Familiarizing With This FAQ [PortFami]
===============================================================================

- Walkthrough Design: The game contains hundreds of separate rooms, which
are again split between several portraits (levels) and Dracula's Castle
itself. I've split the main walkthrough into sections - one section per
portrait, and one section each time you arrive in Dracula Castle after
completing a portrait. Some of the sections are split into areas, which I
have marked with plus ( + ) icons. For example, when you first arrive in an
area named 'Entrance' the walkthrough will simply display ' + Entrance ' In
order to make it a little easier to follow all of the paragraphs in this
  document without getting sore eyes.

- Item Checklists: On the start of each section, you'll find an item
checklist that covers all the important items you'll find in the area that
the respective section covers. The exact, pinpointed locations are described
in the sections themselves, but the item checklists are always handy to have,
as you can print out this document onto paper and then check off the items
you've already found. You can also check items off by opening this document
in a text editor and simply placing a letter or icon inside the brackets
behind each item in the checklists, like you would have done on real paper.
Item checklists do not cover random enemy drops (the bestiary covers them
all), items you can buy or items of lesser importance.

- Where To Look: This FAQ contains a lot of information, but you won't have any
use for it if you don't know where to look. For example, the main walkthrough
contains information on how to get to the end of each level, where to find
the items and secret areas that have been hidden in the levels, and how to
beat the bosses you'll encounter. Information about game basics, optional
quests, and the bestiary can be found in other sections. Look at the Table of
Contents at the very top of this document to find what you're looking for
  really fast.

- Searching: In many Internet browsers, like Opera, Internet Explorer and
Mozilla Firefox, you can press CTRL + F on your keyboard to get a search
window, where you can type in anything you are looking for. Is there a
special item you want to find, is there a certain portrait you need some help
in, or do you want to know how to beat a boss? Just type a relevant word into
the search window and press ENTER.

Character Descriptions [PortChar]
===============================================================================

Jonathan Morris
---------------
Sex: Male
Age: 18 Years Old

Wielder of the legendary 'Vampire Killer' whip. Jonathan is hot-headed, lacks
experience, but has confidence, poise and a sense of humor. At times, all this
might make him look like he's not taking things seriously, although when it
really counts, he can be very clever. His most common answer to most things is
simply 'No problem'. Jonathan is an expert at using standard weapons like
swords, whips and maces, but does not know how to unlock the true power of the
Vampire Killer - and gives his dad the blame for this.

Charlotte Aulin
---------------
Sex: Female
Age: 16 Years Old

Charlotte grew up with Jonathan, and is one of his best friends. She's very
clever, but a little too confident in her book smarts. She talks quite a bit,
and always sticks her nose into others' business. Charlotte is very powerful
when it comes to using magic, but always sees things in a realistic way. While
Jonathan is good at using traditional weapons, Charlotte relies on magic.

Wind
----
Sex: Male
Age: Died At Age 50

Wind is a ghost that was killed by the evil Brauner. He wants to help Jonathan
and Charlotte with taking Brauner down, but since he can't move because of
being under Brauner's force, he teaches the two main characters skills and
gives them items, instead of fighting himself. Because of his strong soul, he
resisted the force that tried to make him a part of Dracula's Castle. Wind's
soul can't rest until Brauner is killed.

Stella
------
Sex: Female
Age: 21 Years Old

The older of the twin vampire sisters. Stella looks down on all humans as
weak, unworthy creatures and has an aggressive personality. She's very skilled
at physical attacks, and laughs at Charlotte and Jonathan's attempt to take
down Brauner.

Loretta
-------
Sex: Female
Age: 21 Years Old

The younger of the twin vampire sisters. Just like Stella, Loretta looks down
on humans, but is less aggressive than her sister. Loretta has a plain
appearance, but is very intelligent. She's skilled at magical attacks.

Brauner
-------
Sex: Male
Age: Unknown

A vampire who lost his daughters 30 years ago. His powers were awakened by
Dracula's castle. He revived the castle fully by collecting tortured souls of
people that died during World War II. His goal is to destroy the human race.
Although the church has speculated in Brauner being Dracula himself, this has
turned out to be false, as Brauner is indeed a vampire, but not Dracula.

Vincent Dorin
-------------
Sex: Male
Age: 32 Years Old

Vincent is a priest sent out by the church to assist Jonathan and Charlotte.
He runs a store where he sells various items. Although he is supposed to be a
helper, he does not provide the main characters with anything, if they don't
give him gold - lots of it.

Gameplay Basics and Hints [PortBasi]
===============================================================================

If you're not familiar with Castlevania, or just want a quick introduction
that explains how the gameplay basics in Portrait of Ruin work, have a look at
the paragraphs below - everything you need to know before getting started with
your upcoming vampire hunting adventure is covered.

- Partner System: You control two characters in Portrait of Ruin, Jonathan
and Charlotte. After getting the first few relics, you will be able to switch
between them and command your partner to do various things like waiting at
your location of choice or using his or her equipped skill. The real bread
and butter basics is that you can have your partner follow you around at all
times by pressing the A button, or make him or her disappear by pressing it
once more. When your partner follows you, he or she will automatically attack
nearby enemies using the currently equipped weapon. You can press Y at any
time to switch the character you are in control of with his or her partner.

- What Character To Use: Jonathan and Charlotte are pretty different from
each other. Jonathan is great at using standard weapons like swords and
whips, while Charlotte is good at using magic spells. If you're dealing with
enemies that are easy to hit, Jonathan is often the best choice, since his
standard attacks are stronger than Charlotte's. Standard, melee attacks do
not consume MP. When fighting enemies that are flying around in the air, or
are hard to hit in other ways, Charlotte is often a good choice, because of
her magic spells that can hit enemies, even if they are flying above you.
Each situation requires a little thinking on your part, but Jonathan is often
better at simple enemies, while Charlotte is good at more difficult enemies.

- Levels and Stats: Portrait of Ruin is not a roleplaying game, but the main
characters have stats and levels anyway. Press SELECT during gameplay to get
an overview that displays your character stats. When you have earned enough
experience points by killing enemies, your level will get higher. Higher
level means stronger characters. Also, let me explain about each stats
meaning -- There are several abbreviations on the stats screen, and all of
  them have their own meanings:

  LV - Current Level
  HP - Health Points
  MP - Mental Points
  EXP - Experience Points
Next - Amount of EXP needed to level up
Gold - Current amount of money
  ATK - Attack Power
  STR - Strength
  DEF - Defense
  CON - Constitution
INT - Intelligence (Magical Attack Strength)
MND - Mental Strength (Magical Defense)
LCK - Luck (Affects Item Droprate)

- Getting MP and Gold: Throughout the game, you will find lots of breakable
background objects, like lamps, decorations, meat pieces and bottles. If you
break these objects, you will often get either gold or hearts that restore
MP. If your MP meter is not filled, you will find MP hears, and if it is
filled, you will find gold instead. Your MP meter will always slowly refill
by itself, but finding hearts is a much faster way to fill it. The gold in
Portrait of Ruin is represented by colored coins. Each type of cocoinas
its own value. Blue coins are worth 1 gold, bronze coins are worth 10 gold,
silver coins are worth 50 gold and golden coins are worth 100 gold.

- Equipment: One of the most important parts of the game is to find
equipment. Weapons and armor pieces can be found, sometimes by killing
enemies, other times by finding secret rooms. If you want to equip armor
pieces or weapons, go to the main menu by pressing START and choose the
'Equipment' option. One the equipment screen you can also view each weapon or
armor piece's stats. Remember that finding equipment is only part of the job,
as you also need to manually put it on your characters if you want to use it.

- Enemy Drops: All kinds of enemies have certain items that they will
sometimes drop upon dying. These items are called enemy drops, or random
drops. By wearing equipment that give more LCK, the droprate will rise, and
you will be more likely to get enemy drops. Have a look at the bestiary
section of this walkthrough to find out what items the various enemies might
  drop.

- Warping From Place To Place: In order to travel faster, you can teleport
between special rooms that have warp points in them. Big, gloving devices
that could be mistaken for being made by aliens are activated once you walk
close to them and press UP. Afterwards you can use the directional pad to
choose where you want to teleport. Note that you can only teleport between
warp points located in the same level. For example, you can not teleport
directly from the City of Haze level to Dracula's Castle.

- Saving and Healing: Just like there are special rooms with warp points in,
there are also rooms with save points. Save points are easily recognized by
the strong, blue glow coming out of them. Press UP while standing close to a
save point in order to save your progress and refill your HP/MP for free.

- Know Your Enemies: As you might have guessed already, there are lots upon
lots of enemies in Portrait of Ruin. Killing them off can be pretty tough at
times, if you don't know exactly how do deal with them in an effective way. A
very good hint is to try using a different weapon or a different magic spell,
if the enemy you are fighting against doesn't seem to take as much damage as
you'd expect it to take. You can also check the enemy bestiary from the main
menu under 'guides' in order to find out what kind of weapons or spells the
enemies are weak against. For example, some enemies are weak against electric
attacks like lightning, while others are weak against whips or poison. Only
enemies you have killed at least once appear in the bestiary.

- Critical Attack: After using one of Jonathan's weapons, press RIGHT, RIGHT,
and attack once more to performa critical attack. A flash will appear, and
you will do much more damage than the attack usually does. Use this all the
time, especially in boss battles. Before using this mode, you need to find
  the Critical Art relic.

- Stock Up: Portrait of Ruin is a game where enemies will attack your
all the time, everywhere. Because of this, you might find yourself low on
health before you even realize that you're taking heavy damage. In situations
like that, it's great to have a potion or two in your inventory, since they
refill health. Never start playing in a new portrait or level if you don't
have any healing items with you.

- Use Your Own Weapons: When you've started reading the main walkthrough,
you'll most likely notice that I usually don't tell you what weapon to use,
if it isn't crucial to winning an important part of the game, like a boss
battle. The thing is, that in a game with so many weapons as Portrait of Ruin
has, you should find your own favorites, since the weapons are very, very
different from each other. Do you prefer whips? Maybe long and slow, but
powerful spears are your favorites? Or do you prefer light knives? Use
whatever weapon you feel comfortable with.

- Hidden Rooms: There are lots of hidden rooms for you to find. In all
stages, there are rooms or passages that can be uncovered by breaking certain
parts of the floor, wall or even the ceiling. Slide, use spells or do melee
attacks often, if you want to find these hidden, item-containing places.

- Priest Vincent: A priest named Vincent runs a store in the entrance part of
Dracula's Castle, just east of the entrance to City of Haze. He sells maps,
potions, antidotes and even skills. Always remember to check his store, and
never forget to buy the maps you don't have. Of course, you will need gold to
buy stuff from this greedy man of the church.

- Important Items: The game doesn't explain this to you, but saving the items
that you find is often very smart. Many items are needed in order to get or
complete sidequests (simply named quests in-game). If you've sold or eaten a
certain item, you might have to restart the game to get it back. Never get
rid of items that are not sold in Vincent's shop. Quests are not covered in
the main walkthrough, but in their own section below the main walkthrough.

- Map Discovery Percentage Rate: When you discover new places, you can check
your map from the main menu. There will be a Map Discovery Percentage Rate
there. If you've seen all the rooms, corners and special areas of a level,
this rate will be 100%. Remember to always check your map when you're inside
a level. The places on the map that are left without color are places or
corners that you have not discovered yet. If you go there, the color on the
map will change to a lighter one, and you will get a higher rate. Even if
you've been in all the areas in a level, you won't get a 100% rate unless you
visit every single corner, so that all the small squares on the map are
colored! Most levels can't be fully explored at the beginning of the game,
since you'll still need more abilities in order to slide through passages or
jump to higher areas. This means that you'll need to return to levels you've
already been in, if you want a 100% rate. Getting a perfect rate for all of
the levels is covered in this FAQ.

- Wind: This friendly ghost can be found in the room just west of Vincent's
shop. Talk to him whenever you see him in order to start one of the many
sidequests. Doing sidequests is a great way to get good items and equipment.
Remember that the quests are not covered in the main walkthrough, but in
their own section, below the main walkthrough.

- Endings and Savegames: There are two main endings in Portrait of Ruin. The
good ending and the bad ending. If you want to see both endings, I recommend
getting the bad ending first, then getting the good one afterwards. This is
because you can easily just watch the bad ending, then load your savegame and
progress to the good ending. You can not however, watch the good ending, then
progress to the bad ending, since the bad ending takes place earlier in the
game than the good one. To find out how to get the different areas, scroll
down to where I've written about the boss battle against Stella & Loretta.

The Skill System [PortSkil]
===============================================================================

Portrait of Ruin is filled with various skills that your characters can use to
slay the hordes of enemies that never seem to get tired of hunting you, or
even boosting your stats, healing and more. By accessing the main menu, then
going to 'Guides' and 'Skills' you can see what skills you currently have, and
what they are used for. There are three skill categories - Subweapons, Magic
Spells and Dual Crush. The game might make it sound a little confusing, but
'Skills' in Portrait of Ruin is a collective name for the attacks and spells
in these three categories:

Subweapons
----------
This first skill category consists of traditional weapons like throwing-
knifes, Shuriken and grenades. Only Jonathan is able to use the subweapons
since Charlotte concentrates on magic spells instead. The red items in the
Skills menu are all subweapons. They are numbered from 1 to 29. Behind each
subweapon in the skills menu, there is a 'Master Rate'. All weapons start out
with a master rate of 1 point. To get a higher rate, attack enemies using
the subweapon you want to get a higher rate for.

Each enemy type has a SP rate, which is what decides how many master rate
points you will earn by killing it using a subweapon. For example, if you
attack a zombie using one of your subweapons, that subweapon will get 1 master
rate point, since all zombies have 1 SP. If you attack another enemy, like the
Skull Bartender, you will get 2 master rate points, since the Skull
Bartenders have 2 SP. Once you've fully mastered a subweapon, it will get
much stronger. Don't be afraid of grinding; you'll need to do it in order to
master your subweapons. To use a subweapon, you must equip it on Jonathan
from the equipment screen. You can use the subweapons by holding UP and
pressing the Y button.

Magic Spells
------------
The Magic Spells also have to be equipped in order to be used, just like the
subweapons. Only Charlotte can use magic spells. The difference from
Jonathan's subweapons is that where Jonathan uses weapons, Charlotte summons
flames, ice spears and the like. Magic spells do not have to be mastered, as
Charlotte knows how to use the spells perfectly from the very moment she finds
them. The blue items in the Skills menu are all Magic Spells that Charlotte
can use.

There are two ways to cast the spells. You can either charge them with the Y
button until the charge meter on the lower screen is full in order to unleash
the most powerful version of the spell, or you can release the button earlier,
to cast a less strong version of the spell, which consumes less MP. You can
use the magic spells by holding UP and pressing the Y button.

Dual Crush
----------
The last category consists of spells and attacks where Charlotte and Jonathan
combine their powers, and attack at the same time. This consumes a lot of MP,
but the moves you can pull of are stronger than anything else when used
against the right enemies. The white items in the Skills menu are all Dual
Crush attacks. You can have two different Dual Crush attacks equipped at the
same time - one equipped on Jonathan and one equipped on Charlotte. You can
use Dual Crush attacks by holding UP and pressing the X Button.

Watch the opening sequence to get in the right mood for some vampire hunting.
You will now be introduced to Jonathan and Charlotte, who are the main
characters in Portrait of Ruin, as well as Vincent, who is a man sent here by
the church. Vincent explains that even though the church believes that the
castle ahead belongs to Dracula, no one has actually seen the vampire count
himself yet. Run a little right to find the castle entrance.

+ Entrance

Drop down into the first gap to find your first relic. Relics are blue items
that are scattered through the game. Once picked up, they'll give your
characters new abilities. This one is named [Change Cube] and lets you switch
between Jonathan and Charlotte by using the X button. Jump upwards using the
nearby platforms to find the [Call Cube] ontop of a switch.

The Call Cube lets you call your partner, so that he or she follows the
character you are controlling. This is among other things useful for pressing
down switches. Try calling your partner using the A button while standing
ontop of the switch you found the relic on, in order to lower the bridge that
leads further into the castle. In the next area you will meet the first
zombies of the game. Kill both of them, and head into the next area.

Drop down from the small platform that is at the same height as the floor to
find the [Tome of Arms 1]. Equip it on Charlotte, replacing her Encyclopedia.
if you try using Charlotte's melee attack now, you'll notice that a small
sword appears, making her able to hit enemies standing further away from her.
Left of the Tome of Arms, you will find the [Short Sword] which is a weapon
that Jonathan can use. You'll learn that Jonathan is the one that uses hand
weapons, while Charlotte is more fond of spells and magical weapons. Attack
the wall below and left of the short sword to find a [Beef Jerky].

At the bottom, below the Short Sword, you will find a Save Room. In save
rooms, you can also restore you HP and MP for free. Save your game, then head
back up to where you dropped down from the platform. Walk right from there to
find an area with a cracked pillar. Break it by simply attacking it, then get
to the eastern end of the room before the Behemoth that has started to chase
you manages to damage you. There is no point in trying to fight the behemoth.
Jump up and take the [Beef Jerky] at the platform near the room exit. Wait
for the behemoth to leave the room, then exit right.

In here you will find a subweapon - the [Knife]. Subweapons are weapons that
cost MP to use, so make sure that you don't waste your MP by using them
without thinking. Only Jonathan can use subweapons, but the game makes up for
it by letting Charlotte use magic. To use the knife, hold UP on the
directional pad and press the Y button. This is useful for hitting enemies
standing far away from you. That is, if Jonathan is the character you're
currently in control of. Jonathan's subweapons and Charlotte's magic spells
can only be used after equipping them from the equipment screen that is
accessed from the main menu, but since this is your first subweapon, you won't
have to equip it manually - just remember this for later.

Use the save room on your right side, then go back and jump upwards. As you
can see, there is a relic on a ledge to your right up here, but you can't
reach it yet, so jump up and continue left instead. Walk left through the
next area and pick up the [Wait Cube] relic that you'll find at the top of a
statue.

Make Charlotte wait ontop of the statue by pressing DOWN + A button, then
push the statue left. Change back to Charlotte using the X button. Now you
can jump up to the nearby ledge and take the [Raging Fire] which is a magic
spell that only Charlotte can use. This is a great spell, as the flames that
Charlotte summons won't go away for a while, and are able to hit enemies in
the air, as well as on the ground. You can also charge magic spells, by holding
UP and the Y button, then releasing Y when you've charged as much as possible.
You can let go of the button earlier as well, but the spell will be weaker.

Head left into a room with red curtains and windows. Continue left to a new
room where you will find the [Head Guard] which is a head armor for Jonathan.
As always, make sure you equip it before proceeding. Jump up using the
platforms in the eastern part of this room, and kill the armored guard up here.
The [Book of Spirits] relic is also found up here, so make sure you take it.
Now you will be able to view the names of the enemies you attack. Keep an eye
on the lower right part of your touch screen to check it out. A pretty neat
feature, isn't it? Drop down again to the room you came from.

Left of here you will find the first Warp Point. Make sure you activate it by
pressing UP while standing close to it. You can't warp anywhere yet, since you
haven't found more than one warp point this far. Go back right, drop down and
step onto the switch on the floor. A metal shutter that was blocking the
passage to the lower floor will now open up, making it possible to go from here
to the very beginning of the castle in only a few seconds. Don't drop down
though - go right into a new room instead. You'll meet Wind, who is a ghost.
Let him talk a little, then you'll get your first Quest from him. While buying
stuff from Vincent like mentioned in the quest entry, you might want to buy
the [Shuriken], [Dart] or [Rock Riot] subweapons. They all cost 1000 Gold,
which is quite expensive, as we're still at the beginning of the game.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quest: Preparations
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Objective
---------
The Priest should have some useful things for you in the next room. Get the
potion and the map from him.

Quest Walkthrough
-----------------
The first quest is a piece of cake. Just walk one room right from where you
talked to Wind, and buy the [Castle Map 1] and a [Potion] from Vincent, who
has started a shop in the room right of Wind's location. If you can't afford
them both, backtrack and kill some enemies to earn a little gold.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After getting the map and the potion, talk to Wind again to get [Lizard Tail]
which is a relic that gives you the ability to slide. Sliding is useful to get
through narrow passages. Let Wind inform you about the castle's current master
Brauner, then head left out of the room. Continue left and slide through the
narrow passage by holding DOWN and pressing B. There is a cursed painting in
here. Smart as she is, Charlotte has already figured out how to teleport into
the painting itself. This painting leads to the City of Haze.

Activate the first Warp Point in City of Haze by going a little right from the
painting, then continue right and kill the Death Mask that is flying in the
air. Death Masks might seem like a bother to kill at first, but by using
Charlotte's Raging Fire magic, they are not hard or bothersome at all. Continue
right into a building and take the [Clover Tiara] that is lying on the floor.
Jump all the way to the top, and go right into a new room. Fight the Axe Armor
enemy in there then jump upwards using the nearby platforms to find the
butchery store. Take the [Kirtle] that is lying on the floor there and equip it
on your lovely partner, Miss Charlotte. Drop down right from the butchery to
find the [Leather Cuirass], which you can equip on Jonathan.

Make your way right, kill two skeletons, and break the lamps in the ceiling if
you need some MP. By breaking lamps, MP hearts will fall down. You will also
get gold by breaking the smaller lights that are placed on stair decorations.
Drop down left, then walk right to get outside. Here you will meet an Andras,
which is a demon who rides a wolf and carries a flaming sword. Just kill him
off using Charlotte's Raging Fire. Go right into a building, take the
[White Corsage] on the floor, and save in the nearby save room. Backtrack, jump
to the top of the platforms and take the [Leather Corset] at the very top.

Jump further upwards and fight the Zacchino and Forneus there, then proceed
upwards, go right then start dropping down to the very bottom of the area. Make
sure you break the lamps and other objects on your way if you want some gold.
At the bottom, near the Axe Armor, there is a [Copper Plate] lying on the
floor. To make sure you're at the same place as me, you should be in the area
just right of the previous save room. Check your map to confirm your location.
Ok, now slide in the floor to break it. That's right, you can actually break
the floor here to make a new passage appear. Drop down into the passage.

Kill the student witch, head left and kill the bartender. Take the
[Green Tea Cake] that is lying on the floor, then grab the [Cream Pie]
subweapon that can be found just behind the cake. It's important that you do
not use or sell the tea cake, or any other non-standard items you find. Many of
them are used in quests. You can read more about that in the quests section.

Go back to where you killed the student witch, and slide to break the wall on
the right side. Take the [Paper Airplane] subweapon, then attack the cash
register behind it. It will open up. Break the lamp above the register to make
some gold fall down into it. Right now there are four different cakes you can
get. The amount of gold that drops down from the lamp and into the register
decides what cake you will get: [Wheat Roll], [Sachertorte], [NY Cheesecake],
[Mille Feuville]. To get a new cake, just exit the room, and repeat the
process.

Walk right into a new room and grab the [Rush] which is a skill that both of
your characters will cooperate to pull of. You can try it by first equipping
it on the equipment screen, then holding UP and pressing the X button. Skills
that both characters use at the same time are named Dual Crush skills.

Go back to the previous room, and jump to the eastern top where you will find a
[Claymore]. The Claymore is a sword that does some heavy damage, but
unfortunately it is also a very slow weapon. Equipping it or not is of course
your choice. Sprint right, into a new room. Kill the Axe Armor that is waiting
for you at the beginning, take the sandals at the right side of a dark
platform, then drop down below the platform. Walk outside again at the bottom.

Kill all the zombies that are walking around outside, then Walk inside, jump
upwards and take the [Leather Whip] at the top of the platforms. Go right, drop
down one step, then head right to get outside again. Make your way right, into
a new building, and jump upwards. At the top, go left to find a new Warp Point.
Go right to find the [Enamel Pinheels], then drop down into the gap near the
Pinheels. You'll find the [Holy Lightning] magic spell in a backyard just right
of the bottom. Backtrack all the way to the area you were in before walking
outside.

Once there you need to drop down below the dark platform on the floor. Walk
left to get to a room with a sign saying 'Markt Street'. Continue left, then
drop down to the bottom while watching out for the peeping eye enemy. At the
bottom there is another dark platform that you need to drop down below. Take
the [$1000] down here, then walk left to find a save room where you can heal,
and of course, save your game. Head right to find a train wagon and a switch.

Have one of your characters wait in the wagon, and use the other character to
attack the switch. Once activated, quickly press the X button to switch back to
the character in the wagon. This way, the wagon will break the walls that are
blocking the path further ahead. Kill a peeping eye at the end of the train
wagon part, go right to find the [Skill Cube] relic. By pressing the R button
you will from now on be able to summon your partner, and make him or her use
the currently equipped subweapon/magic spell upon appearing. This does of
course consume MP.

Jump upwards from where you killed the Peeping Eye and go right to find a Warp
Point. Continue upwards to find the [Gale Force] magic and the [Mace].

Head right to find a church. East of the church area there is a save room. Save
there, then backtrack to the church and jump upwards. Walk right through
another room and you'll arrive in an area where you'll see a huge gap
with a platform floating in the middle. At the right side of the gap there is a
[Houppelande] for you, so take it and equip it before dropping down into the
gap. As you can see in the background, there is a dead body lying in a bed.
Head right into another room. Keep walking until you find a room with
platforms. Jump to the upper left and take the [$1000]. Now use the Holy
Lightning Dual Crush in the upper left part of this area. The ceiling will
break. Jump into the opening and take the [Nun's Shoes] in there. Go back
and walk east to exit.

There is another Warp Point just right from here, so activate it if you wish.
Jump upwards from the area before the warp point, then save in the room just
above the warp point. Jump upwards afterwards then head left to meet a boss.

| Weak Against: Strike, Whip, Electric | SP: 40 | HP: 600 |
+---------------------------------------+----------+------------------------+
Dullahan is a blue undead head that also commands a huge armor. It will
at all times try to connect its head to the armor. If it is successful in
connecting the head, lots of projectiles will come flying towards you.
Dodging these projectiles is not hard at all, if you run around, never
standing still. After the projectiles have been dodged, the armor will
throw the head into the air, generating some nasty smaller, faster
projectiles. Dodging these is harder, so instead, stop them using
Charlotte's Raging Fire. If the armor takes a big step backwards,
run away from it to avoid its charging attack. The armor can also jump up
in the air. This attack can be avoided by simply staying far away - at
the ground. To kill off the boss, simply target the huge armor and use
Raging Fire. Each hit will deal a good amount of damage to the boss. If
you're in for some really fast gameplay, summon Jonathan between the part
where the head and the armor connects, to have him do some really fast
melee damage. Make sure to have him go away before all the projectiles
start appearing. In short, Charlotte and her Raging Fire is a great way
to win this battle.

Touch the red gem that appears after the battle and watch the scene with
Loretta. After she has gone away, head one area left to find the [Acrobat Cube]
relic, which makes it possible to jump onto the shoulders of your partner. This
is great for reaching ledges high above the ground. To do this, summon your
partner, jump above his or her head, then jump again when you are at the same
height as you partner's shoulders. Head one room left again to find an area
with lots of platforms. First slide to break the floor in the eastern part.
Take the [Tuxedo Coat] down in the hole that appears, and jump back up again.

Jump up to the eastern top and jump off your partner's shoulders in order to
get the [Cape]. Jump over to the western top and grab the [Thick Glasses] on
the floor. Ignore the hole in the wall for now, and drop down to the western
bottom of the room with all the platforms in.

Fight an axe armor in the small corridor, and continue left to find a room with
a dark platform in the middle. Drop down below the platform and fight the
Andras enemy for a [Biker's Jacket]. There is also an [Axe] on the floor. Jump
back up again, and take the [Moonwalkers] at the upper right before heading
left to a new area. In here, walk left and drop down below a dark platform.
Head left from the room you find to reach another area with lots of platforms.
The upper right has a [Long Sword] that you can reach by bouncing off your
partner's shoulders and the upper left has a [Velvet Ribbon]. Take them both,
then drop down to the lower left where you can exit the area. Outside, you will
find the [Push Cube] relic, which lets you push stuff around. Try walking into
the nearby wagon and start pushing it. Summon your partner while pushing to
start pushing the wagon for real. Exit left and fight two Andras.

Continue left, slay a bunch of Axe Armors, then take the [CON Boost] magic
spell. Go back right and drop down below the dark platform that the wagon was
standing on before you managed to push it off. Down in this room, there are no
items if you have followed this walkthrough, as we've been here earlier. If you
didn't follow the walkthrough back then, there will be a [Mace] and a
[Gale Force] magic spell in here. Now walk left and drop down to the nearby
Warp Point. Go back to the entrance, and use the portrait to teleport back
to the Castle where you met Wind.

Each time you exit a portrait like this, I will list the best possible Map
Discovery Percentage you can get this far. If you've followed the walkthrough,
this is the rate you will end up with. To fill the percentage all the way up
to 100%, you will have to get some new abilities. I'll tell you when you're
ready to go back in order to claim the 100% rate, so don't worry about that.

After leaving City of Haze and going back to Dracula's Castle, head over to
Vincent's shop again and buy the [Castle Map 2] along with any other items,
spells or skills you might want - it's all up to you. Just make sure you do not
sell any of the non-standard items you've found. Well, when you're done
shopping, talk to Wind. He should have a new quest for you, named 'Supersonic
Punch'. From now on, you can simply check the Quests section in this
walkthrough for information about how to get quests, how to do them, and what
the rewards you can earn by doing the quests are. Now, check your map. Head
over to the area just above the rightmost save room - the rightmost save room
you have found this far, in other words.

Since you have the Acrobat Cube, you can jump off your partner's shoulders in
this area, and take the [Whip Skill 1] relic. After taking it, head right.
Pick up the [Spear] below the boss gate, then open the gate and head inside.

This is a much easier boss than the one you fought in City of Haze. Use
Jonathan, and equip the spear that you found in the area just before this
one. The boss has a few ways to attack. When it stars charging, be quick
to jump up on the nearby platform, then jump over the boss when it comes
running towards you. When the boss starts puking, stand near the boss
while crouching to avoid the acids, and finally, when the boss sends his

Make sure you grab the orb that appears after the battle, then exit in the
upper right part of the area. Don't bother going further right, since there is
a locked gate there. Below the fences that are blocking the lower door that is
connected to the room where you fought the behemoth, you can break the wall. Do
that and pick up the [Combat Knife]. Now go back and drop all the way down to
find a red gate leading left. Walk inside to reach the Buried Chamber.

+ Buried Chamber

Defeat the Golem, walk left through this prison-like room and drop down below a
dark platform. Down here kill some Une plant enemies, then exit left once you
reach the bottom. You'll find an [Anti-Venom], so take it, then drop down to
the bottom. Go left, kill two Skull Archers, then go even further left, to the
southwest-most room on the map. Here you will find the [Offensive Form]
subweapon. Once equipped and used, Jonathan will do more damage when he
attacks. He can't have another subweapon equipped at the same time as using
Offensive Form though. Head back to the bottom of the room after the area you
killed the Behemoth in, then head right.

This is another prison room, with lots of Mud Men and some Frozen Shades.
Concentrate on taking down the shades first, since they have a pretty nasty
attack where they summon huge ice spears and send them towards you. Exit this
prison room by going right. There are two paths in the next room - one at the
top above some flipping platforms, and one at the bottom. Make your way to the
top one first. There is a Golem and two shades in here. Take them down, then
break the floor in the middle of the room by sliding. Drop down and take the
[HP Max Up]. This gives you a bigger HP limit. Jump up again.

Make your way through the room, then drop down and walk left into the path on
the bottom. Kill the Mud Men and the Invisible Man in here, and pick up the
[Cestus] before going back right. Jump a little upwards using the flipping
platforms, and head right into a new room with a tree ledge hanging on the wall
near the entrance. Jump onto the ledge, and save your game in the save room
located in the upper right corner. Go back one room, then drop down to the
lower left where you can activate a Warp Point.

Go right from the warp point to find a sewer. Kill the Dragon Zombie by using
some magic spells, and take down the mermen here as well. Continue walk right,
drop down to the bottom, then go right to another sewer. Defeat the slime,
mermen and shade in here, then progress right to a room with some wooden ledges
in. A Invisible Man is waiting for you here, so watch out. Take him down, then
exit in the upper right corner. In this sewer, go past the platforms that lead
upwards, and attack the pipes in the rightmost edge of the room to find a
[Boiled Starfish]. Now jump up to the top of the platforms you just passed.

Make your way to the top while killing slimes and bats and take the [potion]
at the top before heading right, walking through a room with mud men, and
taking the [Bandana] in the room right from here. Watch out though, as an
Invisible Man is guarding it. Take the bandana, then go back left to the room
where to took the potion. Go left from here. Fight two Frozen Shades and take
the [Ice Fang] magic spell from the left part of the room. Break the floor
below the Ice Fang spell to find another [HP Max Up]. Head back upwards.
Now jump up using the nearby platforms. Another room with flipping platforms
and bats is waiting for you here.

Jump a little upwards, bounce off your partner's shoulders to get the
[Copper Plate], then make your way to the very top without getting hit by the
bats that never stop attacking. In the room after you've made it to the top,
kill an invisible man and walk west into another of those red gates. Continue
walking left until you reach the Great Stairway.

+ Great Stairway

Kill the Skull Archer and the Skelerang, then exit in the upper left corner.
Watch the scene where Death appears, then head left two times to find a Warp
Point. Go back one time from the warp point, and start making your way upwards
after killing the green Ukoback. Exit in the upper right corner, and start
walking right through a hallway with lots of Persephone enemies. You'll find a
room with a Skull Archer afterwards. Take the [Don Quixote] in this room, and
equip it on Charlotte. Right of this room where you found the Don Quixote, you
can save your game in a Save Room. Go back, and exit in the upper right corner.
Walk into the Boss Gate in the next room.

process with using Charlotte's spells on the boss until you win the
battle. To do this really quickly, use Jonathan's Pullet Punch to
attack the pot. The battle shouldn't take too much of your time.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Pick up the red orb after winning over Keremet, then exit by going right. You
will find yourself in a cave. Take the [Stone of Flight] relic - now you will
be able to double-jump in mid air - and kill the larvas that are attacking.
Jump upwards, take the [Partisan] and exit right. Kill the Catoblepas in the
next area, then continue right. In the room where some Skull Archers are
walking above you on some platforms, head right instead of jumping upwards.

Fight the Lerajie and take the [Iron Leggings] from the floor behind it. Use
something like the Holy Lightning to break the floor close to the leggings.
The [Bathrobe] will appear. Drop all the way down to the bottom and take the
[Nun's Habit] in the lower left corner, but watch out for the Mimic enemy.
Head two rooms right to a save room. Go one room back left from the save
room, drop down to the very bottom and fight lots of Persephones on your
way. Walk left from the bottom to activate a warp point, then go right to
find a new portrait. Head inside.

  +----------+----------+----------+----------+---------+-------------------+

Lovely music here in the desert, right? Ok, head one room right and activate a
warp point. This is of course the first warp point of Sandy Grave. Continue
right to meet a bunch of mummy enemies. If you've got the Shuriken subweapon,
using it against them is a nice way to kill them fast. Head two areas right to
meet a giant sand worm. Slaughter the sand worm, and sink into the area below
it, since there's quicksand here. Grab the [HP Max Up] down here, then head
back up again to where you met the sand worm. Head right into some ruins.

Smash some red skeletons in here (killing them off requires special weapons or
a spell, like Charlotte's Sanctuary spell), then take the [Steel Whip] from the
eastern part of the room, above a yellow statue. Right from the whip, there is
a save room, so make sure to use it. Exit in the lower right part of the room
where you found the steel whip. In the room on the other side of a small
corridor there are several red skeletons and one flying skull. Drop down below
the dark platform in this room, and continue dropping down to the very bottom
of an area with lots of red skulls walking on the ledges that are leading
downwards.

Exit right at the bottom. Take down the Amphisbaena enemy down here.
In the room east of here, there are some platforms that will start shaking when
you step on them. There are some items on some of the platforms. To get them
without being hurt, just jump quickly, barely touching the platforms. The
items you can get are [$2000] and [Diamond Brooch]. Exit right from this room.

There are some nasty ghosts in this room, so drop all the way down to the
bottom of the ledges, and exit left to find a warp point, as well as a
save room. Now exit in the middle right from the room with all the ghosts.
Kill the big Elgiza enemy by aiming at its head, then kill a Dragon Zombie in
the next room. Like earlier, continue right. Take down the two White Dragons
that are hanging on the walls and take the [HP Max Up] from the upper right.
Exit this room by jumping to the very top using the platforms.

There is a stone that is rolling from the left to the right on a path in the
upper part of the room. Walk towards the left, towards the stone. When it comes
close to you, just jump upwards using the small holes above you. Exit in the
upper left corner. Fight the mimic in this room and take the [High Potion]
that the mimic was guarding. There are several Fleaman enemies in this room,
and lots of ledges leading upwards as well. Instead of going upwards though,
you have to go left to a room with mummies and an ectoplasm. Head left, kill a
white dragon and take the [$2000] that it was guarding. Now, in the right part
of this room, jump off your partner's shoulders and do a double jump to get
up to the top of the yellow path where some red skeletons are walking.

Take the [1,000 Blades] Dual Crush skill at the top of the yellow paths. Break
the statue close to the dual crush skill to get lots of gold. Now backtrack
right to the ledge-filled room where the Fleaman enemies where jumping around.
Jump upwards there, and exit at the very top. Start walking left. As you can
see, there are some traps in the floor. Make them fall down by quickly walking
under them, then going back when the trap falls down. Now you can jump over the
fallen trap. Use this process each time you encounter a new trap.
Make your way left and exit the room.

In here there is a bone pillar enemy at the bottom an some armor knights on the
path above. Jump off your partner's shoulders to get up there to the armor
knights, and take the [$2000] bag in the upper right corner. You will also find
the [Clear Skies] magic skill, which is able to neutralize ranged attacks when
used by Charlotte. Drop down again to the bottom of the path, and head left out
of the room. Keep walking left until you're back in the area where you found
the very first save point in Sandy Grave. Save there. Lovely, now you've
examined a lot of areas, and gotten a lot of items! After saving, head all the
way east, back to the room east of where you found the Clear Skies spell.

Once there, exit east and walk through a small corridor. At the other side,
there will be a scene involving Brauner and the two sisters. After the
conversation, head right from the room where you met Brauner, and take the
[Bwaka Knife] subweapon from the upper right corner. You'll have to jump off
your partner's shoulders in order to get up there. Now, there's exits in both
the upper left corner and the lower right corner. Walk through the lower right
one and exit the room. You'll find yourself outside again in the desert.

Take down another sand worm, then continue running right and kill a corpseweed
enemy. Behind it, you will find another weapon for Jonathan, the [Bahg Nahk].
Take it and return back into the ruins. In the room where you found the Bwaka
Knife, exit in the upper left corner. Run through a couple of corridors, and
head all the way to the top of the elevation where a devil wheel is rolling.
Exit left and run up another elevation. Dodge the falling traps in the next
room, and take the [Pumpkin Pie] in the middle of the next room. Kill the skull
archer and take the [Crystal Necklet] from the upper left corner. There are
several exits in this room - you need to go through the lower left one after
saving in the save room behind the upper left exit.

Slay the persephone after exiting in the lower left corner. Continue left, kill
another Elgiza enemy and exit left to activate another warp point. Walk through
a small corridor and kill the armor knight and the other enemies in the room
left of the corridor. If you drop down in the lower left corner, you can get
back to the first save point, so do that only if you feel like going there.
To continue, exit this room in the upper right corner, close to where you
entered after walking through the small corridor. There's lots of Bone Pillar
enemies here, and behind them you will find the [Steel Ball]. Take the
[High Potion] in the upper left corner of this very same room, then exit in the
upper left corner by jumping upwards from an eagle-platform.

Kill some bone pillars and an armor knight, then exit by jumping upwards. Kill
a white dragon in the next room. As you can see there is a green-colored
blockade in this room with an item behind. You can not get that item yet
though, so exit in the lower right corner. Run through a small corridor, then
take down an Amphisbaena in the next room. There is a dark platform in this
room that you need to drop down below, if you want the [Royal Sandals]. Take
the sandals, drop down to the last save room again, and make your way back up
to where you fought the Amphisbaena again. Quite a pain, eh?

Walk right from there, through another corridor and jump ontop of the pillar
with the magic lamp on. Both Jonathan and Charlotte have to stand on it. A gate
will open, so walk through it and exit in the lower right corner. Take the
[High Tonic] in the lower left corner where the Fleaman enemies are jumping
around, then kill the crossbow armor enemy and exit in the lower right end.

There is a [Charm Necklace] just right of where you arrive in the room below
the previous one. Take it, but avoid all the ghosts that are attacking. Take
the [Glamorous Pumps] in the eastern part of the room, then kill all the ghosts
in this room, and take down the great ghost that appears after doing so. Jump
back up to the previous room where you found the pillar with a lamp on. Exit in
the upper left corner. Head a little left to find a warp point, then jump
upwards to find a save room above the warp point. Jump upwards to find a gate.
And guess what; this gate leads to another boss!

Boss Battle: Astarte
+---------------------------------------+----------+------------------------+
| Weak Against: Strike, Whip, Slash | SP: 50 | HP: 1500 |
+---------------------------------------+----------+------------------------+
First of all, Astarte has a spell that is able to charm Jonathan into
getting hostile towards Charlotte. Jonathan is however great to use in
this battle, if you've got one of your subweapons, like the shuriken
mastered. Just switch him out so that he isn't on the screen when
Astarte tries to charm him. Just wait for her to say 'temptation!'
then switch Jonathan out. Once it's safe again, bring Jonathan back.
The shuriken, along with the 1,000 Blades Dual Crush is a great weapon
to use in this battle. When, or if, you run out of MP you can start
damaging the boss by walking close to her, then quickly using your
melee weapon to hit her once or twice, before backing off again, as
you don't want to get hit by her ranged attacks. If you're far away
from her when she uses one of them, you can easily dodge them by
jumping. The key to winning this battle is basically keeping Jonathan
from getting charmed.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Grab the orb that appears after you've won the battle against Astarte, then
head left. Drop down in the lower right corner of the next room and grab the
[Strength Glove] relic down here. Now you can finally push blockades marked
with green color, by calling your partner while pushing. There's a couple of
hidden areas left now, that I haven't told you about yet, but getting to them
now is impossible, since you'll need some more relics first. Now head back out
of Sandy Grave, to the room where you entered the portrait to get here.

Now that you are back in the castle, jump upwards and save in the nearby save
room, then go west and make your way to the top of the room where some
Lerajie and skull archer enemies are hanging around. Exit in the upper left
corner. You'll arrive in the room where lots of skull archers are walking on
some platforms above you. Just to confirm that you're in the right room, make
sure that there is a chest in the background.

Jump upwards onto the platforms above you where some Skull Archers are
walking, and kill all the skull archers while making your way to the top.
Head one room right from the top and kill the huge Great Armor there.
Continue right. Head up to the top while killing Lerajies, and take the
[Goggles] at the top.

Break the wall right of the Goggles to find the [Axe Bomber] Dual Crush
skill. Drop back down, then go left to an area you haven't been earlier. Here
you will find the [MIND Boost] magic skill in the lower left corner. Start
jumping upwards, and take down all the Lerajies, Mimics and Larvas you see.
Watch out for the cracks in the floor, then exit in the upper left corner.

The skelerangs that are guarding this area can be quite a bother, so try to
avoid the wooden sticks that they throw at you while making your way to the
upper left where you can exit the room. Walk two rooms left from here, then
activate the warp point you run into. Go one room back right and start
jumping upwards, following the green Ukoback that is flying in the air. At
the top there are two doors - one leading right and one leading left. Go
right. Kill a Glaysa Labolas and continue right. As you can see, there is a
green blockade up here. Leave the blockade alone, and head back left.

You will eventually reach a huge stairway that is guarded by some Hill Guard
enemies. Kill them, then start walking left down the stairs. In the middle of
the stairs you will wind some platforms. Use them to get to the upper left
part of the room where a [STR Boost] can be found. Now go back to the
platforms you used to jump up here. Left of the platforms there are three
small ledges where some Skull Archers are shooting at you. Kill them, then
jump over to the three ledges to get [Poncho], [Potion] and [Tonic]. Drop
down to the very bottom where you will have to kill some Skeleton Flails,
then head east to find [Tome of Arms 2], which is being guarded by some
Lerajies. Head to the bottom left of this room now, and walk out of the exit
there to arrive in yet another room with a huge stairway.

It's built in the same way as the previous room. The lower right part of
this room has a [HP Max Up]. On the three platforms in the middle of the room
you can find [Monochle], [Uncurse Potion] and a [Jade Corset]. Take them,
then exit the room in the bottom left corner. Drop down in the room with two
Skull Archers to find an area with a red gate on the left side. You've been
here before. Phew, now you've got a great map discovery percentage and some
great items thanks you all the exploring.

Return to the eastmost (the one you ran into first) stairway room, where you
found the STR Boost. Below the STR boost, in the upper left corner there is an
exit. Walk through it to arrive in a cold-looking stone cellar area with
some Lilith enemies walking around. Kill the skeleton flail in the upper part
of this room, but ignore the platform in the upper right corner. Instead head
west to find a balcony with a crossbow armor. Take the crossbow armor down, and
exit the balcony area by going further left. There is a platform above you in
the next area - it leads up to the next portrait. Do not jump up there just yet
though, instead drop down to find an [Iron Plate] in the lower right part and
some [Whip Knuckles] in the left part. Just drop down from where the mimic
enemy is, and do a double jump in mid-air. Exit in the lower part of the room
and keep walking to find a switch. Press it down to open a wall-like gate. Now
you can walk directly from the westmost stairway room to the stone-cellar area.

Back in the cellar area, head left out to another balcony, and keep on walking
left until you reach a red gate. Walk through it to reach the entrance part of
the castle. The music changes to reflect this. There's lots of larva enemies
floating around, so avoid them and exit left. You'll run into a green block in
the area left of where the music changed. Push it left and use it to get up to
a platform in the upper left part of the room. You will run into the [Nebula]
up here. Take it, then drop back down. Drop down to the very bottom of the room
with the green block, then break the wall in the western end, close to the
slinger enemies. Take the [HP Max Up], and go back right two rooms.

Defeat the invisible man and the great armor, then go right again to find the
[Knee Strike] subweapon for Jonathan. Go back to the room with the green block
that you pushed earlier. Exit in the upper left end, just below the green
block. In this room, jump up in the upper left corner to find a room with a
[Laurel Brooch] guarded by a Lilith enemy. Drop down again. Now, take a look at
your map. You'll see that the area where Wind and Vincent are waiting isn't far
away, just a little southwest of your current location. Go see them, and make
sure you remember to save your game in Vincent's shop. Buy some stuff from
Vincent if you want to, and do some quests if you feel like.

As always, take a look at the quests section of this document. If you go back
west to the entrance of the castle, where the bridge is, you can now jump off
your partner's shoulders in order to claim the two small squares above the
bridge on your map that have not been colored yet. After doing that, go all
the way back northeast to the room that leads to the next portrait. This is a
part of the great stairway part of the castle, more closely described as the
area that I've been calling the cold stone-cellar. A Mimic and a Lilith are
guarding the area, which is where you found the Iron Plate and Whip Knuckles.

Exit this room by jumping upwards. Activate the warp point in the western
end, kill some Skeleton Gunman enemies, and save in the save room east of the
Skeleton Gunmen. Left of the save room, break the ceiling to find [HP Max Up]
and the [Nun's Robes]. Drop down again and head a little west from the save
room to find the Nation of Fools portrait.

  +----------+----------+----------+----------+---------+-------------------+

At the beginning, head one area right. There are some Coppelia enemies
balancing on a line here. Take them down and exit the room by jumping upwards
in the eastern corner. Take down the hanged bones and the killer clown up here,
and make progress by heading left. In the next area, it is possible to drop
back down to the room with the portrait, but doing that now isn't a good idea.
Instead head left first to activate a warp point, then jump upwards in the room
where you could also jump down. Head east through a bunch of areas, until you
see some slimes climbing on the wall. Take the slimes out, then save in the
save room behind the red curtains on your right side. Drop down afterwards.

Take the [$2000] on the ground , then go right. You'll see lots of blue
curtains. Continue right, kill a harpy enemy, then jump upwards along with the
brick wall, and continue right to meet a couple of Armor Knights. Watch out for
their spears, and exit in the lower right corner. Kill the Lerajie enemy inside
the burning wheel, and at the other side of the wheel, jump upwards along with
a brick wall to find the [Dancer's Blouse] in the upper left corner. Head over
to the eastern part of the area, jump a little upwards, then go left to find a
[Silk Hat], not far from where you got the lovely blouse. Exit the area in the
upper right corner, by jumping on a platform. Kill the Spittle Bone and the
Armor Knight inside the house in this area, then grab the [High Potion] on top
of the house. Head a little right to exit this area. Make your way upwards in
the small, dark area with nothing but a slime, and exit west.

There's lots of blue curtains in the area you run into now, and not much else.
Head west to find a save room. Jump upwards to the red curtain in the save room
to get to the next area. Avoid the huge blade that is swinging around up here,
and take the [HP Max Up] in the right end of the room. Now, from the room with
the swinging blade, it is possible to exit in the upper right, and the upper
left corners. It really doesn't matter which exit you choose, as long as you
examine the path that you didn't choose afterwards. Let's go for the upper
right exit first, shall we?

Make your way to the top, past some Coppelia enemies, and grab the [$2000] in a
room above. Drop down a little again from the room where you got the gold, then
head left. This is the path that you chose not to take earlier. There's lots of
swinging blades here, so just avoid those and concentrate on examining the
whole room so that you get a good map discovery percentage. Return to the room
where you got 2000 Gold now. Head left from there, walk through a room with
some Larva enemies, and drop down in the room with the burning wheel to find a
[Tonic]. Drop further down, to the very bottom, and snatch a [MP Max Up] from
the ground. Go back up to the room with the larvas (left of where you got 2000
Gold), and exit by jumping upwards. Head right, and exit the small, dark room
in the upper left corner. There is another swinging blade inside a house in
this area. Just exit in the upper part of the area.

Kill the Slime, take out the White Dragon, and grab the [High Tonic] that the
dragon was guarding. Above the White Dragon there are some swinging blades.
Head left, avoiding the blades to find some [Spiked Boots]. Take the boots,
then break the white block just right of the boots to find some [Caviar]. Now
make your way up to the upper left corner, and exit this place. There's a
slime and some Armor Knights here. Beat them all, and exit in the left
corner. The next room puts you up against a slime. There is an item at the
other side of a small passage, but unfortunately, you can't get it yet.

Head left, grab the [Volcano] Dual Crush skill then continue left to find a
warp point. Head one room back right from the warp point, and drop down
through the floor in the right part of the room. Head left from here, past a
swinging blade, and grab the [HP Max Up] at the far western point of the
area, near a Killer Clown. Just right of where you found the HP Max Up, drop
down through the floor. Head right until you see a swinging blade. Attack the
wall on the right side above the swinging blade and grab the [Touch & Pop]
inside this hidden room. Now, backtrack left until you find a place where you
can drop down. Avoid all the swinging blades, and grab the [Critical Art]
relic at the bottom. Activate a warp point right of the relic, and save in the
save room left of the relic. Now head out from the save room and drop down.
Grab the [Cog] from the floor to start a boss battle.

At first, the boss will look like a giant, undead piece of meat.
Corpses will fall down from the circle, but are not really a very
big threat for you, since hitting them once is enough to defeat them.
If you've got Jonathan's Bible subweapon, using it here on the giant
meat-ball is pretty effective. Keep on attacking the ball until it
breaks completely. Some tentacles will pop out of the ball, as the
boss transforms to a smaller circle. When a tentacle turns green, it
will shoot a beam at you. Watch out for the tentacles, and never stand
still, as they will shoot beams. Some of these beams don't stand
still, so make sure you use all the platforms to jump around, avoiding
the beams. Note that touching the part of the tentacles that does not
shoot will not damage you, so jumping 'into' or 'through' the
tentacles is not dangerous, and can be useful for avoiding the beams
in hectic situations. Use a long weapon, like the spear or partisan so
that you can easily hit the boss even if you're not in very close
range. Use the bible (or the shuriken if you don't have the bible)
subweapon for ranged attacks, or Charlotte's Raging Fire, if you're
using her in the battle instead of Jonathan.

- If you don't care about the map discovery percentage, you are now free to
leave Nation of Fools and skip to next section of this walkthrough -

Grab the orb that appears after the battle. You should see now that there are
exits on the right, left, bottom and top. Go through the exit on the right
side, and examine the area from here and to the places you've already been to.
Make sure you don't get killed by the Medusa Head enemies. Once you've done
that, go back to the place where you beat the boss. Head left now, and walk
through the room with two Flying Armor enemies. You'll run into a room with a
burning wheel and some Fleaman enemies. Jump upwards from here to find
[HP Max Up]. Now drop down two rooms. In the room with the swinging blade,
drop downwards to find a save room. Continue making your way downwards on the
map from here. You'll arrive in an area with a swinging blade, some Slimes and
an Armor Knight. The upper right part of this room has a [Battle Jacket] - on
top of a building's roof. Take it, then drop down to a new area.

Kill the Lerajie and the Killer Clown here, and make your way over to the right
side of the burning wheel and grab the [Grenade] subweapon. Exit in the lower
right corner, and keep walking right until you're back in the room with the
portrait. Great, now you've got a nice map discovery percentage. If you've
followed this walkthrough, you only need to examine the upper left part of the
map to get a perfect rating. Lets do that! Head back upwards again to the last
save room you were in. Jump one room upwards from here, then go left to find
a [Moon Brooch]. Jump upwards in the room with the Brooch. Jump upwards to the
very top to exit this room with two swinging blades and some Fleaman enemies.
Head a little right, then drop down to examine a room with some Coppelia
enemies in. Go back up, then continue upwards to find a room with a White
Dragon. Kill the dragon, continue left to find a room with blue curtains, then
go further left to a small, dark room. Exit this one in the upper right corner.

Take down the Spittle Bone, Slime and Armor Knights in this area, and exit in
the upper left corner. In this area, take down a White Dragon, head right along
the rooftops to find a burning wheel. Take the [Corn Soup] right of the wheel,
then exit in the upper left corner after slaying a Killer Clown. There's lots
of Fleaman enemies in the next area, so watch out, and exit in the upper right
end of the room. Head right through to additional rooms, one of them has a
Armor Knight enemy, and you will arrive in a warp point room. Check your map;
everything looks like it has been discovered now. There are however still a few
percents left to get 100%. To get those, warp over to the warp point above the
boss room. Drop down into the boss room and exit at the bottom. Head right to
find a [Spaghetti], then take the [Pasta Carbonara] in the room left of the
spaghetti. Now drop further down, all the way back to the portrait room.
Exit Nation of Fools now. Great job!

Warp back to Wind and Vincent if you want to do some quests. There's quite a
few new ones availible right now. Take a look at your map, and pinpoint the
save room that's close to the Nation of Fools portrait. A little southeast from
that save room (on your map) you can jump upwards, to an area that you haven't
been in until now. The place where you need to jump upwards in is just west of
the eastmost room with the huge stairway, if you remember that one. There are
some brave White Dragon and Skeleton Gunman enemies guarding the area up there,
so take them out before exiting in the upper right corner by jumping. If you
walk right in the upper right corner instead, you will see some gold bags, but
since they are inside a narrow passage, you can't get them just yet.

Up in the next area there are two Leraje enemies close to where you enter. The
background has changed from dark stone bricks to wooden walls now. Take the
[Sequined Dress] at the highest point of this area. Drop down again, and
backtrack to the huge rooms with the great stairways. Head east from there, and
continue as far east possible. In a room right of the area with a couple of
Ukoback enemies, push the green blockade and open the red gate. Now you should
be in another area you haven't visited earlier. The music changes.

+ Tower of Death

The background is yellow here, so check that just to confirm that you've
gotten to the Tower of Death and not some other place. There are some
Skeleton Gunman and a Skeleton Flail enemies here, so take those out before
running out of the room in the right edge. In this small room, break the wall
in the lower right corner to find [Tasty Meat] and kill the Hill Guard that
is standing in the small stairway. Jump upwards using the flipping platforms
to exit the room. There are some spikes above you here. Head right to
activate a warp point. Jump upwards to the top of the spikes and save by
heading left from there. There is a door in the upper right corner as you can
see. Ignore this door at this point, and enter the boss gate in the lower
left corner, just opposite of the warp room instead.

Boss Battle: Stella
+--------------------------------------------+----------+-------------------+
| Weak Against: Whip, Slash, Fire, Electric | SP: 0 | HP: 2500 |
+--------------------------------------------+----------+-------------------+
There's not a big challenge in this battle, but beating Stella is
funny after all. She has three main attacks in her first phase. The
first one is shooting a huge mid-air beam towards you. Avoid this one
by either crouching or double jumping. The second one is a beam as
well, but this one is sent from Stella along the floor, and has to be
hopped over if you feel like avoiding it. The third attack is Stella
attacking with her melee weapon. The two beam attacks are easy to
avoid, as the animation that Stella's sprite starts before using the
attacks is pretty slow. As for her melee attack, she won't be using
it a lot if you don't stay close to her for a long time. Equip a
fast, but not too short weapon on Jonathan (the Gladius is a good
choice, if you have that sword), and use the Shuriken subweapon to
provide additional damage. When Stella realizes that she is about to
loose the battle, she starts summoning green moons, that will stand
still for a while, then fall down towards you. Just run to avoid them
when they fall - it's not hard. Throughout the battle, throw
shuriken, attack with your melee weapon, and use the holy lightning
dual crush if you want to do lots of damage to Stella. She is weak
against electricity, after all.

+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+-+

Take the locket that Stella leaves, then return to Wind. Listen to what Wind
has to say about his real name, his daughters and the vampire killer whip. I
won't spoil anything for you. Head back to the room where you won over Stella
when you're ready, and exit in the left corner. Charlotte puts the cog you
found in Nation of Fools into a set of other cogs and opens a gate. There are
two motorcycles here. Ignore them at first, and make your way to the middle of
the area where you need to break the ceiling in order to find [Slick Boots].
Go back to the two motorcycles and have your partner wait at the upper one,
while stepping on the lower one with your main character.

Now the cycles will start moving, and you will have to switch between you
characters using the X Button. First, crouch with the character on the lower
cycle, then crouch with the one on the lowest cycle. Switch to the upper
character to crouch now, then back to the lower one to crouch once more.

Finally, switch back to the upper character, and when the upper cycle runs into
a square formed block, jump over it. The motorcycles will break the wall left
of here if you manage to stay on the motorcycles through the whole ride. Left
of the motorcycle-room, head through a small corridor with an Imp in, and head
into the room where there are some moving platforms circling around. Exit that
area in the middle left end and continue left as far as possible to get to the
right side of the room where you saw some gold in a narrow passage earlier. You
still won't be able to collect the gold (there are 2 bags) now though.

Go right back to the room with all the circling platforms, and take the
[Halberd] from the middle of the room, a little above the left passage yo just
entered from. You can break the wall left of the Harpeid to find a hidden room
with a [Viking Helmet] inside. Now just to examine some areas before heading
into the next portrait, exit the room with the platforms in the middle right.

Run right through some red gates, kill some Succubus and Razor Bat enemies,
and keep on walking right until you run into a fire blockade. Step on the
nearby switch to extinguish the fire, the continue right. In the room with the
cog platforms and Medusa Heads, pick up the [Tempest] magic skill from the
eastern part of the room, close to some spikes. Jump back up again from the
small hole the skill is found in by jumping off your partner's shoulders, then
double-jumping. Now, just drop down and head left to get back to the last save
point, a little east from the room where you beat Stella. Nice trip, wasn't it?

Head back west to the room with all the moving platforms now, and exit by
jumping upwards at the very top of the room, to reach the top of the building,
where there are lots of wooden furniture in the background. Slay a Killer Doll
and a Crossbow Armor up here, and grab the [Taunt] subweapon from the floor.

Drop back down to the room with the platforms, activate the warp point and save
room in the upper right corner, then exit in the upper left corner, just below
where you found the taunt subweapon, to find the portrait that belongs to
another scary place - Forest of Doom.

Don't be fooled by the name of this level, as you are far from doomed. If you
follow this walkthrough that is. Skip a paragraph or two, and I won't be there
to guarantee that you survive. Sounds evil, right? No? That's up for you to
decide. Anyway, head one area right from the portrait to activate the very
first warp point in the forest. Continue right into a new area where lots of
ravens are escaping in the background. Don't worry though, as the ravens are
not able to damage you in any way. Kill some frogs and progress right into a
house. In here some Killer Bee enemies will be waiting for you. Purple ones!

A subweapon like the bible is great for dealing with Killer Bees, for your
information. A Malachi enemy will attack you in here as well. It has quite a
bit of health, but is rather slow when moving. Well, head further right to
reach a room with a Red Axe Armor in. There are stairs in the background here.
Take the armor down, then continue right once more. Kill the Treant enemy, but
watch out for its kicks. Walk as far right as possible, just to get a bigger
discovery percentage. When you reach the dead end, head back to the area where
you met the Red Axe Armor, and jump upwards from there. Destroy the two Killer
Doll enemies up here, and attack the platform in the upper left corner, near an
exit. [Cream Puff] will fall down. Now then exit in the upper left corner.

Deal with the Killer Bee enemies in this room and continue left to find an area
filled with green grass. Jump upwards here, and head right at the first exit to
find a small room with some Killer Bee and Killer Doll enemies. Lots of killers
here in this doomed forest, that's for sure. Behind all the gruesome killer
enemies you will find the [Moldy Bread] on the ground. Take it, go one area
back left, and jump to the very top of the grassy area. Use the exit at the
top. It leads right, and is the only exit up here. Some Harpy enemies are
having fun in this room - but no more! Take them out, then head right to exit.

Beat the Skelerangs and Succubus to death in here, then exit by jumping
upwards, not very far from where you entered this room. There's a few Student
Witch and Witch enemies in here, so make sure you defeat them before exiting in
the upper left corner to find a save room. Back in the room with the Witch and
Student Witch enemies, exit in the bottom left end - don't drop down, but head
left to an area you haven't been to before. Destroy the Bee Hive, Bees and
Frogs in here, and continue one area left. There's another grassy area here,
similar to the one you were in earlier. Head right through the exit in the
middle to find a room with a Bee Hive in. You might want to walk in and out of
this room, destroying the hive until it drops the Beehive item. I normally
don't mention quest items in the main walkthrough since there's an own section
for the quests, but heading all way back here would be a bother, especially
since the droprate is pretty low for the beehive. Go back left from the room
with the Bee Hive and exit at the grassy room in the upper right corner.
Take down a Treant and a Bee Hive up here and grab [Tristan & Isolde] from the
ground. Head back and save in the last Save Room you found, then drop down from
the area with the witch. Head right from here.

Kill the Blue Crow enemies in the corridor, then head right to find a room with
a Witch and some Student Witch enemies. There are several exits in this room.
Hop through the upper right one first, and kill the Treant up here. Head right
out of the area with the Treant, drop down to the bottom after taking out
another Blue Crow, and head left left down here into a passage to find a
classroom with three Killer Doll enemies in. Kill them all, walk back out of
the room, then head left in the middle of the room where you killed the last
Blue Crow that you ran into. There is a Bee Hive in this room, so take it out
and head left. You should now be back in the room with the Witch and the Witch
Student enemies. Drop down at the bottom of this room.

Take down the Bee Hive just left of where you entered this room, then hit the
bell in the lower left corner to make the wall break. Now you can easily go
from here and back to the very beginning of the level. The wall that broke was
the dead end you ran into at the beginning. Continue right out of this area.
Watch out for the three Harpy enemies at the right side of the black wall, then
jump upwards using the nearby platforms, take down the four Blue Crows at the
top, then drop down to where you saw the Harpy enemies. Take the [HP Max Up]
that is lying on the ground, and slay all the Student Witch enemies before
heading out of this room in the lower right corner.

You will now find yourself outside with some ruins in the background. Head
right from here, deal with the Tombstone and the Treant enemies. Continue
running left through a long, flat area then head into the building at the far
eastern end. There's two Moldy Corpse enemies and a Corpseweed in here. Slay
them, and activate the warp point right of this area before exiting by jumping
upwards. Just right of where you entered this room after jumping there is a
save room, so make sure not to miss that. It's been a long time since last time
you saved, remember? Outside of the save room there are some Moldy Corpse
enemies and a Dogether enemy, which is a big, red eye. Head out of this room in
the upper right corner, by jumping above the entrance to the save room.

Take the [Silver Leggings] in the eastern part of this area, then drop down
again to the room with the Moldy Corpses and the Dogether enemy. Exit right.
Walk right through two corridors with Blue Crows and a Red Axe armor.

In the next are there's a Maneating Plant. Cut it all to bits, then jump
upwards to a new area where you will find lots of Blue Crow enemies and a
[Silver Plate]. Drop back down to the room with the Maneating Plant. There is
also another Maneating Plant and a Dogether down here. First exit in the lower
left corner to find an empty room with nothing else than a Maneating Plant in -
oh, well there is a bed in the background - then go back and drop down.

Examine the area you arrive in to see that there is an item and a bell behind a
wall in the lower right corner. You will have to walk quite a bit to get there,
so take the [Amethyst Corset] from the lower left part of this room, then exit
in the upper left corner, close to where you came down from earlier. Kill the
Witch in the square-formed room, then head left to another grassy area. There's
quite a few enemies in this area, like Maneating Flower, Blue Crow, Molding
Corpse and Dogether. Examine the whole place before exiting in the lower left
corner, close to a Maneating Flower. Push the green tombstone left with help
from your partner, then drop down below it. You'll arrive in a dark room.
Make your way right to another dark room with Frog enemies in. You can break
the ceiling in the middle part of this frog-room, but getting up to the room
above is impossible right now, as you will need to own morph to do that.
Walk right until you can get back up to the surface again.

Once outside, head left, kill a Maneating Flower then walk into the building.
Grab the [Stonewall] and sound the bell to break the wall that was blocking
your passage just before you dropped down into the dark rooms with all this
nasty Frog enemies. Go back right and keep running past some Tombstone and
Moldy Corpse enemies. Drop down into the hole in the ground, and head right to
find a save room in a stony cave. Outside of the save room, in the lower left
corner, break the wall to find [Rusty Food Tin]. Go back up to the surface, and
take some steps east to find a boss gate.

+--------------------------------------------+----------+-------------------+
This battle will take place under water. Just like in Super Mario
Bros. 3 you can swim upwards at any time by pressing the button you
jump with. I suggest using Jonathan at the beginning this battle. Use
the shuriken subweapon to damage the green head on Dagon's body, and
attack this part of him with your melee weapon at the same time.
Dagon will after a while start breathing in. This means that he is
preparing a water cannon attack. When you see him breathing in,
quickly change to Charlotte and use her Tempest spell to neutralize
the water cannon attack. You can also use Clear Skies to do this, but
that's slower. Avoiding the water cannon attack can also be avoided
by swimming upwards, as the water level will slowly rise when Dagon
uses the attack. If you're swimming upwards though, you need to watch
out for some mine-like objects that Dagon has let of his body. Don't
touch them. If Dagon starts moving, he will just jump to the other
side. Avoiding him is not tough, as you can just stand still on the
bottom. If you've mastered the shuriken subweapon, this might be one
of the easiest battles in the game. If you struggle with doing enough
damage however, you can try using the Holy Lightning dual crush, as
Dagon is weak towards electric attacks.

Now that you've fried Dagon, take the red orb and swim back up. Go right to
find the [Toad Morph]. The Toad Morph is useful for changing your character
into a from. Leaping into narrow passages is no problem for a small frog! Head
a little right from the room with the toad morph in to find a warp point. Now
warp back to the portrait and exit Forest of Doom.

Back in the room with all the moving platforms, outside of where the Forest of
Doom portrait is, drop down and head left into the passage closest to the very
bottom. Fight a Harpy enemy, walk through a couple of red doors, then use the
Toad Morph to get the [$2000] and [$2000] bags in the narrow passage just left
of the area with the Harpy. Heading back to Wind and Vincent to save, and maybe
even doing some quests is a nice idea, so do that for a change if you want to.
Remember where you found the Tempest spell? Go there - it's just northeast of
where you beat Stella when you fought her. There's lots of cogs and Medusa Head
enemies here, just like before. Exit by heading right.

Use the Toad Morph to get through the narrow passage, then jump upwards to
reach a room with a moving platform and some imps. Go to the top of this room
and exit left to find a room with a giant spinning cog and lots of Medusa Head
enemies. Grab the [Thunderbolt] magic spell from the upper right corner, and
the [HP Max Up] from the upper left corner. Watch out for the spikes in the
ceiling while collecting those two items. Drop down from where you got the HP
Max Up and exit left. Kill the Gaibon enemy here, and break the left wall to
find a [MP Max Up]. Exit this room by jumping to the very top.

Defeat the Slogra enemy up here, break all the clocks to get some gold or
hearts, then exit by going upwards from all the clocks. There is a moving
platform in this area. Use it to get to the top, and exit left after killing
two Killer Doll enemies. You'll meet lots of Medusa Heads in here, as well as a
Flying Armor enemy. Take down as many of them as possible, and grab the
[Rose Stem Whip] just left of where you entered this area. Make your way to the
upper right part of the room, after passing some cogs and flipping platforms.
Exit the room using the door up here. Kill some Imps, then use the moving
platform to get to the top of the room where you can exit by heading left.

Slay the Solgra and the Gaibon here, then activate the warp point in a room
which you can access in the upper right corner. Head back left to the room
where you killed a Slogra and a Gaibon, and grab the [Blue Cape] from the
northwestern corner. Now head out of this room by heading to the upper right
corner, just above the room with the warp point. Jump upwards, save at the save
room in the upper right corner, then open the boss gate just left of the save
room. Prepare for taking down another boss!

Boss Battle: Death
+--------------------------------------------+----------+-------------------+
| Weak Against: Nothing in particular | SP: 0 | HP: 4444 |
+--------------------------------------------+----------+-------------------+
NOTE: DO NOT SKIP THE DIALOGUE AFTER THE BATTLE, AS YOUR SAVEFILE IS
LIKELY TO GET CORRUPTED IF YOU DO.

- Death's Forms: Death has two different forms that he will switch
between in this battle: dark and light. When Death is in his dark
form, he is weak against spells, while his light form is weak
   against physical attacks.

- Death's Moves: First of all, Death's most basic attack is
striking with his scythe. This attack can easily be dodged by
jumping or running. Whatever suits the given situation best.
Another move that Death uses frequently is summoning chains that
tie together into a square, and start spinning around. Death now
throws his scythe, which bounces into a new direction each time it
hits the chains. Just run around, crouching to avoid the scythe if
it gets too close. The small sickles that Death summons some times
will fall down from the air, and can be avoided by running and
jumping. Death's final move is summoning four circles containing
metal hands. Some times, hands pop out of the circles. If you fail
at jumping away from the hands, summon your partner so that he/she
can break the hands before Death manages to attack you.

- Strategy: When Death is in his light form, attack him with Jonathan's
bible subweapon, and a normal weapon you are familiar with.
When he changes to his dark form, use Charlotte's Tempest spell
to do lots of damage to him. Death isn't really hard to beat, once
you've gotten familiar to his moves.

After beating death, head back right to save your game, then exit Death's room
in the western end to find [INT Boost], which is a magic spell. Head back into
Death's room, where you can attack an angel statue to bring up an elevator.
Take the elevator down to the very bottom and break the wall on your right side
down here to find a [HP Max Up] in a hidden room. Still at the bottom of the
elevator path, take it upwards twice then go left. Drop down to find the
[Open Veil], then jump straight upwards to find the [Combat Beret]. Now, go to
the bottom, take the elevator a little upwards, and exit left. Head through
a red gate. Welcome the Master's Keep. Before starting with master's keep,
you might want to head back to Wind for a conversation in regards to Jonathan's
grandfather before continuing. Vincent has been bitten by something now, and
says that he can be healed with a spell. You can return later to heal Vincent
with the sanctuary spell (found in Sandy Grave). If you choose to heal him, the
game's ending will be changed. Head back to the Master's Keep entrance.

+ Master's Keep

The music changes upon entering Master's Keep, just like it does when you enter
any other part of the castle. Head left straight from the entrance to find a
Warp Point, then go one room back and drop down to the bottom after taking down
two Succubus enemies. Grab the [HP Max Up] from the bottom floor. Drop down
from the entrance room and head right to find a save room. West of the save
room, you must fight a Wyvern enemy and activate a switch to break the floor.

Now you can travel from here and back down to a corridor southeast of Forest of
Doom. This makes it a little faster to go to the Master's Keep than earlier.
Backtrack to the Master's Keep entrance room and go west from there. Take down
several Razor Bat enemies and two Malachis. Exit left, then jump upwards to
a new area. This is the first time you meet a Dead Crusader - kill him.

A Spin Devil can also be found in the room where you took down the Dead
Crusader. He's pretty fast, so make sure you hit him when attacking. It is
possible to exit this room in the upper left corner by jumping, or by walking
through a passage in the upper right corner. Choose the upper left one. There
are several blood-stained platforms with Succubus enemies here. Take all the
enemies down, and exit in the upper right end. You'll see a Death Crusader on a
platform above you in the next room. Ignore it, and head right instead. Deal
with a Spin Devil, a Ruler's Sword (use the Bible to defeat it easily), then
exit by heading further right. Kill two Flame Demon enemies, and drop down.

Down here, you will meet a Succubus, Death Crusader and a Spin Devil. Slay them
all, and grab the [Piercing Beam] from the upper left corner. Drop down from
this room just to examine the rooms below. Once you've done that, go back
up to the room where you killed two Flame Demons. Exit by jumping upwards.

Kill the Death Crusader in the small room above, then jump upwards to exit.
On your right side, there is a warp point. Head left from the warp point to
meet a Final Guard enemy. Use a Dual Crush skill like 1,000 Blades to kill the
Final Guard, if you don't want to spend the evening fighting against him. Exit
left. Now you'll be back in the room where you saw a Death Crusader above you
earlier. Examine the room fully, break the wall on the left side to get
[MP Max Up], then return east to the last warp point you activated. From there,
jump upwards and go right to find a save room. Jump further upwards to find a
invisible wall. You can't walk through it yet, so go back down and head left
from the save room instead. As you can see, there is a boss gate here. At the
other side of the gate, you will fight Stella & Loretta.

If you kill them, you will get Portrait of Ruin's bad ending. If you want the
good one, you need the Sanctuary magic spell. You can find the sanctuary spell
in the southeastern part of Sandy Grave - in the room with the rolling boulder.
You need to use the Toad Morph in there and make your way left through a narrow
path below the rolling boulder. Once you've got the sanctuary spell, head back
to the boss gate in Master's Keep to fight Stella & Loretta.

+--------------------------------------------+----------+-------------------+
| Weak Against: Slash, Whip, Fire, Electric | SP: 0 | HP: 2500 Each |

NOTE: If you kill the sisters, you'll get to watch the bad ending. If you
want to continue towards the good ending, use Charlotte's sanctuary
spell on them.

- Stella & Loretta's Attacks: The most dangerous attack that the
sisters will use is when Loretta spins around, summoning a sword
made of ice. Stells grabs the sword, and swings it in the air,
trying to hit you with it. This attack can be avoided by jumping
behind Loretta and Stella.

Then we have their Icicle Drop attack, where Loretta summons lots of
ice spears that will move across the screen and drop down. Equip a
whip, like the Rose Steem Whip, if you've found that one, then hold
the attack button while swinging the whip around with the
directional pad. Doing this will eliminate all the nearby ice spears.

If Loretta summons a huge ice block, run as far away as possible,
as Stella will break it, making lots of ice pieces flying towards
you. You can also slide under the ice block before it breaks, if
you're cornered.

The sisters' final attack is summoning a circle, with some
creatures coming out of it. Just get behind the circle the moment it
appears, as the creatures can only go one way once the circle has
appeared. A blizzard might come out of the circle instead of the
creatures as well.

- Killing Stella & Loretta: If you want the bad ending, you can kill
the two sisters. Avoid the attacks like described above, and use
Jonathans Shuriken and Rose Stem Whip to attack them. Loretta
is weaker towards physical attacks, so make her your main target.
If she flies down to the ground, the 1,000 Blades Dual Crush is great
to use on her. If you just want to kill them, this battle is quite
a pushover.

- Using Sanctuary on Stella & Loretta: Sanctuary isn't of the fastest
spells you can cast, so using it on the sisters can be quite a
challenge. What you need to do is equipping sanctuary on Charlotte,
and then summon her with the R button once Loretta starts summoning
the circle where a blizzard or some creatures come out of. Stand behind
the sisters once they summon the circle. Now, Charlotte will start
casting sanctuary. Guard her by standing in front of her, and hold
| the attack button while rotating the directional
