Make sure you stick "Metroid" or "Echoes" or something similar in your subject

If you want to be absolutely sure you have my attention, the best way is by
posting on The Brink. Second best is AIM, and the worst of the three choices

0.00) A FEW NOTES BEFORE YOU GET STARTED

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
---------------------------
SIDE-TRIPS AND BACKTRACKING
---------------------------
Some players like to get items as soon as they can while going for a perfect
file, other players just want to beat the game and could care less about having
a perfect file. I've tried to make a walkthrough that fits both styles of
play. Side-trip sections to pick up extra items and scans are integrated in
the walkthrough as indented sections. If you just want to beat the game, skip
the indented sections.
Backtracking is inevitible in Metroid games. Some players learn the areas and
maps quickly, other players get horribly lost every time they try to go
somewhere. Right now, the walkthrough section details the actions you should
take in every single room, including a room-by-room guide to backtracking for
the players that need it. So far, I haven't denoted what's backtracking and
what is not. In the future, perhaps I'll mark the backtracking sections with
something besides dashes so players that don't need help backtracking can skip
them easily.
--------
SCANNING
--------
A large portion of the game will require scanning with Samus's Scan Visor.
Press Left on the D-Pad to activate it, then hold the L button while looking at
a target to scan it. Things that show up blue or red have not been scanned.
Things that show up green have already been scanned, or have the same scanning
results as something that has already been scanned.
I've tagged everything that needs to be scanned to go in your log book with a
"LOG" tag at the top of every room when you enter it. Make sure you find and
scan all of these tagged items if you want a perfect file.
----------
EXPANSIONS
----------
"MISSILE" tags at the start of a room denote that you can get a missile
expansion from the room. "POWER BOMB" tags denote that you can get a Power
Bomb expansion. "BEAM AMMO" denotes that you can find a Beam Ammo expanison,
and "ENERGY TANK" denotes that you can get an energy tank. If you're looking
for expansions, you can find them in the walkthrough by doing a Control+F
search for those tags (make sure you keep the "match case" button checked).
I will have a complete expansions section at the end of the guide as soon as
possible. (And a complete Log Book section.)
----
KEYS
----
Lots of players on the board seem to have trouble finding the keys to the
various temples, so I've tagged rooms with keys in them with a [DARK TEMPLE
KEY] or [SKY TEMPLE KEY] tag depending on what type of key it is. If you're
looking for the keys, use a Control+F search for that tag in the section of the
game you're in.
Later, I'll consider adding a section dedicated to detailing the locations of
all the keys for all four temples.
------------
PERFECT FILE
------------
The walkthrough is designed so that you will have 100% scans and 100% items
before completing the game. If you want a perfect 100% file, DON'T SKIP THE
INDENTED SIDE-TRIP SECTIONS. I don't detail how to go back for them if you
skip those sections, so you could have a hell of a time tracking down the ones
you missed.
-----------
UNLOCKABLES
-----------
Several things can be unlocked, and these are some of them:
40% of all log book scans, promotional gallery unlocked.
60% of all log book scans, character gallery unlocked.
80% of all log book scans, creature gallery unlocked.
100% of all log book scans, boss gallery unlocked.
Percentage Complete 100%
- Hard Mode Active
- Rough Sketch Gallery unlocked
There are multiplayer levels to unlock as well. Details on that later.

0.01) TEMPLE KEY LOCATIONS

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since this is one of the most commonly asked questions on the board, here are
the locations of all three Agon, all three Torvus, all three Hive, and all nine
Sky Temple keys.
----------------------
Dark Agon Temple Key 1
----------------------
FOUND: Dark Agon Wastes - Trial Tunnel
This is in a small room attached to the Dark Agon Temple. Just enter the room
and grab the key.
----------------------
Dark Agon Temple Key 2
----------------------
FOUND: Dark Agon Wastes - Doomed Entry
After taking the portal in Command Center, you'll end up here. It's pretty
hard to miss, since it's sitting out in the open.
----------------------
Dark Agon Temple Key 3
----------------------
FOUND: Dark Agon Wastes - Battleground
You'll be forced to fight several Ing to get this key. DON'T FORGET TO SCAN
THE ING WEBTRAP that seals the door during this fight. It's a one-time-only
scan.
------------------------
Dark Torvus Temple Key 1
------------------------
FOUND: Dark Torvus Bog - Dark Torvus Arena
After defeating the Boost Guardian, roll through the tunnel and use the
halfpipe in the main part of Dark Torvus Arena to reach an alcove in the wall.
The key is just sitting there for you to swipe.
------------------------
Dark Torvus Temple Key 2
------------------------
FOUND: Dark Torvus Bog - Undertemple Access
The infamous second Torvus key... No, you don't need Power Bombs or Spider
Ball to get it. Get into LIGHT AETHER - HYDRODYNAMO SHAFT. Near the bottom,
there is a large piece of machinery. Use your newly acquired Gravity Boost to
get on top of the machinery, then go through the portal there. You'll end up
in Undertemple Access, and they key will be right in front of your face.
------------------------
Dark Torvus Temple Key 3
------------------------
FOUND: Dark Torvus Bog - Venomous Pond
Yet another key that's just sitting out in the open. You'll need the Grapple
Beam to get it. There's a tunnel you can use near the door you first enter the
room from. Roll through the tunnel, then stand up and use the Grapple Beam to
get to the ledge with the key on it.
---------------------
Ing Hive Temple Key 1
---------------------
FOUND: Ing Hive - Culling Chamber
There's a Spider Ball track leading into the glass thing in the wall. Use the
tracks to get in the glass area, then grab the key.
---------------------
Ing Hive Temple Key 2
---------------------
FOUND: Ing Hive - Hive Gyro Chamber
Use your Spider Ball to get on the orb thing in the center of the room.
Carefully roll by the tentacles to the track at the top of the orb. Launch
yourself to the circular track at the top, then launch yourself across it to
grab the Dark Temple Key.
---------------------
Ing Hive Temple Key 3
---------------------
FOUND: Ing Hive - Aerial Training Site
This key can't be gotten from the main part of the room. Instead, you'll have
to use Screw Attack to wall-jump up the walls in Central Hive West Transport.
There's a door at the top that leads to the area the key is in.
----------------
Sky Temple Key 1
----------------
FOUND: Dark Agon Wastes - Battleground
Use the Annihilator to charge a beacon, which will let you get rid of the Ing
in this room very easily. Then turn your Dark Visor on to see a series of
moving platforms. Jump on them all the way to the last one, then shoot the
Flying Ing Cache to make it appear. Destroy it while it's hovering above the
ledge, then grab the Sky Temple Key. (You will need to enter this room from
the upper part of Double Path.)
----------------
Sky Temple Key 2
----------------
FOUND: Dark Agon Wastes - Dark Oasis
Use a Power Bomb to destroy the rock wall near the middle door. Jump in the
right side of the water and use your Dark Visor to find a Flying Ing Cache.
Destroy it and grab the Sky Temple Key from it.
----------------
Sky Temple Key 3
----------------
FOUND: Dark Torvus Bog - Poisoned Bog
Drop into the water and search for a little alcove. Turn on your Dark Visor,
and you'll see something red floating around. Shoot it, then turn off the Dark
Visor. This is another Flying Ing Cache, so if you didn't scan the first one,
scan this one. Then destroy it and take the Sky Temple Key it drops.
----------------
Sky Temple Key 4
----------------
FOUND: Dark Torvus Bog - Dungeon
Jump into the water under the portal and turn around to find a new enemy on the
ground nearby. Scan it for a Log entry, then use a Light Beam shot to activate
the crystal above it. Roll through the hole behind it, turn left, and repeat
the process with the second Watchdrone. In the area behind the second
Watchdrone, use your Dark Visor to find a Flying Ing Cache, shoot it, and grab
the Sky Temple Key it drops.
----------------
Sky Temple Key 5
----------------
FOUND: Ing Hive - Hive Entrance
Use Screw Attack to get to the other side of this area, then walk onto the
bright yellow light to head up to the top area. Turn around and use the Screw
Attack again to get to the upper part of the first area. Use your Dark Visor
to find the Flying Ing Cache, then blast it and take the Sky Temple Key from
it.
----------------
Sky Temple Key 6
----------------
FOUND: Ing Hive - Hive Dynamo Works
Turn to the right and look back at the door when you enter the room. Use that
Spider Ball track to Boost over to the floating globe, then Boost from the
globe to the second globe, and finally, from the second globe to the track on
the wall. Drop off onto the platform at the end of the room, then turn on your
Dark Visor. Shoot the floating enemy you see there ONCE to make it appear.
Turn off your Dark Visor, then scan the enemy for a Log entry if you need to.
Destroy it, take the Sky Temple Key, then use Screw Attack to get back to the
tunnel and exit the area.
----------------
Sky Temple Key 7
----------------
FOUND: Sky Temple Grounds - Ing Reliquary
Head down the path to the left, then use your Dark Visor to find a Flying Ing
Cache in the air. Blast it and take the Sky Temple Key.
----------------
Sky Temple Key 8
----------------
FOUND: Sky Temple Grounds - Defiled Shrine
Use an Annihilator shot to charge one of the safe zones, then watch as the Ing
all walk right into it. Use the Dark Visor to find the Flying Ing Cache, then
blast it and take the Sky Temple Key.
----------------
Sky Temple Key 9
----------------
FOUND: Sky Temple Grounds - Accursed Lake
Scan one of the large things in front of you for a Log entry, then deal with
the Warrior Ing. Work your way to the back-right of the room and turn on your
Dark Visor. Shoot the Flying Ing Cache, then take the Sky Temple Key from it.

1.01) GETTING MISSILES

-------------------------------------------------------------
--- Light Aether - Temple Grounds ---
------------
Landing Site
------------
LOG: Samus's Gunship
SAVE POINT: Samus's ship can be used to save your game.
ENERGY FILL: Samus's ship can be used to fill your energy.
MISSILE FILL: Samus's ship can be used to fill your missiles and other items.
Start by scanning everything in the area, making sure to scan Samus's ship.
Find the spiderweb-like things hanging in front of your ship and fire at the
green centers to destroy all three of them. Head through the door at the end
of that hallway.
------------------
Hive Access Tunnel
------------------
Scan the plant in front of you, scan the door mechanism to your left, and then
procede down the right side of this room to continue.
--------------
Hive Chamber A
--------------
LOG: GF Gate MK VI
MAP: In the back of the room, kinda hard to miss.
There are several items to scan here if you want. When you're done, scan the
gate leading out of the room, and scan the small pillar to the left of it.
The locks will open on the top corners of the gate, so blast them both with
your beam to open the gate. Move forward, and you will notice a large gate
blocking your path. If you scan it, it will tell you to scan a nearby access
panel to activate it. See the power cables on the ground? Follw them to the
right to see a small panel in the wall. Scan it to open the gate.
Continue forward and scan everything in the next area. There's a hologram in
the back of the room, and when you step on it, you will download the map of
Temple Grounds. There's another one of those spiderweb things nearby, so
destroy it and head through the door on the other side.
-----------
Hive Tunnel
-----------
LOG: Worker Splinter
Make sure you scan the white enemies in this area, and scan the troops hanging
from the ceiling if you want. Exit this area out the door on the opposite side
of the room.
---------------
Command Chamber
---------------
LOG: GSGT C Benet
LOG: SPC B Reevs
LOG: Bomb Slot
LOG: Dark Trooper
Scan the trooper on the ground to your right, and then turn to your left to
scan the second trooper. Kill the Worker Splinters, then press your X button
to use the Morph Ball. Roll under the gate lock, and then press X again to
get out of Morph Ball mode. Kill the other Worker Splinters and scan anything
you see. When you're ready, use your Morph Ball to head through the small gap
in the wall to the right of the flames on the ground.
Lay a bomb with your A button when you hit an obstruction in this tunnel. Roll
into the next part of the room and stand up. Scan everything in this room,
including the Bomb Slot on the back of the pillar in the middle of the room.
Enter Morph Ball mode and line yourself up with the bomb slot. Lay a bomb, and
the blast will bumb you up to the hight of the slot. Once you're in it, lay
another bomb to activate it.
Make sure to scan one of the new ememies that appear, and then eliminate them
all. Roll back through the tunnel into the first half of the Command Chamber
and eliminate the three Dark Troopers in there. Then scan the newly-activated
panel to the left of GSGT C Benet's corpse to open the gate. Eliminate the
next four Dark Troopers and enter the next room.
------------
Hive Storage
------------
Blow up the crates to collect energy if you need it. Exit out the next door.
--------------
Hive Chamber B
--------------
Enter and watch the scene. Walk into the black vortex and continue watching
the scene. When you have control of Samus again, walk past where the vortex
was and look to the right for a Morph Ball tunnel. Enter it and head for the
other side.
--------------
Hive Chamber C
--------------
Eliminate the four Dark Troopers. The door on the right of this room is the
first Save Station.
-----------------
Hive Save Station
-----------------
Save your game in here, and your energy will be recharged. Exit back into Hive
Chamber C when you're done, and then head through the other door in that area.
------------------------
Hive Transportation Area

Scan the small terminal on the left of the elevator to activate it, then step
onto the hologram. Take a left when you get off of the elevator and enter the
Industrial Site.
---------------
Industrial Site
---------------
LOG: GF Bridge (MK II Bridge)
LOG: Green Kralee
LOG: Splinter
There's another MKVI Gate in your way, so scan the terminal on your left to
open the lock armor. Use your beam to destroy the lock in each upper corner of
the gate.
Walk forward and scan the GF Bridge up on the ledge. Then scan the small
terminal to the right of that on the ground, and the large crate will be
hoisted out of your way. Turn to your right and jump up on the ledge there.
You can scan the Green Kralee enemy now, and some Splinter enemies will come
out of the ground, so scan them as well.
Work your way around this ledge until you're standing in front of the GF Bridge
you scanned earlier. Scan the terminal to the left, and then use your beam on
the two exposed locks in each upper corner of the bridge. Walk across it and
head through the next door.
----------------
Collapsed Tunnel
----------------
LOG: PFC M Veroni
Make sure you scan the trooper's corpse on the right side of this small room,
and then head through the Morph Ball tunnel and out the next door.
--------------------
Temple Assembly Site
--------------------
LOG: Splinter Cocoon
Walk forward and jump up on the ledge. Scan one of the Splinter Cocoons on the
wall with the large door (the one that says you can't translate it) and then
get closer to the cocoons to make the Splinters come out. Kill them, then
scan the terminal across from the large door. The wench will start to lower,
but it will get stuck. Hit the cable with some shots from your beam to make it
fall, and then jump on it to get to the next door.
--------------
Dynamo Chamber
--------------
LOG: GF Gate MK VII
Scan the gate above you when you enter the room. Head to the other side of the
hall, scan the machine on the left, and exit the next door.
------------------
Communication Area
------------------
LOG: PFC L Brouda
Head to the other side of the area, scan the troopers body on the ground, and
scan the terminal near him. Continue forward, eliminate the three Dark
Troopers, and enter the next room.
------------------------
Trooper Security Station
------------------------
LOG: Growler Class Turret
LOG: SPC M Angseth
Scan the turret on the ceiling, then hit it with a charge shot to destroy it.
Kill the three Splinters on the ground, then roll through the tunnel on the
right side of the fence that's interfering with your scanning of the terminal.
Scan the trooper on the right side of the terminal, then scan the terminal to
activate the gate. Head back through the tunnel, roll under the gate, and head
into the next area.
-------------
GFMC Compound
-------------
MAP: Inside the Federation ship.
LOG: Dark Splinter
LOG: GFS Tyr
LOG: CAPT A Exeter
LOG: LCPL J Brode
LOG: PFC G Haley
LOG: PFC S Milligan
LOG: SPC F Triplette
LOG: Kinetic Orb Cannon
LOG: PFC I Crany
Enter the room and watch the scene. When you have control of Samus again, turn
around and find the unusual Federation crate with yellow stripes and hit it
with a charge shot. Grab the Missile Launcher from it, and some new enemies
will attack you. Scan one of them, then destroy them all with charge shots.
Time to do a lot of scanning. Start by scanning the large ship, then work your
way around the outside of it, scanning all five of the fallen troopers. Enter
the ship from the ramp underneath it, scan the door in front of you, and step
on the hologram inside to get another map download. Head back into the main
part of the ship and walk to the large hole in the side. Jump out of this hole
onto the ledge.
Turn left and make your way around the ledge. When you see can't go any
farther, scan the small circular thing on the ground. Scan the terminal next
to it, go into Morph Ball mode, and roll onto the hologram. You'll be
launched to the other side of the room. Stand up and walk off of the ledge in
front of you. Run towards the red door, but don't go through it yet. Instead,
roll through the tunnel to the right of it, scan the trooper's body on the
ground, and then go back through the tunnel. Use a missile on the red door to
open it and head through.
-------------
Sacred Bridge
-------------
LOG: PFC E Denys
LOG: War Wasp
Scan the trooper on the ground to the left of the gate, and then roll through
the tunnel on the right side of the gate. Scan one of the War Wasps in the
next area, then kill all three of them. Scan the terminal high up on the ledge
to activate the Kinetic Orb Cannon on the ground, then use it to launch up to
the next door.
-----------
Sacred Path
-----------
LOG: War Wasp Hive
Scan the War Wasp Hive on the right side first, then clear out any nearby War
Wasps. Use a missile on each of the hives to destroy them. Walk to the end of
the clearing, stand on the Kinetic Orb Launcher, and turn left. Scan the
terminal there to activate the orb cannon. Look across from the orb cannon to
find a large section of wall with a huge crack in it. Hit it with a missile,
then get in the orb cannon. Roll through the tunnel, stand up on the other
side, and go through the door on the right.

------------------
Transport A Access
------------------
LOG: Sandbats
The Sandbats are fast, so you'll have to scan one at the bottom-left of the
screen if you want to have time to finish the scan before it gets off the
screen. If you don't manage to do it, don't worry. There will be other
chances later. Roll into the small tunnel on the left and use the save point,
then head through the main door.
----------------
Temple Sanctuary
----------------
LOG: Alpha Splinter
LOG: Dark Alpha Splinter
Walk into the room to fight your first boss battle of the game. Make sure you
scan the Aplha Splinter before you kill it. Simply stay locked on to it and
keep sidestepping in a circle to avoid its attacks. When you kill it, it will
change to Dark Aplha Splinter. Make sure you scan it again, as it's a second
entry in the Log. Fight the dark one in the same manner as the first one (it's
not any different except for some extra energy). When the fight is over, walk
into the ball of light and exit out the only normal door in the room.
--------------------
Controller Transport
--------------------
Nothing of interest here. Just scan the terminal on the left and board the
elevator, exiting out the door at the top.
----------------------
Main Energy Controller
----------------------
LOG: Origins
LOG: U-Mos
LOG: Energy Controller
Walk into the room to start a scene with a Luminoth. Once the scene is over,
scan him, the machinery behind him, and the Luminoth lore on the wall behind
you. (The Luminoth will be kind enough to heal you, too, in case you need it.)
Head back out into the Controller Transport room, down the elevator, and into
the Temple Sanctuary. Only the door on your right is coded in Violet, so go
scan it. Walk through the door behind it into the next room.

LOG: J-Fme's Testament
There's a violet Luminoth gate in this area, so scan it to make it move. Scan
the Luminoth on the ground for a Log entry, then head through the next door.

MISSILE: Behind a spiderweb on the left side of the room.
Scan the terminal to activate the elevator, but don't get on it yet. Instead,
turn to the left of the elevator and destroy the green center of that spiderweb
thing to reveal a Missile Expansion. Turn around and walk to the cliff. On
the right side, there's a violet Luminoth symbol. Scan it, and then walk onto
the elevator hologram. (If you were wondering, yes, you can fall off of the
huge dropoff in this room. It'll take ten energy points and put you back on
the ledge.)

Transport to Temple Grounds
---------------------------
LOG: Agon Bearerpod
Scan the little spiny things on the walls in this room for a Log entry, then
head out the door.
------------
Plaza Access
------------
LOG: Lumite
LOG: Sandgrass
Scan the bat-like things on the walls, then kill them, and walk forward to scan
the tall grass. Exit the area through the next door.
------------
Mining Plaza
------------
LOG: Sandigger
Walk forward, and a new enemy will come out of the ground. Scan it, then kill
it. Farther into the room, you'll see some bats flying high up in the air.
Scan them if you failed to do so earlier, then use a missile to destroy the
blast shiled on the door on the right side of this room.
--------------
Save Station A
--------------
LOG: Blueroot Tree
Save your game. Head up to the upper level and go through the Morph Ball
tunnel. You'll be in some flowing sand when you get to the other side, so
press right to keep from being pulled back to the save point. Once you're out
of the tunnel, stand up and scan the blue plant thing on your left. The next
door in front of you is a dead end, so there's no need to go through it yet.
Instead, head back into the Mining Plaza.
------------
Mining Plaza
------------
Turn right and get on the ledge on the right, ignoring the Sandigger if you
want. Follow the ledge until it hits a wall, and then use a missile on the
cracked rock nearby. It'll make a small bridge when it collapses. Sandbats
will fly around the bridge, so kill them all, and then cross it. Procede
forward to the next cracked rock, hit it with a missile, eliminate the Sandbat
swarm, and head across the rock. Turn left and follow the path, jumping from
rock to rock to get on top of the pillar in the middle of the room. Head for
the door at the end of the path, which is the door they showed you when you
first entered this area.
---------------------
Mining Station Access
---------------------
For now, there's nothing of interest here. Just roll through the Morph Ball
tunnel all the way to the next door.
----------------
Mining Station A
----------------
LOG: Pirate Trooper
LOG: Brizgee
Scan one of the pirates first, then kill all three. Head up the series of
ledges on the right side until you see a small enemy in front of you. Scan it,
then hit it with a missile and quickly finish it off with normal shots. Jump
from the ledge over to the pillar in the middle of the room. Jump from pillar
to pillar until you reach the next ledge (which will have another Brizgee),
then turn left. Work your way around until you see yet another Brizgee.
Eiminate it, then look for the weakened rock formation nearby. Hit it with a
missile to form a bridge. Cross the bridge and enter the next room.
-------------
Temple Access
-------------
LOG: Shriekbat
Approach the Shriekbats slowly and scan them before they start to attack you.
Then eliminate them and enter the temple through the next door.
-----------
Agon Temple
-----------
LOG: Alpha Sandigger
LOG: Bomb Guardian
Walk to the center area of this screen. When the large Sandigger comes out of
the ground, scan it. It will change form after a little bit, so make sure you
scan it again. Beating the Bomb Guardian isn't too hard. Just keep avoiding
the bombs, then blasting it while it's mouth is open. (It opens it's mouth
before most major attacks, such as the one where it sprays bombs up into the
air.) Once it's dead, take the Bomb upgrade by walking into it. Blow open the
gate and head for the next door (not the one you entered this room from).
-----------------
Controller Access
-----------------
Simply perform a bomb jump to get in the Bomb Slot, set off a bomb, and exit
the room out of the only door.
----------------------
Agon Energy Controller
----------------------
LOG: Saving Aether
In the back of the room, you'll find a fallen Luminoth and a projector. Scan
the projector to start a scene. You'll be given another translator upgrade
that will permit you to read amber Luminoth codes. On your way out of this
room, look to the right side of the door for another Lore entry in your log.

Station A.
----------------
Mining Station A
----------------
LOG: Cataclysm
Turn left and look up at the metal mining thing. See the amber Luminoth icon
in it? You can scan that from where you're standing to get another Lore entry.
Head to the amber encoded door on the other side of the room and enter it.

Sand Cache
----------
MISSILE: Just sitting there in the middle of the room.
Grab the missiles and go back to Mining Station A.
If you want to go on a small trip to get a few items and save your game, read
the indented section below. If you just want to continue the story, skip the
indented section and open the door on the lower part of this area that leads to
Portal Access A.
-------------
Mining Access
-------------
ENERGY TANK: Use a bomb on the block in the center, and an orb cannon
will boost you up to a small alcove with the energy tank.
Roll into the center thing where the view changes, drop a bomb, and the
orb cannon will boost you up to an energy tank. Drop back down and head
into Mining Plaza.
------------
Mining Plaza
------------
LOG: Paradise
Walk across the bridge to the pillar in the center of the area. There's
another Luminoth Lore thing to scan there, so do so now. Next, use your
newest translator upgrade to open the door on the right side of the area.
Use a bomb to clear the black rocks out of the tunnel behind the door, and
then enter the tunnel.
----------------
Agon Map Station
----------------
Walk onto the hologram to download the map, then head through Mining Plaza
to Save Station A. Save your game, then backtrack into Mining Plaza,
through Mining Station Access, and into Mining Station A. From there,
enter the door on the lower-right of the room to enter Portal Access A.
---------------
Portal Access A
---------------
MISSILE: Behind the Luminoth on the ground, either roll in or drop in.
Enter the orb cannon, then head through the tunnel at the top. There's a
missile expansion behind the Luminoth on the ground. You can carefully roll
into that area from the left side (where the orb cannon is), or you can get in
the cannon and drop in from the top. Head through the next door when you're
ready.

Portal Terminal
---------------
LOG: Dark Pirate Trooper
LOG: Light of Aether
LOG: Pillbug
LOG: Dark Portal
Kill the two pirates, and they will change into Dark Pirate Troopers. Remember
to scan one of them after they change, then kill them. There's a Lore entry
below the left side of the ramp at the end of the room, so make sure you scan
it. Next, get in the Bomb Slot on the right side of the ramp and use a bomb.
Roll onto the moving ladder thing, use a bomb when you can't roll any farther,
and then roll out into the open platform. Stand up, turn to your left, and
jump to the little platform below.
Scan the small enemies for a Log entry, then start making your way through that
area using bombs. Once you destroy the second little red cylinder in this
tunnel, the lense will activate the portal. Drop down to the main area again
and scan the small red circle on the left side of the ramp. Scan the portal
for a Log entry, then jump through it.

Portal Site
-----------
LOG: Light Portal
LOG: Bladepod
LOG: Light Crystal
LOG: Light Beacon
Scan the little cirlce on the left side of the portal to activate the Light
Portal, and scan the Light Portal for a Log entry. Scan the thin things around
the portal area for another Log entry, then run out of this safe zone and into
the next one. Scan the Light Crystal in the center of it, then scan the Light
Beacon farther in front of you to get two more Log entries.
Shoot the Light Beacon with a normal shot of your beam, then run out of the
safe zone you're in, go through the one you just created, and then jump up onto
the ledge on the left where the second Light Crystal is. Use a bomb in the
Bomb Slot, then head through the door.
----------
Crossroads
----------
LOG: Inglet
Activate the safe zone and run all the way through it and into the next one.
Scan the new enemies here for a Log entry, then exit out the next door.
--------------
Save Station 2
--------------
Simply work your way through the room and save at the save point, then exit
quickly through the next door.
--------------
Duelling Range
--------------
LOG: Warrior Ing
LOG: Lightbringer
Turn left and head for the Light Crystal. Scan the enemy that appears, then
blast it until it dies. Continue forward into the next safe zone and turn
right. Scan the little thing crawling on the wall for another Log entry, then
follow it to the top of the ledge. Turn right to jump to the pillar in the
middle of the room, then follow that path to the next door, using the
Lightbringer to stay safe.
-------------
Junction Site
-------------
Nothing of interest here, just roll through the tunnel and exit the other side.
------------
Judgment Pit
------------
LOG: Jump Guardian
Run into the safe zone in the middle of the room and be ready for a fight.
He'll jump around the area, firing blasts of light at you. When he's on the
ground, simply sidestep the blasts of light and pound on him, making sure you
stay inside the safe zone. When he jumps, look up to the ledges and find him
again. Keep shooting him while he's up there, but when he gets ready to jump,
be prepared to jump over the shockwave he causes when he hits the ground.
Keep this pattern going until he dies, then take the Space Jump Boots.

------------
Judgment Pit
------------
Jump up to the ledge near where you got the Space Jump Boots and work your way
around. There's nothing of interest in the first door you come to, so keep
going past it. You'll have to use your Space Jump Boots to get across these
higher ledges, then open the missile door on the other side of the room.
-----------------------
Dark Agon Temple Access
-----------------------
Just make your way through this area and enter the Dark Agon Temple through the
door at the other end.
----------------
Dark Agon Temple
----------------
If you scan the thing in front of you, you'll discover that your next task is
to collect several keys to access the temple. Turn left and enter the first
door you come to.
------------
Trial Tunnel
------------
[DARK TEMPLE KEY]
Well, it's not really a tunnel... grab the first key in this room, then head
back through Dark Agon Temple to Dark Agon Temple Access, then to Judgment Pit.
Enter the blue door on the lower section across the room from your current
position.
-------------
Portal Access
-------------
Run to the other side as fast as possible so you don't lose too much energy.
Enter the Portal Site from the next door and head for the portal. Scan the
thing on the left side of it to activate it, then walk through.
--- Light Aether - Agon Wastes ---
---------------
Portal Terminal
---------------
There will be three Space Pirates to deal with, so either eliminate them or run
past them. Enter the newly-opened door on the left of the other side of the
room.
----------------
Transport Center
----------------
MISSILE: Use the Bomb Slot to drop the gate, then take the missiles.
Enter the room and use the Bomb Slot to get a missile expansion. If you want
to save your game, continue through this room to Save Station A, then
backtrack to Mining Station A. If you don't want to save, just get back in
Portal Terminal and head to Mining Station A from there, since it's faster than
taking a detour from Save Station A.
----------------
Mining Station A
----------------
Head up to the upper level and jump on the statue. There's a path to the left,
so jump up there and walk to the end. If you've been following this guide,
you should have already scanned the Luminoth Lore entry in front of you, but if
you haven't, do so now. Then scan the terminal to open the gate. Head back
down the path and jump from the statue's head to the next door.
----------------------
Central Station Access
----------------------
Slaughter the two Space Pirates, scan the new type of crate (not a Log entry),
and exit through the missile door.
----------------------
Central Mining Station
----------------------
LOG: Vigilance Class Turret
Enter the room and fight off the two pairs of Space Pirates. Two more will
enter and take control of two Vigilance Class Turrets in the upper corners of
the room. Make sure you scan one of the turrets, then destroy them both. Head
through the door behind where the beams used to be.
---------------------
Command Center Access
---------------------
The only door out of here is Dark, so you won't be able to open it. Instead,
use a bomb on either of the two weakened panels in the grating on the floor
and roll underneath the grating. Bomb the crates and roll through the tunnel.
--------------
Command Center

MISSILE: Coming from Command Center Access, take the first right when rolling
under the floor and follow it to the end.

Roll under the grating and take a right when you can, flowing the path to the
end for a missile expansion. Then head back and take the left path. Stand up
when you get to the end of the tunnel under the floor. Kill the Space Pirates
in the room, then start scanning everything. There's tons to scan, so make
sure you get everything off of the list up above.
Once you've scanned everything, scan the terminal by the elevator and step on
the hologram. Jump on the platform and work your way around. There's another
pirate up here, so take care of him to get the lock on the blue door released.
Approach the door, and another pirate will fire at you through the glass on the
right. Kill him, use a missile on the door, and walk into the next room.
------------------
Security Station B
------------------
LOG: 70136
You can't do anything with the gate yet, but you can scan past it for another
Lore entry. Then take a right and enter the second door to the Command Center.
--------------
Command Center
--------------
In this little glass area, there's a terminal that will open the large metal
door below, so scan it and anything else you missed from earlier. Then go back
through Security Station B and into the main part of the Command Center (for
some reason, you can't go through the shattered glass in that little area, even
in Morph Ball mode...). Head through the new door where the large metal lock
used to be.
-----------------
Biostorage Access
-----------------
LOG: Humility Class Turret
Scan one of the turrets, then destroy them both with a charge shot. Sneak
through the laser grid, hit the door with a missile, and continue forward (make
sure you have your scan visor active, since you will need to make a very fast
scan).

LOG: Pirate Skiff
LOG: Tallon Metroid
LOG: Log 63622
Immediately lock your scanner onto the ship that takes off to scan it before it
can get away. Eliminate the pirate that fires at you from the platform on your
left, then scan the terminal and board the elevator. Walk around this area and
take care of the other pirates. Scan the Metroids in the large case for a Log
entry, then walk to the right and around to the other side of the large Metroid
case. Scan the computers there for another Log entry, then enter the next
door.

Security Station A

Use a bomb in the Bomb Slot, then procede to the next room. (I don't know why
they put this type of room in the game... all it does is waste your time...)
--------------------
Bioenergy Production
--------------------
ENERGY TANK: On a high ledge, you'll need to use the storage units to reach it
(see explanation below).
LOG: Pirate Aerotrooper
Scan one of the flying pirates, then kill them both. Head to the right side of
the room and scan the terminal in the middle to activate the storage units.
Head to the controls on the opposite side of the room now. There are three
sets of controls; Alpha (right), Beta (center), and Gamma (left). Start by
scanning the left control module of the Alpha set three times to raise all
three storage units. Then scan the left module of the Beta set twice to raise
two units, and finish by scanning the left module of the Gamma set once to
raise one unit. Use the storage units as a large staircase and grab the Energy
Tank, then return to the controls.
This time, scan the right module on the Alpha set twice, then scan the left
module on the Gamma set twice (don't touch the Beta set at all). The platforms
will now be aligned so you can make it to the door up there, so go walk through
it.

Ventilation Area B

Use a bomb to boost yourself into the tunnel, then work your way through the
tunnel, preferably without zapping yourself too many times on the lasers. Use
a missile on the next door and procede.
