The Pet System [HeroPet]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
From the very beginning of the game, there will be a pet following you at all
times. You can buy various food for this pet, scold it and praise it. Depending
on how happy the pet is, it will help you in battles, and more importantly,
find items. The thing is, that the pet will appear at random times in battle no
matter how happy or angry it is. When it's happy, it will support your
characters with spells that raises defense and similar stats, and when its
angry, it will attack your enemies. You can not control the pet yourself. When
walking around, the pet will find random items for you. Usually, having a happy
pet is best for finding the most items, so make sure you feed it and praise it.
However, buying the cheapest food and feeding it to the pet often is more than
good enough. In fact, the pet system is very underdeveloped, and is much more
of a gimmck than a real feature - unfortunately.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Battle System [HeroBat]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Just like in any other oldskool RPG, the battle system in A Tear of Vermillion
is turn based. The difference however, is that after you've attacked the
enemies with, say a melee attack, your character will not move back to his or
her original position. If the target enemy is far away, your character might
not even be able to attack in one turn at all. It's important to not use melee
attacks on enemies that are far away, and it can also be wise to target the
same enemy with all of your characters, until the targeted foe is defeated.
It is important to heal your character using either potions and items or
healing spells. You can heal in battles, or while not being in a battle at all.
The battle menu gives you quite a few choices. Here, I will explain them all:
Attack
-------
This option makes your character attack using his or her equipped weapon.
A completely standard melee attack in other words.
Magic
------
This is what you use in order to do magic attacks. After pressing 'magic' in
the battle menu you need to choose what kind of magic alignment you want to
use. There are alignments like White Magic (healing and stats-boost),
Black Magic (spells that damage your enemies) and Spirit Magic (spells that
damage lots of enemies at once). Remember that magic attacks do cost MP.
Deadly
-------
The strongest attacks in the game. Can only be used when he power meter for
the character you want to attack with is filled. The meter fills automatically
as you fight.
Skill
------
Skills are abilities that your characters learn as they level up. Some skills
are usual attacks, while others make your characters able to steal items from
your enemies and so on.
Item
-----
You can also use items in battle, like potions that give your characters HP,
MP or boost their stats. Your character will have to wait with other actions
until next turn after using an item. Even if you use an item with one
character, you can make another one recieve the effect of the item, by
targeting the receiver after selecting the item.
Wait
-----
This option should really have been named 'move', since you can move your
character after selecting it. If you move your character, you will not be able
to attack during the same turn. Useful for attracting enemies that won't reach
you after all, and then attacking them the next turn when they are within your
range.
Escape
------
Makes your party run away from battle. You can not run away from boss battles,
and escaping does not give you any experience points at all. Not recommended
unless you feel like you're going to get defeated.
Finally, Remember this:
-> Melee and other standard attacks do not cost anything to use
-> Magic Spells cost Mana (MP) to use, but MP can be refilled by using items
-> Skills cost nothing to use
-> Water is good against fire etc.
-> 'Deadly' is an attack that can only be used when the power meter is full
-> The power meter is filled slowly during battles
-> 'Wait' gives you the opportunity to move your character
-> You can not control pets yourself
-> When you target an enemy with skills or magic but the target dies before
You get to attack, your skill/magic will not be used. If you used a normal
attack however, it will be used on another target.
-> Monsters drop Pia
-> 1 Pia is worth 5 Roze. Exchange at the various shops in the game.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Main Menu [HeroMen]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
You can access the main menu at any time, when not in battle or in a
conversation with someone. Use the Square button to access it. There are
various choices in the menu, and I will explain them as best as I can here.
Equip
-----
This is where you equip weapons, armor and accessories you have found or
bought. After pressing 'equip', use the L and R buttons to browse between the
characters in your party. You always need to manually equip stuff - do not
forget that.
Item
-----
This is where you use items like potions, read about your equipment, or read
in the books you have found. Should not require more of an explanation.
Magic
------
Outside of battle, you can also use magic spells. Use L and R to browse
between party members, and their magic spells. You will be using the magic
option a lot for healing spells both after and before battles.
Map
----
This is a map over El Phildin. You can not look at the map before Avin and
Mile have been certified as adventurers. The map is not very important, but
serves as a quick reminder of where the various towns, cities and villages are
located.
History
--------
Serves as a log over what has happened in El Phildin in recent years and
ancient times. You gain more entries by reading books, and most importantly,
just progressing in the game's storyline.
Data
-----
This is where you save your game, load already existing savegames, or delete
them. You can save whenever you want, and as many times as you feel like.
System
-------
Here you can set the message speed, configure the button layout (controls)
and turn word balloons ON or OFF.
The main menu also displays your amount of Roze, Pia, and the HP, MP and level
of your current party members.

Frequently Asked Questions [HeroFaq]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: I heard this isn't really the first game in the series.
A: Correct. This is really the fourth one in Japan.

Introduction To Storyline [HeroFor]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A long time before The Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion and its events
begin, there was a conflict between two gods named Bardus and Octum. Octum
wanted to destroy the world, and Bardus wanted to keep the current world, and
continue developing it. The two of them fought, and Bardus eventually managed
to seal Octum away with a powerful spell. However, because of this, Bardus also
lost his power and had to split his body into six parts, and let the goddess
Durga guard them, so that he would not completely disappear.
Many, many years later, in the very same world that the two gods where fighting
about, humans have made two religions - The Church of Bardus and Octum's
Apostles. These two religions are competitors, and the humans have fought many
battles against each other because of disagreements relating to the religions.
Even though the Octum Apostles might sound evil, they just think that the
current world is not worth keeping, and that it would be better to just destroy
it and have the gods start from the beginning again. In other words, they want
a purification. With this said, the apostles often use extreme methods to reach
their goals.
The Church of Bardus however, wants the current world to exist, and do not wish
for purification through destruction. In spite of this, the leaders of the
church are corrupt, and the donations that are given to them, often flow
straight into their pockets. Just like what a certain religion here in the real
world has been known for in the past.
The plot that's being fed to you while playing the game, and not before or
after the game, is that Avin's sister is believed to have a direct link to the
goddess Durga, and that she can make miracles happen. This also means that
Avin's sister is directly connected to the gods Bardus and Octum - through the
goddess Durga. To find out what's going to happen to Avin and his sister, you
will need to play the game. Good luck!

Beginnings [Avin001]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items To Find
--------------
Note to Elder
Red Marbles
Letter to Sage
Phylactery
Kabessa
Fresh Cabbage
Fresh Tomato
Watch the opening sequence where you are introduced to Avin and Eimelle, that
are feeding a cat with milk, and talking about hiding the animal so that the
professors won't be able to find it. A professor named Ollesia suddenly
catches them. Before anything else happens, the nearby guards are killed by
someone named Bellias. Ollesia takes Avin and Eimelle and escapes, while an
old priest buys them some time by fighting Bellias and his men. After a while,
a man named Sage Gawaine protects Avin, when he's attacked by Bellias' men..
Some days later after being separated from his sister, Avin wakes up in an old
house in the village Ourt, where another Sage, Lemuras, is living. Avin eats
some breakfast, and is then told to bring a letter to the local elder. Avin
receives Note to Elder.
Walk south and follow the path the only way it leads until you reach Ourt
Village. Lemuras' house was only in the outskirts of this village. Walk south
to the tools shop and talk to the man behind the counter to receive some Red
Marbles. Elder Roan can be found in the big house west of the tools shop, so go
give him the letter from Lemuras. A boy will appear outside of the house, so
follow him east when he runs away, and then talk to him. His name is Mile. you
will have to play tag with him a little now. The places Mile runs off to are
following: East of elder's house-> Cabbage field-> Bridge south of elder's
house-> Inside elder's house. Back here, the elder will give Avin the Letter to
Sage, and explain that Mile is not used to other kids. Well, head north out of
the village, talk to Mile to hear about the upcoming festival, and then return
to Lemuras' house.
+ Festival
Some days later the festival is about to begin, and Mile comes to pick up Avin.
When Mile has joined the party, head south to Ourt, where the elder is about to
hold a speech in the cabbage field. After that, head a little east to the
village well and examine it to find a Phylactery. Then, walk to the southern
side of the tools shop and examine the colored items there to find another one.
After the festival, some years will pass, and the two boys will grow up.
Lemuras tells Avin to search for a sage named Dinerken, to gain power. Open the
treasure chest right of Lemuras' bed to find the Kabessa. You will be
instructed to take this item to Dinerken, and then.. Lemuras says goodbye to
this world. This was a little sad, in my own opinion.
Now you will get Lemuras' pet on your team. Just walk a little south to the
nearby wagon, and then examine the pet to get a Sp. Arcanum 1. When you go near
the pet and examine it, you can also scold, praise or feed it. The best thing
is that the pet can find items for you, just like it did a second ago. It can
also assist you in battle. Try to praise the pet often, if you want it to find
items for you often. If it is happy, it will raise your defense in battle,
while it will attack enemies when its angry. Don't worry about feeding it
yet. I will not mention the items that the pet finds, as they are always
healing items, mana refillers and so on. When you run out of a standard item
like that, the pet will find more for you - all the time. Its not really a deep
system. Just remember to praise your pet! And also remember that the pet is
most useful for finding items, not for doing battle. Before heading south, save
your game from the main
menu.
In Ourt, speak to the elder and then go to the southwest exit of the town to
see Mile. He says that he wants to follow Avin on his journey, and tells him
to go see the elder to get permission to leave - well, do that. The elder says
that there is a huge and dangerous monster named Hamakages that is on the
loose, and that it is dangerous to go on a journey right now. Head over to
Mile's house, and prepare for some hilarious bad dialog Mile is
fighting with his parents over leaving on a journey. Go the to cabbage field
after the conversation and pick up some Fresh Cabbage, and then head back to
the southwest exit to get a Fresh Tomato by speaking to Fam, who is guarding
the exit. Now head back to Mile's house to deliver the cabbage, then get back
to the exit again to lure Fam away by telling him that there's french fries
waiting for him. This way, you can now leave the village.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Goodbye Ourt [Avin002]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items To Find
--------------
Beast Claw
Swordmaster 1
Donation Box
Silver Anklet
Wooden Shield
Now, outside of Ourt Village, you will be able to fight monsters. The exit of
this field in the the far northwest corner, so head towards there. Fight all
the monsters that you meet, as they are very weak and easy to beat. You will
notice that the battle system is turn based, and that you can use magic,
standard attacks, skills and something named Deadly. Deadly attacks can only be
used when your power meter is full. This meter fills when you fight. Continue
following the path, fighting enemies, and use Mile's white magic spells to heal
back to full health. You will run into a young man screaming about the monster
Hamakages. His name is Martie, and he has been sent here to deal with
Hamakages. One thing leads to another, and soon you will be fighting Hamakages.
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Boss: Big Hamakages |
|--------------------+--------------------+----------------------------------+
| HP: 150 | Recommended lv: 2 | |
|--------------------+--------------------+ |
| This is the first boss battle in the game, against the monster Hamakages. |
| Martie joins you in this one, which is why you have three party members. |
| Anyways, start by doing normal attacks if none of your party members have |
| their Power Meter charged full. Once someone has their meter full, use |
| a deadly attack to kill the boss. One of them should be more than enough, |
| even this early in the game. If you can't seem to fill up the meter, or |
| don't want to do it at all, just do melee attacks, and use Miles to heal |
| Avin and Martie when they need more health. |
| Reward: Silver Anklet |
| |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Avin gets a Beast Claw to prove that he and Mile are strong enough to go on a
journey, so take that claw, 50 Roze and head back the village. The whole bunch
of people there are waiting for you. You are eventually allowed to leave. When
you have left the day after, go back to the village once more and talk to the
lady in the tool shop to receive a swordmaster 1 book. Try and collect all the
books in this series throughout the game!
Also, before leaving the village again buy some pet food and a Wooden Shield
for Avin, and equip him with it, as well as with the Silver Anklet you got from
beating Hamakages. Now, finally, leave the village for real! Oh yeah, save your
game before leaving the village.
Walk north from where you killed the Hamakages monster until you reach a fork
in the road, with a sign near. The sign says that the capital is to the left,
so head left. Follow the path, fight all the enemies, and heal using Mile's
magic when needed, and you will eventually reach the capital Phildin at the end
of the path. For your information, Phildin is split into several parts, like on
the very simple maps I made. Check the maps section to look at them.
Now that you hopefully have gotten to know the capital a little better,
head to the Northeast part of town and the exit to Tibri. Martie is there.
Avin tries to follow him, but is stopped by a guard, because the dangerous
Syamseal gang is on the loose outside of town. Very well then, Avin and Mile
are absolutely not allowed to use this path without permission, says the guard.
Miles has an idea about going to the Adventurer Guild in town, so do that. The
guild is located on your west side - just go left from the fountain. Talk to
the man behind the counter there and you will be asked to get donations for the
church. Head over to Zaria's donations straight north of the guild to get the
Donation Box from Zaria. Below is a list of the donators you need to talk to.
As earlier, check the maps section in this document to find out where people
live.
Northeast Phildin Donators
-------------------------------------
Fana, in the cellar of Claude's house
Zucca, in his own house
Fururu's mom, below Zucca's house
Northwest Phildin Donators
--------------------------
Amelia, in her house
Edda, in her house
Mrs Zeal, in her house
South Phildin Donators
--------------------------
Paddy, in the Tool shop
Trine, in the Weapon shop
Jyamane, in the inn
bartender, in the inn
Yan, in his house
Karamus, in his house
Once you have all the donations, head back to Zaria and deliver all the
donations you have gathered. After a little verbal fighting, head back to the
guild and talk to Meister. He will reward you with 50 Roze for the job. Now,
the girl named Fururu will come running into the guild. She says that her
stuffed pet fell down in the river, and most likely ended up in the waterways.
Avin and Mile accept a new mission - getting the stuffed pet back! Well then,
head down into the waterways, which can be found a little southeast of the
guild. The entrance is on lower ground, so you will have to drop down
there, or use the stairs.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Meeting Muse [Avin003]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items To Find
-------------------
Bang Bang
Leather Boots
Explorer Map
Long Boomerang
Buckler
Swordmaster 2
Fight all the monsters you meet and then walk until you meet a *ehrm..* good
looking *ehrm..* girl that is being pursuded by someone. The girl escapes after
explaining that she's called Muse. Head south after Muse has escaped and follow
the path until you find Bang Bang, the missing stuffed pet. Head back to the
guild and deliver Bang Bang to Fururu. Meister gives Avin and Mile another 50
Rozen. Now you can walk to Fururu's house, and she will give you Swordmaster 2.
After that, head back to the guild to get your third mission.
Your last task is to go find Martie. Well, head to northwestern part of
town and to the house where the fighting couple lives. Talk to Martie, since he
is there, trying to calm them down. Mile will do a trick, involving flowers, to
cheer up the couple, and then, return to the guild with Martie in your party.
Now, head south out of town to where you first came from, but instead of
heading towards Ourt, head north to Gemstone Stope when you get to the fork in
the road. Once you reach Jewel Road, head northwest to find the exit, then
straight north in the next area. Remember to fight monsters, and to heal
afterwards. If you don't like battles, this is not a game for you. You will
reach the stope, where some workers are standing outside, complaining about
monsters in their mine. Head inside to investigate after you have saved your
game.
+ Gemstone Stope Mine
Inside the mine, head straight north to see that lovely girl named Muse again,
arguing with some bad guys. You will have to fight these men, along with Muse.
Winning is easy, if you just remember to use Muse's Spirit Salamander Spell,
which deals damage to all the enemies participating in the battle. Muse
explains that those men were members of the Syamseal Gang that has been
bothering the townspeople back in the capital. Your mission will be to kill all
the monsters that these bad guys have released into the mine. First start by
killing all the monsters in the part of the mine you are in now. A god tip for
fighting them, is using Avin and Martie's stone blast, which can damage several
monsters in one blow. Do not rush into battle all the time, as it can be
smarter to use 'wait' the first turn so that the monsters move closer, but
can't hit before the next turn. With all the monsters in this part of the mine
dead, head north from where you fought the Syamseal guys.
In this area, you can go straight east to find two chests with Leather Boots
and 200 Roze in. Equip the boots on Avin or Mile. Once all the monsters are
dead, Muse will make it clear, so head back to Phildin once you're done.
Before going back to the Adventurer Guild, head to the Weapons Shop and buy a
Long Boomerang for Mile and a Buckler for Muse. Remember to equip them, and to
sell the old equipment. Meister in the guild gives you 100 Roze for the job, as
well as an Explorer Map, that can be accessed from the main menu from now on.
Now, you might want to talk a little to the citizens in Phildin, to read some
lovely conversations between Muse and the people you talk to, and then, if you
feel ready, head towards Tibri. The exit you're going to have to use is located
in the northeast part of northeast Phildin.
Follow Tibri Highway the only way it leads, and fight all the monsters you
meet. As always remember healing. You will eventually run over some bridges,
and reach a chest with a Rare Potion in. After that, some soldiers will come
running from Tibri, saying that the Syamseal Gang have taken over Tibri. After
the soldiers have escaped, walk north towards Tibri village.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Saving Villagers In Tibri [Avin004]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items To Find
+------------------------------------+
| Bonds of Life | Rare Potion |
| Sp Arcanum 1 | Defender |
| Sp Arcanum 3 | Sp Arcanum 2 |
| Silver Anklet | Pearl Bracelet |
| Bezant Armor | Rupture Rod |
| Royal Powder | Green Crystal |
| Bastard Sword | Kabessa |
+------------------------------------+
Once you arrive outside of Tibri, some soldiers explain that the villagers have
been taken hostage, and that the Syamseal Gang wants 'The Book of Life' in
order to let the villagers free. So, head back to the Guild in Phildin to tell
Meister about what's going on. After speaking to him, go to the library and ask
Professor Logos about the book. The professor gives you an ancient soap opera
named 'Bonds of Life' instead, planning to trick the bad guys back in Tibri
with it. Before heading back to Tibri, sleep at the upper floor of the inn to
regain HP and MP, and exchange your Pia into Rozes at the Tools Shop. I
recommend spending the money you received at the weapons shop. Get
'Bezant Armor', 'Rupture Rod' and 'Bastard Sword'. Equip them and then sell the
old equipment for some Roze.
When you try to leave town, the guard will tell you that new
rules have been introduced, and that you are not allowed to pass. Muse however,
knows how to persuade him, so head all the way back to Tibri. When you get
there, a man named General Diren blows Muse's cover, and explains that she's
really the princess of the country - Mildine Uriel Silviana Esmelas.
Diren explains that the villagers of Tibri are trapped in a house in the
northwest side of the village, and that this house will be burned if someone
tries to save them. Diren enters the village with the fake book, and Avin and
his party sneaks in, jumping over the fences to hide. The leader of the gang,
Fatima, has taken another hostage that she keeps near her at all times, named
Shannon. Avin saves the hostages trapped in the house, the soldiers make the
gang escape, but they manage to take Shannon with them. The soldiers report
that the gang might be hiding near Ziziki Cave, the place that Avin and his
friends will have to go to next. But before that, talk to chief Rudo to get
some rest. You can find him near the southern village entrance.
When you've woken up fully healed, save your game and head south out of Tibri,
and then east towards Ziziki Cave. You'll see a chest when you reach the path
to Ziziki, so open it for a Sp Arcanum 1. Southeast of this chest you can find
another one containing a Rare Potion. Continue further east to exit this area.
In the next area, simply follow the only path there is, and walk into the cave
when you see it.
+ Ziziki Cave
Once inside the cave, head north to find a Defender. Let Martie equip it, and
then head northwest to get to the next part of the cave. This area is a little
difficult to maneuver in, so first go NORTH until you reach the wall then EAST,
to find a chest with 200 Roze in. From this chest, go SOUTH and follow the path
until you can exit this part of the cave at the other side of the water near
the chest where you got 200 Roze.
Walk left over a bridge, then when you see two smaller ones take the southern
one to find a chest with Sp Arcanum 2 in. With that item found, take the
northern small bridge instead and then walk north over yet another bridge.
Do not forget to heal your party now, as you will soon be facing a battle.
Follow the only path you can see from here, to another area, and continue
running until Mile hears a voice somewhere in the dark. You will now see the
bandits and Shannon, having perverse thoughts about her 'prince'. Fatima now
escapes, and you will have to kill her grunts.

Avin and friends will now head back to Tibri to deliver Shannon back to her
mother and father. Muse and Dirken will now leave and travel back to the castle
in the capital, which means one member less in your party. And here we go -
Martie leaves too! Well, Only Mile and Avin is left now. Go to the chief's
house to restore your health. If you're really hungry for some rewards, go all
the way back to Phildin and see Meister in the guild, the bartender at the inn,
and Elcy at the inn. You will earn 500 Roze, a healthy drink, and a Pearl
Bracelet. Let Avin equip that one. If you talk to the other citizens in town,
all of them seem to know you better now that you have freed the people of
Tibri. Head back to Tibri when you are done, and exit using the northeastern
exit.
+ Prayer Woods
Before reaching the sage you are looking for to complete Lemuras' will, you
will need to walk through prayer woods. Once there, walk east and then north to
find two chests with a Green Crystal and 100 Roze. Don't bother equipping the
crystal - sell it next time you get to a shop instead. From here follow the
path northeast until the screen fades and you reach a new area. Go straight
north for a chest with a Silver Anklet. Let Mile equip it. Also, in the middle
northern part of this area is another chest, containing some Royal Powder for
reviving dead party members. After you've got that, head northeast to the
Sage's Mansion.
+ Sage's Mansion
Walk inside the mansion, straight forward, to meet Dinerken. Avin gives him the
Kabessa that he got from Lemuras and Dinerken explains that Avin's sister,
Eimelle, is being targeted by bad people because she's supposed to be the
daughter of the goddess Durga. She' supposed to exit in order to make Marcel's
on behalf of the goddess, he says. Unfortunately, Avin does not get a lot of
information about his sister, and has to leave after speaking to Dinerken.
Start walking back to the capital Phildin.
You will meet a girl and a man, saying that they want the kabessa that Avin
handed over to Dinerken earlier. After getting trapped and hit unconscious by
the two, Avin and Mile is saved by the lumberer. They are brought back to
Shannon's house, and promise to return for dinner later. After that scene, head
back to Dinerken's house, northeast of Tibri. When attacked by the girl and
man, Mile will use a Riebe Leaf to break the spell. The two escape, and
Dinerken tells you about the conflict between the god Bardus and Octum.
Many, many years ago Bardus sealed Octum away, but had to part his body into
six, and entrust the parts to the goddess Durga. This resulted in two
religions, The Church of Bardus and Octum's Apostles. Avin regains the Kabessa
when Dinerken tells him to bring it back to the church in Valkd. Don't worry
about that for now, though. This is where chapter 2 starts, so watch the
cut-scene. Avin and Mile now decide to have dinner at Shannon's house, so go
there.

Shannon has decided that she wants to follow Mile on a journey, so be quick and
escape back to Phildin before she notices you (not that it is possible that she
does after all) and then head northwest out of town towards Borun.
+ Capital Passage
You will now be walking on the capital passage. Walk south until the screen
fades, then on the west side there is a chest containing a Rare Potion.
Continue south until you see the beach. Go down to the beach and look for a new
chest containing a Fine Shield. Do not equip it, but save it for the next shop.
Before doing anything else, make sure that you are level 8 and that Mile has
learned the spell named 'La Rare', which is good to have when many characters
need healing at once later in the game.
Continue following the only path there is - northwest from the beach - and then
ignore the next beach you get to. Between some trees you will see another chest
containing a Blue Crystal. Let Avin equip it. From that chest, go west to enter
Borun. As always, check the maps section of this document to get information
about where to find things.
+ Borun
Talk to the kids that come running towards you, and then if you want to, go to
the raffle house in order to win some great prizes. You can also skip the
raffles section below completely, if you don't want rewards that badly.
-------------------------------------
The Borun Raffle Game [BoruRaf]
-------------------------------------
On the upper floor of the raffle house you can buy turns (50 Roze each) and
play the raffle game. There are ten different tickets to win - the best being
1st, the worst being 10th. It is also possible to not win any ticket at all.
To make sure you don't end up like a poor old cow, save your game before
playing the raffle game.
Anyways, downstairs you can exchange smaller numbered tickets you've won into
higher numbered ones, and also exchange tickets directly into prizes. Just like
there's 10 different tickets to win upstairs, there's 10 prizes you can
exchange the tickets into downstairs. As an example, you need the 3rd ticket to
win the 3rd prize. Hope you understood my explanation. Below is a chart
displaying the prizes you can win.
1st Prize - Treasure Sword Kasnard
2nd Prize - Targe
3rd Prize - Gold Anklet
4th Prize - Skuld Elixir
5th Prize - Theresia Water
6th Prize - Infernal Talisman
7th Prize - Bubble Talisman
8th Prize - Stimulant
9th Prize - Sp Arcanum 2
10th Prize - Rarer Potion
The raffle game is based on choosing one out of three options, three times,
before you get your result. In other words, you need to choose in all three
out of nine different options each time you want to play. The choices are:
First Choices
-------------------
[1] Immediately - [2] After a moment - [3] After making a wish.
Second Choices
--------------------
[1] Slowly - [2] At normal speed - [3] quickly.
Third Choices
-------------------
[1] First Prize! - [2] Any Prize Will Do - [3] No wish.
Now, the game is based around picking the correct combination of choices, and
having luck at the same time. In other words, you will not get the same prize
five times in a row, even if you pick out the same choices. However, specific
combinations are required for you to have a decent chance of winning the best
prizes. I recommend trying to get 1st Prize and 3rd Prize and equip them on
your partymembers, and if you get any other ones (you will), you can earn lots
of money by selling them in a tools or weapon shop. Below are the combinations
you should try over and over again until you win the nice prizes. Be prepared
to try each of the combinations at least ten times before winning what you
want.
To get 1st prize: [3] - [1] - [3] or [1] - [3] - [2]
To get 2nd prize: [3] - [1] - [3]
To get 3nd prize: [1] - [3] - [2]
To get 4th prize: [2] - [1] - [2]
To get 5th prize: [1] - [2] - [1] or [2] - [2] - [1]
To get 6th prize: [2] - [2] - [1]
To get 7th prize: [2] - [1] - [1] or [2] - [1] - [3]
To get 8th prize: [2] - [1] - [1]
To get 9th prize: [2] - [1] - [1]
To get 10. prize: [2] - [3] - [3] or [3] - [3] - [1]
Make sure you equip the Treasure Sword Kasnard on Avin. Try to get two 3rd
prizes and equip one on Avin and one on Mile. The rest of the prizes, you can
sell at the tools shop in Borun. Of course you can also farm up on the 1st
prize sword and sell several of them for loads of money. It is also wise to
save one of the Kasnard Swords for the next town, when a new character joins
you.
-------------------------------------
+ Borun
Now that you are done, or have skipped the raffle game head to the upper floor
of the inn to see Jyamane, that you met back in Phildin earlier. He says that
the writer Karamus has gotten some great ideas from Avin and that he is making
a new book. Talk to Karamus who is also on this floor of the inn. Walk over to
the the weapons shop to buy a Large Chackram for Mile and Chain Mail for each
of them. You might also want to exchange your Pia into Roze. Save your game,
and head northwest out of town towards New Borun.
+ Highway of Two Towns
Walk northwest until Mile stops and gets shop by a man with a blowgun. Avin
gets shot too. This man has some companions, and looks just like the Syamseal
thugs from earlier. When you wake up, a man named Douglas says he found you
lying on the ground, so he brought you to Bornun again. Now, after realizing
that Mile's bell and the kabessa are gone, Douglas says that his thunder sword
is gone too. When Douglas teams up with you, equip him with the Kasnard Sword,
if you saved one extra from the raffle game. If not you, can go earn a new one.
After talking to Douglas, go see Dr. Bandle at the upper floor of the inn.
Talk to Meister in the guild to find out that the bandits are hiding in a place
called Torkas Cave, which is somewhere south of the highway of two towns. Now
go back to where Avin got shop by a blowgun and then go south from there to
find a fork in the road. Once again, head south to Torkas Passage.
+ Torkas Passage
Straight south of the entrance is a chest containing Sp Arcanum 1. Walk as
far northwest as possible to find an Antidote in a chest. Head southwest
not to reach the next area. After the screen has faded and gotten back
again, follow the path southeast, and then go north to find a chest
containing 300 Roze. Now go a little back and then follow the path
northeast until you see the cave. Heal up using white magic before entering.

+------------------------------------+
Before you start here, know that you should absolutely fight as many battles as
possible if you got the 1st prize sword from Borun. This is because you can
easily win battles and at the same time earn lots of experience points.
It is pretty dark inside Torkas Cave, just like in the cave where you fought
the Syamseal gang earlier. Well, head northwest to find two chests, containing
Theresia Water and a Raid Boomerang. Do not bother equipping the boomerang.
Well then, head back to the entrance then east from there and run over a bridge
to find a chest with an Antidote in. After getting that one, walk back over the
bridge again, and from there northeast until you get to the next area.
Follow the only path there is and when you get to a fork, head south to find
another chest containing a Waroon Sword. If you have the Kasnard sword(s) you
should not equip it, but if not, it is worth a try. Compare it to your current
swords! Follow the path north, then east and when you get to a fork go south to
find another Riebe Leaf.
After that, save you game, then heal, UNEQUIP the Kasnard Sword and replace
it with another one if Douglas has one of those godlike swords - Douglas
will leave after the battle and take his equipment with him, you see. Now
head north to the next area after hearing Mile's bell somewhere in the
dark. This is where you'll meet the blowgun shooters, that have both the
bell and the kabessa with them. They are talking about returning both to
their boss Fatima.

| Start by attacking the closest hatchet man by using Avin and Douglas' |
| melee attacks. Mile should use his La Rare spell to heal his mates for |
| now. The blowgun soldier will likely poison one of your party members, |
| but this does not matter. If he puts someone to sleep however, have Mile |
| use a Riebe Leaf on the sleeping one. Once the hatchet man you targeted |
| is dead, simply use your deadly attacks to take down the blowgun shooter. |
| The remaining hatchet man is easily beatable by using melee attacks. |
| |
| Reward: Forest Cape |
| |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Mile gets his Bell back, and Douglas forces the blowgun shooter to tell him
where the rest of the stolen treasures can be found. Once you've found all the
chests, Douglas finds a strange-looking ornament, which turns out to be the
kabessa. Douglas' Thunder Sword however, is nowhere to be found! It turns out
that the Syamseal Gang has sold off the sword to a merchant named Garcia.
Douglas now leaves, the screen fades and you will find yourself in Borun again.
Your reward from Meister is 500 Roze. Mayor Doyle now comes, wanting Avin to
represent Borun in the upcoming water match during the Idun Festival. Avin
accepts. Save your game now.
Walk over to the cafeteria part of the inn, talk to the lunch lady there to
make her prepare some food, and then wait until a boy from the city Guia talks
to Avin. His name is Rouca, and he is looking for his sister Rutice, that has
gone missing. His sister is supposed to have black hair and black eyes. After
eating, Avin, Rouca and Mile will split up to search for Rutice here in Borun.
You will be in control of Avin as usual. There are some people that you will
need to talk to now, just like when you were collection money for the church
back in Phildin.
Ask these people about Rutice
------------------------------
Rouca, near the dancing stage
Tony, at the warf
Kuman, in his company house
Bartender, at the inn
Now, after talking to those guys, walk towards the mayor's house to see Douglas
asking about his sword, since the mayor wants to use it as a prize in the
upcoming water match. Douuglas will leave, so speak to the mayor about Ruticce.
The mayor has not seen her, so head back to the cafeteria part of the inn again
to see Rouca again. Rouca has to leave back to his town again now, and Avin
will start training for the water match.
+ Water Match
It turns out that Douglas is Avin's oponent in the water match. When the two of
them start fighting, Douglas is the one that looks strongest, but he falls
through the floor, and looses the match. Avin receives 500 Roze, and the
Thunder Sword that originally belonged to Douglas, without knowing that this is
in fact Douglas' sword. When you finally regain control again, walk near the
dancing stage again to see a boy named Paan to get the third part of the
Swordmaster book series - Swordmaster 3. With all this done, walk north out of
Borun and head for New Borun.
+ New Borun
Once you arrive in New Borun after walking west over the extremely long Boreas
Bridge, go behind the counter in the weapons shop and talk to the owner to find
out that Douglas can be found in the local tavern, drinking strong stuff
because he lost to Avin earlier in the water match. Well, walk over to the
tavern - which is north of the inn - and talk to Douglas. Avin will fight a
little with him, but Mile fixes everything so that Avin and Douglas become
friends again. Douglas gets his sword back (but will not use it yet) and joins
your party. Once he has joined, walk to the weapons shop again and buy one
Ring Mail for each of your party members, and equip them. Also, Douglas will
still have the equipment he had when he helped fighting the Syamseal gang
earlier, so he should be well suited. If you do not have the Kasnard Sword,
make sure you buy better weapons as well. When you are done talking to people
in New Borun, head north towards Guia.

+ Spirit Forest
Walk northwest to find some hunters talking to a girl. The hunters will leave
after a while, and the girl explains that she lives her in the forest with her
grandfather. Her name is Archem. She will now join your party, so that you can
bring her back to her grandfather. If you still have the Forest Cape that you
won in the battle against the Blowgun Shooter and the Hatchet Men earlier,
equip it on her. Well now, head one screen north and you will arrive in

Northwest in area 1 you will find the catalia that should be equipped on Mile.
In the eastern part of area 2, talk to Doctor Bandle, that you've met earlier
too, and then east of Dr. Bandle go open a chest to find a Riebe Leaf. After
that, head over to Area 4 to find the house that Archem and her grandfather
live in. After some talking, the grandfather writes a letter that he asks Avin
to go and deliver west of new Borun. Avin accepts the missions, and Archem once
again joins the party, to oversee that Avin manages to deliver the letter.
Before doing anything else, you can sleep by talking to Archem's granddad, and
restore your health and mana points. Now walk back to New Borun to see the
writer Karamus again. He's standing in the lower right corner, near the water.
When Karamus has gotten his inspiration back, head to the weapons shop and buy
a Heavy Mace for Archem. Now head west out of town, towards Benequia Monastery.
+ Holy Maiden Pass
On this path simply walk the only way possible until you reach the monastery.
+ Benequia Monastery
Walk north past the two sister guards and then talk to the sister that you meet
in the next area. After talking to her, walk northwest, then east past a
tower, and then you will reach the oracle that you came here to deliver the
letter to. The oracle is a bad man, and tears the letter to pieces. Head back
towards New Borun since he didn't want to do anything to stop the hunting of
meefa animals. Before you manage to leave the site, Ollesia, that protected
Avin at the beginning of the game, will stop him.
Ollesia explains that Eimelle - who is Avin's sister if you don't remember -
stayed at this monastery until her fifteenth birthday. She then escaped,
leaving a letter where she has written that she had been hearing whispers from
the goddess Durga. Ollesia does not have any idea where Eimelle is right now,
and neither does the adventurer guild. Ollesia says that she will try to talk
to Sir Croir in the capital in order to stop all the hunting in Spirit Forest.
When heading back to New Borun using Maiden Pass, you will meet a man with a
blue bandana covering his face. The man blesses Avin with a spell, because he
says that New Borun is being 'punished' for something, and that Avin shouldn't
stay there for too long.
+ New Borun
A weird fog is floating in the air all over New Borun. There's nothing to do
about all this yet, so head north out of town and to Archem's house in the
forest after bringing Shannon to the inn. Shannon has followed Mile all the way
from Tibri to New Borun, by the way. Back in the forest, Arhchem's grandfather
explains that the poisonous air comes from a swamp south of New Borun. Because
of the decrease in the number of meefa animals, the air is not purified
anymore. It will now be Avin's task to go to Golda Cave in order to find the
remaining meefas, that might be hiding there. So, head east from Forest Area 3
(check the map I put together earlier) to reach Golda Mountain Path.
+ Golda Mountain Path
Walk east, then north to find a chest containing a Stimulant. East from that
chest you will find the entrance to Golda Cave itself.

+------------------------------------+
Start by going straight north after hearing an animal voice to find a chest
with a Cachucha that you can equip on someone. In my case, it was best matched
with Douglas' current status. Go back south and then follow the path that leads
southwest. This path will eventually continue to lead north, but do not fear,
and follow it all the way until you see some water on your right side, and an
entrance to another part of the cave near it. Heal up, and then go north to the
next part of Golda Cave.
Walk east to find a new chest containing a Reitel Bash. If you have the Kasnard
Sword from the raffle, don't change it with this one. If you do not have the
Kasnard, equip the weapon you just found. Go northwest now, and when you get to
a fork, head south to find yet another chest. This one has 500 Roze in it.
Back at the fork, head north then east. You will then get to a new fork. If you
head south you can find a chest with a Sp Arcanum 2 in. If you head east, you
will reach the entrance to the third part of the cave. Heal and save you
progress before before entering. In the next part follow the only path
available to see lots of nice meefa animals getting attacked by some weird
monsters. Time for some beating.

+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
The meefas animals will now head back to New Borun and purify the air. After
they have done that, Avin wants to head back to the monastery to tell the
greedy oracle what really happened because he started paying for meefas fur.
Before doing that, head to the entrance of the weapons shop and talk to
Jyamane. He asks Avin to keep an eye on Karamus next time he sees him. In
addition, Jyamane gives Avin the book Quick Ravin 1, written by Karamus.
Head to Ramicum's house in the northwest corner. Suggest that he opens any shop
you want to. I chose the lunch shop.
Head west to the monastery and access the oracle's room. He's not there. A
scene will show that the oracle gets attacked by the blue bandana man from
earlier. The man says that 15 years ago, the oracle did something terrible,
related to a girl named Dominique. Avin and friends now enter. Just before
Douglas and the bandana man are going to fight, Ollessia enters, and recognizes
the bandana man as 'Madram'. Madram now escapes. Soon after, it is decided that
Douglas will escort the oracle to court, which means that Douglas now leaves
the party. Head back to New Borun and talk to the mayor to get Sp Arcanum 3.
Then, head to the upper floor of the inn to visit Shannon. Head north out of
New Borun, and then Archem will leave the party. Head west towards Guia. When
you reach yet another fork, head south. When you see a chest, open it for 500
Roze. From here follow the path until you reach Guia.
+ Guia
After talking to the boy with yellow hair and the older girl, walk to the
northwestern part of this area to meet to boy and the girl again. The boy's
name is Rael and the girl is named Elenoa. They both belong over at the local
sorcery school. Head over to the tools shop and get a Wrist Band for Mile, and
one for Avin as well. You might also want to turn your Pia into Roze. Head
south of the inn to once again find Karamus, having a hard time with his
writing. After talking to him, head northwest out of town and towards the
factory.
+ Factory
Walk a little north, then down some stair and try to open the first door you
see. Some masked people will walk out of the door. Walk inside that door and
talk to the plant manager. He has heard about Avin and Mile from Rouca, the boy
that is looking for his sister Rutice. Anyways, the manager asks you to do him
a favor - checking five blast furnaces for errors. So, head out of the
manager's room, and look at the map below. You need to talk to the workers
located near each of the blast furnaces.

the local tavern, about a man from Balloa that passed a girl with beautiful
red hair on the highway. The girl was traveling towards a place named Koruna
Village, he says. Head back to the entrance of the inn now to find Jyamane. He
will give you the book named Quick Ravin 2. Now head out of town, using the
southwestern exit. Before he manages to leave, a girl stops Avin. She has a...
LETTER FROM EIMELLE that she gives to Avin! The letter says:

After talking to Rao in the house that was locked earlier, Rao will start
making some tea for Avin. Rael from earlier is peeking from outside, and gets
some kind of idea. Back in the house, Avin and Mile drinks a lot of tea, and
suddenly they get very sleepy. It turns out that Rao tricked them with sleeping
medicine! Rao now transforms into her real self - the blackhaired girl that
tried to steal the kabessa from Sage Dinerken earlier in the game!
A lot of things happen, don't you think? Anyways, here comes Madram - known as
the blue bandana man earlier - and runs into the house. The girl and Madram
fight a little, and the kabessa falls down to the floor. Rael and Rouca now
returns to the house as well, and Madram escapes. It turns out that this girl
is Rouca's sister, as he recognizes her! So, the blackhaired girl was Rutice
after all. Rouca and Rael now takes Mile and Avin to the inn.
Rouca give back the Kabessa that he found on floor in Rao's house. Rouca now
leaves, and Rael joins your party. Head over to the weapons shop and buy a
Celtis for Rael, Cross Blades for Mile, and Metal Jackets for all three of
them. Now you can leave Guia for real, but using the southwestern exit.

Watts will tell you to go into the chapel in the southwestern part of the

there. Now you can open the gate north of Watts' House. Well, before leaving,
sleep in Misel's house by talking to her. Her house is west of the gate.
Head north, walking over the snow to the next area, and then continue walking
north until you reach the Ice Palace.

Head northeast into the next area, and Avin will mention that this place
actually is the Ice Palace - The Palace of Durga. Rael says that this place is
over a thousand years old, and that this is his first time visiting. Head north
to an altar where a black object can be found. This is a broken divine object.
A Red Book now appears, and Rael takes it. Once you have the book, go back to
Koruna Village and the chapel there. Rael needs some help in order to read the
book found in the Ice Palace, and he suggests a lady named Elenoa from the
Sorcery School. Go to the school by walking as far south as possible from
Koruna, even south past the entrance to Guia.
+ Sorcery School
Walk into the school, past the receptionist, and then a little right to see
Fatima again, talking to Elenoa about the Book of Life. Fatima now escapes and
Elenoa joins your party. Equip her if you have something that fits her, but do
not spend time on shopping stuff for her now. Head back to the chapel in Koruna
Village now - all the way up north, you remember. While travelling there, be
sure to use Elenoa's magic to help you in the battles you fight in. When you
pass the entrance to Guia, Max from the guild will talk to you, and then walk
off to the school. Follow him there and talk to him to get the Swordmaster 4
book.
+ Koruna
Upon entering, some dogs will chase their owner. Walk north to find Rael. He
can explain that the Red Book was actually The Book of Life that the Syamseal
gang has been searching for. Rael now runs off north. When Avin gets to the
river, where Rael is, he will be attacked by some dogs, but that's not
dangerous at all. After spinning around a little, head back to the southern
part of town. A masked man will steal the book of life, and then Fatima and her
Syamseal gang will appear as well. It appears that the syamseal are not working
with the masked men after all. Fatima runs off after the masked man has
escaped, saying something about the masked man belonging to 'Borgeid'. Head
back to Guia now.
+ Guia
A monster is trying to kill a worker. Avin stops is, and realizes that the
masked man that stole the Book of Life is here as well. The man summons some
monsters, so kill them off by using magic attacks. Avin now has to clean the
whole town of monsters. There are monsters in about all of the houses in town,
so prepare for a serious number of fights. When you're done, Rael will say that
you've trashed most of them. Now go straight to the factory area to find out
that it's burning. A fat sorcerer is threatening the Plant Manager, since the
manager does not want to make weapons for him.
Rouca is here as well. He tries to attack the sorcerer, but is slashed with a
sword by one of the guards. When the fat sorcerer tries to kill Rouca, Avin
stops his spell by dashing into it. The fat sorcerer and his guards are members
of Octum's Apostles, just like Rutice (the blackhaired girl) is. Rutice now
comes, and says that the fat man shouldn't kill Avin, Rouca and friends.
Rutice now makes it clear that the fat man is actually the 'Borgeid' that the
masked man that stole the Book of Life was talking about. Madram show up as
well, and he kills the fat sorcerer's guards. Part of the factory now blows
up, and the screen fades out. Some time later, Rutice leaves town, and Rouca
wakes up. After the scene, head over to the guild and talk to Meister in order
to receive 2000 Roze. Now head west out of Guia, and continue walking west.
Elenoa and Rael will leave the party, but keep going west.
After getting to a new area the moment after Rael and Elenoa left, there will
be a chest to the north containing a Kite Shield. Do not equip it. Head
southwest from here, and then there will be another chest with a Red Crystal on
Avin's right side. Continue west and you will reach Tia bridge. You will meet
two travelers that are headed to Guia. Let them walk there. Don't bother
following them. After passing the bridge, you will have to walk south until you
see a sign. From there, head west towards Balloa. You will arrive there before
too long has passed.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Reaching Balloa [Avin010]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items To Find
-------------
Cuir Bouili
Swordmaster 5
Kuerupo
Quick Ravin 3
Baron's Note
Now that you have reached Balloa, head to the upper floor of the inn first and
talk to the merchant Garcia, that bought Douglas' sword from the syamseal gang
earlier. After reading the hilarious engrish dialogue, head out of the inn
again, and to the weapons shop. There, you should buy Cuir Bouilis for both
Avin and Mile. Now, head west to the port.
At the port, head a little west to talk to the man with blue hair guarding
the passage, then head a little further west to run up the stairs there. The
stairs do in fact start more southwest from the guard, then west. Well, once
you've walked up the stairs, talk to Karamus to give him some ideas like usual.
Go down the stairs again and head south. Talk to the girl with yellow hair to
hear about a certain tower, and then head back to town again. Now go out of
town using the entrance/exit you first came from and then kill the monsters
there. The travellers you met on the bridge earlier now return to town. The
well-dressed one of them is named Baron Conrad and rules Balloa.
The sailor dude is named Thomas, and explains that he is working on a boat
called the Planetos. Baron Conrad now joins the party, and says that Mile and
Avin can come to eat dinner at his house if they want to. His house is located
just after the entrance to the port. You know, the man with blue hair was
guarding the entrance to the Baron's house earlier. Well, now equip Baron
Conrad with the Kite Shield you found earlier, buy a Cuir Bouili for him, and
put the Red Crystal as well as another accessory on him as well. Then, head for
his house at the port and have dinner. Conrad will introduce you to his lovely,
hot and beautiful (not as hot as Muse though) wife Theresa.
AND HERE WE GO - EIMELLE IS STAYING IN CONRAD'S HOUSE AS WELL!!
It's been eight long years, but now Avin met Eimelle again. Todays ferryboat to
Valkd has already left, so Conrad will have Eimelle follow Avin and Mile
outside for a while. First, head all the way south to the southmost warf to
have Mile fall into the water and get soaked. Then, walk up the stairs near
Conrad's house and talk to the sailors inside the shack left of the upper part
of the stairs. They will give Avin the Swordmaster 5 book. You can also talk to
Thomas once here, but it won't give you anything special. Head back to town
now and relax there for a while. Avin runs off to get some beer to drink. Well,
at least something to drink.
And now, Shannon appears again. This made me laugh :P
Anyways, Shannons sees Mile, who is her hero, talking to Eimelle, and then she
starts to cry and runs away. After drinking some honey water, talk to the
merchant outside of the inn. He does not really sell anything, but it's
possible to ask about 'Sexy Underwear', which should be fun. If you ask the
merchant about all his items, and then talk to him once again, you can get an
item from him for real.
Go back to Baron Conrad's house now, to have dinner for real. Eimelle now
tells Avin about her time in the monastery and that something weird
happened when she went to the Ice Palace. There, she heard Durga talk to
her, and she recieved a shiny crystal before waking up in Baron's house.
The crystal is a sacred treasure like the Kabessa, and is named Kuerupo.
She now gives it to Avin.
The next day, a man shouts to Conrad that a mine has been attacked by monsters.
Conrad joins your party. Before doing anything else, head to the house west of
where the sailor gave you the Swordmaster 5 book and talk to Jyamane there. He
will give you Quick Ravin 3. Now head out of Balloa and then go east until you
reach a fork. Head south there towards the Silver Mine.
+ Road To Richness
Walk south, then east. You will find a path leading north to a chest with 500
Roze in. Grab them, and then continue east. Walk past a gate, some wooden
barrels and then head into the mine itself.
+ Balloa Silver Mine
Go northwest to a new area and fight the blue and red monsters there. A group
of workers will now be able to escape. Go back to the entrance and then take
the northeastern path. Once you get to a new area, go straight north and kill
the monsters you meet. Go back to Balloa now when all the workers have been
saved.
+ Balloa
When Avin arrives, the town has been invaded by the syamseal gang. It was the
gang that unleashed the monsters in the silver mine. Two hatchet man thugs will
attack after a small conversation, so take them down by using standard melee
attacks. After beating the two thugs, head over the the adventurer guild to
find out that the syamseal gang are making chaos over at the port. Head to the
port, then to see if you can stop them after getting healed by Doctor Bandle at
the upper floor of the inn. Over at the port, Avin gets attacked by lots of
hatchet men. Use magic attacks to kill them all. Theresa now comes running,
saying that Eimelle has been kidnapped by Fatima of the syamseal gang! Save
your game now.
Heal up using Mile's spells and then southwest to the wharfs to meet lots of
hatchet men, and their boss who is a voodoo magician. Use a deadly attack on
the voodoo magician and kill the hatchet men in any way you feel like. During
this battle, it is smart to heal your characters with Mile's La Rare Spell.
The ferry that Eimelle was kidnapped on, managed to leave the wharf during the
battle. Thomas appears, and says that he will do what he can in order to help.
Thomas' ship - The Planetos - will now be used to chase Fatima and her
servants. When The Planetos catches up to Fatima's ship, her men will try to
stop Avin, so prepare for a battle. Use a deadly attack on the Blowgun Shooter,
and then take down the voodoo magician and the hatchet men using melee attacks.
Conrad's spirit magic is great to use as well. Be extremely careful, so that
you have healed your party with La Rare before you win this battle! There is a
boss battle after this one, you see.
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Boss: Fatima |
|--------------------+--------------------+----------------------------------+
| HP: 400 + | Recommended lv: 17 | |
|--------------------+--------------------+ |
| Hopefully, you remembered to heal all three party members before winning |
| the battle you fought just a moment ago. Now, if you have some Deadly |
| attacks left, use them to take down a Voodo Magician (green hair). If not, |
| then do melee attack on the two voodoo magicians instead, until both are |
| dead. Use La Rare to heal if needed, as always. Fatima will just use |
| healing spells on her comrades, so do not attack her yet. Instead, kill |
| off the hatchet man after you're done with the voodoos. When Fatima is |
| alone after you've killed her men, she might use the Shine Bullet attack |
| that damages all your party members. Use La Rarer to heal after |
| each time Fatima uses that spell. Use melee attacks and Deadly ones |
|(should have been charged to full by now). Remember, heal lots with Mile |
| and let the others attack with melee and deadly attacks. |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Baron Conrad now arrests Fatima, since she tried to kidnap Eimelle. The rest of
the gang is also arrested back in Balloa. Now it is time to get onto the
Planetos again and follow it to a place named Theta. Baron Conrad gives Avin a
letter to deliver to the army captain over at Theta. Shannon also wants to come
on the boat, but she's to late to catch the ride. After arriving at Theta, Avin
has to eat some food, and then go alone to deliver the letter to the army
captain. Read about that in the next section of this walkthrough.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From Theta And Towards Valkd [Avin011]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Head out of the inn and east to the pier. Walk north when you get out of the
town and run into the person named Hundt. Someone with blue hair is chasing
Hundt. Ignore the two of them for now, and instead head northwest to get closer
to the sea. Walk as far east as possible to find Captain Malion, standing on a
stage, shouting to two soldiers. Talk to him to make him and the soldiers fix a
monster cart for you. While the three of them are fixing the cart, go back
towards the inn again. You will run into Rutice and her helper Bernard. Avin
and Bernard fools around a little, and Bernard is pushed into the house that
Hundt is hiding inside. Bernard takes Hundt hostage, and Avin is forced to
surrender in order to Hundt to survive.
Bernard hits Avin in the head, and Avin faints. Bernard and Rutice now run off,
when Mile and Eimelle comes to investigate why Avin's taking so long when he
was just supposed to deliver a letter. After waking up again, Avin and friends
leaves town using the Monster Cart! Wooosh! Woooooosh! Joyful Ride! Yeah!
Rutice now stops the cart and says that Avin should turn back, because some
guys from Octum's Apostles are waiting for him some miles from the current
location of the cart. The whole thing ends with Avin and friends crashing into
a mountain and fainting. Woosh! Woooosh! Not so joyful ride anymore! Nooh!
Now Master Bellias appears - the big boss of Octum's Apostles himself - and
kills Bernard for being carefree and almost killing Eimelle. Rutice arrives too
late to save Bernard. Bellias' guards now attack Rutice and Avin with flames,
and make them faint. Heh, Avin faints a lot, doesn't he? Bellias now attacks
Mile when he tries to protect Eimelle. Mile is thrown into the rocks, and
starts bleeding - lots! Eimelle, Bellias and his guards, in addition to Mile's
body - now disappear. Mile's guardian bell is the only thing left. Sage Gawaine
from many years ago appears, and he has some guards with him as well. After
some time, Avin wakes up in a room with red floor.

Items To Find
+------------------------------------+
|Guardian Bell | Quick Ravin 4 |
|Half Plate | Dark |
|Kuerupo | Rick Shield |
|Kabessa | Half Plate |
|Battle Beak | Rarer Potion |
+------------------------------------+
So, now that Avin has waked up, walk out of the room to meet Oracle Kalion. He
says that Avin has been sleeping for three days after Mile and Eimelle
disappeared after getting attacked by Bellias. Oracle Kalion says that this
place is the Grand Cathedral of Valkd. The oracle will take Avin downstairs to
Gawaine and Sir Croir, so that Avin can finally deliver the kabessa and the
kuerupo. Gawaine explains that Mile and Eimelle were kidnapped, and gives Avin
the Guardian Bell that Mile left. When you regain control of Avin, walk
straight right, just to talk to the real Oldwoman Rao. Remember that Rutice
acted as her earlier? From the room where Oldwoman Rao is standing in, head
into a door to the northeast. In the next room, make your way as far west as
possible, until you reach Reference Room 1. The oracle there says that this is
the name of the room.
In Reference Room 1, there is a book with a red '!' on. Read that book, to find
out more about Octum's Apostles. Now go back to the hall south of where Gawaine
is, and then go far northwest to return to Avin's room. Go to the room left of
Avin's room to see Rutice. Go talk to Gawaine when Rutice is done talking. Now
head south of the room where Oldwoman Rao was standing earlier to find a girl
and an oracle talking about magic. The oracle says that below this room, there
is a prison. When the oracle leaves, walk down the stairs, then head right, and
then as far north as possible to find Oracle Avarice and Madram. Avin follows
Madram after a short scene. You will arrive at the eastern part of Valkd City.
+ Valkd
Head over to the weapons shop in western Valkd to buy a Half Plate for Avin.
Go back to eastern Valkd and head south out of town towards Brizahc. Follow the
path south until you reach a junction. Head west after the flashback. Walk over
Dominus bridge.
+ Dios Shrine Path
Follow the path northwest. Nothing special to find here. Avin now reaches a
darker area, and the music disappears. He now finds out that a huge magic wall
is stopping him from reaching cathedral, where the Octum Apostles have their
headquarters. Borgeid now appears, and Avin manages to hurt him with his sword.
Just before Borgeid is about to kill Avin, Rutice appears and stops Borgeid's
fire spell. Gawaine now appears and takes Avin and Rutice back to Valkd.
Borgeid escapes. Sir Croir now suggests that Avin goes to Truth Island to see
if he can find some information there, and gives him back the kabessa and the
kuerupo.
+ Valkd
Go talk to Rutice while she's sleeping in her own room (left of Avin's room)
and then exit the cathedral by using the main gate. That lovely girl Shannon
has gotten to Valkd too now, as you can see. Avin tells Shannon that he
believes Mile is dead. After Shannon has gone away, equip Gawaine with whatever
you have in your inventory and then go to the weapons shop to buy a Half Plate
and a Battle Beak for him. After equipping the weapon and armor, head the the
east part of Valkd and exit towards Theta.
+ Holy Capital Highway
With Gawaine in your party, you will be able to deal with enemies easily, since
Gawaine does lots of damage with melee attacks, and can heal using white magic
as well. Follow the path northeast, fight all the enemies you meet and you will
eventually reach Theta.
+ Theta
Head to the inn to find Jyamane. He gives you Quick Ravin 4, and says that the
author Karamus has escaped from him once again. Head north from the inn, and
Gawaine will tell Rutice to show herself, since she has been following since
you left Valkd. After talking about how her parents died, Rutice joins Avin's
party! Yeah! Equip Rutice with two accessories from your inventory and then
head to the weapons shop to buy a 'Dark' and a Rick Shield for her. Oh, don't
forget to get a Half Plate too! Now head east to the docks, and meet up with
Gawaine again in the house there. Now, go back one area and exit Theta by using
the northwestern exit.
+ Icon Passage
Head north over a small bridge, then straight southwest to find a chest
containing a Rarer Potion. Continue to the next area by going northwest. On the
right side in the next area, you will find Claymore. Do not equip it if you
have the Kasnard Sword. If not, let Avin use it. Go north to yet another area.
You will now reach Dorx a little further ahead!
+ Dorx
Go to the tools shop to tell Karamus about your adventures. Then walk to
Kabol's house. Speak to him and sleep there to restore your health. Go
northeast towards the pier and speak to the paladin there, in order to board
the boat to Truth Island.

|Swordmaster 6 | Rick Shield |
|2000 Roze | Half Plate |
|Beast's Horn | Marvel Mail |
|Quick Ravin 5 | Rarer Potion |
|Emperor Sword | |
+------------------------------------+
Once the boat has arrived, head north, talk about the ruins with Gawaine, and
then head into the huge to the north. Walk down the stairs, then head to the
northwestern part of the room to walk down another set of stairs. You will now
meet a man in a robe. The man is named Michel. After the scene with six
treasures and one sword, Michel will run away and Gawaine takes Avin and Rutice
back to Valkd. End of chapter. Sir Croir tells Avin to go to Quitt, which is
west of Valkd. Well, from Sir Croir, head one room south then west to speak
with a man named Kurason. He gives you the Swordmaster 6 book.
Try to head west out of Valk towards Quitt. An Oracle will tell you to head to
the northeastern exit of town to fight some monsters that have broken into
Valkd. Go there to meet Douglas. Fight the monsters 'til they die. After
drinking some beer at the tavern, Meister comes and says that there are more
monsters nearby, attacking a merchant at Taruga Highway. Meister gives Avin
2000 Roze. Now, if you have a Kasnard Sword, equip it on Douglas, and make sure
you equip him with accessories as well. If you don't have anything for him, go
buy a weapon for him. Go to the eastern part of Valkd, find Karamus there and
talk to him, and then exit using the southern exit.
+ Taruga Highway
Head south until you meet the merchant and a woman named Lucias, that Douglas
knows from earlier. Lucias studied under the same master as Douglas earlier.
She now leaves, and Douglas pulls off a horn from the dead beast. Head back to
the guild and deliver the beast's horn as a proof that the beast is dead and
the merchant is safe. Outside of the guild, the merchant and a almost invisible
shadow that follows him from behind, approaches Avin and friends, asking them
to go to a place named Pregon Cave in the west. The merchant goes into the
guild, and the shadow goes west out of town. Walk into the cathedral again, and
to the room on your right hand, just before you get to Sir Croir's room.
Jyamane is there, and he has Quick Ravin 5 for you. Now exit town using the
western exit, and head towards Quitt.
+ Quitt Byway
Go north, and you will run into Lucias. She spots a boy with green
hair named Jimmy. After she does, it's time for a battle, with Lucias on your
team. Just use normal melee attacks to kill all the monsters. Lucias now joins
the party so head back to Valkd and buy her a Emperor Sword, Rick Shield and
Half Plate. Remember to equip them on her. Now go back to where you met Lucias,
and head north towards Pregon Cave. You wanna find that Jimmy boy, remember.
+ Pregon Mountain Path
Just follow the path northeast, and you will get to the cave entrance.
+ Pregon Cave
After running into Jimmy, go right, even though Rutice talks about going
left. You will find a chest, containing... NOTHING. The treasure chest
originally belonged to the merchant from earlier, so someone might have
stolen what was supposed to be inside. Now heal, and go back. Head left
instead of right from where you met Jimmy. After getting to the next area,
you will reach a fork. Head west to find a chest with a Marvel Mail in. Let
Avin equip it. Now go back to the fork, and head south, even south past a
bridge to find a chest containing a Rarer Potion. Now head west over the
bridge. Go northwest, into a new area. Heal up, then walk southwest. Avin and
friend will be surrounded by enemies, so kill them all like usual. Lucias'
Spirit Jin spell is very useful. Now save your game before walking north.
You will meet a man with a hood, who is a member of Octum's Apostles. The man
summons lots of monsters, and is about to kill Avin and friends when Jimmy
appears behind him, and hits him in the head so that the monsters disappear.
The Octum's Apostles member escapes, and Jimmy tries to get away too, before
Lucias stops him. After the scene with Lucias and Jimmy leaving, walk southwest
to find a Circlet in a chest, then backtrack and leave Pregon Cave. Remember
where you met Lucias before walking into the cave? Go west from there!
Follow the path to a new area, pick up a Rarer Potion in the northwestern
corner, and then head southwest until you see a sign. West of that sign, you
will find Quitt Village.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First Visit To Quitt Village [Avin014]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items To Find
---------------
Luna Blade
Katar
Night Shield
Scale Mail
Finally! Now there is a sword that is more powerful than the Kasnard Sword
available for Avin and Douglas. Buy two Luna Blades at the weapons shop! Get a
Katar and a Night Shield for Rutice. If you can afford it (I had to sell some
old stuff myself) you should also buy a Scale Mail for each of your party
members. Go talk to Chief Godal in his house to find out that a monster has
appeared in the middle of the sea, preventing the workers to get the gold that
Quitt Village needs. After speaking to Godal, go down to the docks.
Here you will meet a girl named Lita that wants to play with Avin and friends
after they are done investigating. Well, go see Oldwoman Ourma in the southern
part of the docks to get some sleep. After sleeping, head northwest out of
Quitt, and towards Scotia Shrine.
+ Scotia Shrine
Straight west of where you enter the area, there is a small stone with a '!'
sign on. Have Rutice read what the stone says, and then go see Oldwoman Ourma
down at the docks again. Ourma explains that the real Scotia Shrine is hidden
below the earth, and that a legend says it is possible to enter the real shrine
by having someone in a certain lineage follow to the shrine's location. Ourma
says that Cerine in Quitt is of this lineage, so go back to Quitt and see
Cerine. Cerine explains that she does not think she has the power to open the
shrine, even though she is a member of the correct lineage.
So, go see Oscar down at the first part of the docks, to hear about an
adventurer that is on his way to Quitt, in order to deal with the monster in
the middle of the sea. Back in Quitt, Lucias and Jimmy will meet you. Lucias is
the adventurer that was hired to kill the sea monster after all. Lita and Jimmy
now goes to play hide and seek. Go to see Chief Godal and Lucias now, in
Godal's house. After the conversation, Lucias will join Avin's party, since
Avin and friends are now hired to kill the sea monster as well. Head down to
the docks for a surprise ride on the.... well.. on the wharf! The wharf is
named 'The Scotia' and can float on the sea like a ship.
+ The Scotia
After The Scotia has started moving, head southeast and talk with Lucias. After
that, head back north and talk to Oscar, the captain. Watch the conversation
between Douglas and Lucias, and then the sea monster starts bumping into The
Scotia from below. The monster does not attack the people onboard The Scotia
however, and instead it says that it is a water spirit. It says that there is a
certain person that is able to open the path to the shrine north of Quitt, and
that this person is in danger. Then, the monster leaves. Oscar now sails back
to Quitt Village. Cerine and Chief Godal explains that Lita was taken to the
shrine by some masked men, and that these masked ones hurt Jimmy badly when he
tried to protect Lita from them. Jimmy says that a fat sorcerer was the one
that attacked him. This has to be Borgeid, Avin thinks. Godal says that the
entrance to the shrine has been opened - which means that Lita was the person
that the water spirit was talking about earlier. Buy a Luna Blade and Scale
Mail for Lucias, and remember to equip them. Head northwest out of Quitt now.

|Helios Blade | Rarest Potion |
|Rarer Potion | Theresia H20 |
|Antidote Ore | Dashing Boots |
|Arcuvas | Asura Charm |
|Royal Powder | Dellepied |
|Swordmaster 7 | 3000 Roze |
+------------------------------------+
Kill the two masked guards that are waiting at the entrance and then head down
the stairs leading down into the ground. Head down another set of stairs. Go
south from here, and down all the stairs you see, to end up with a chest
containing a Helios Blade. Let Avin equip it. Now, head back up all the stairs
until you reach the place you went south from. Go west now, and if you want a
Rarer Potion, walk south when you get to the fork. If not, or after you have
the potion, go as far west as possible and then down some stairs.
At the bottom of the stairs you will see a gate in a room formed like a square.
Head north through the gate and you will see a chest behind a fence. Head west
from here, and follow the path until you see a chest on your left side. It
contains an Antidote Ore. Continue north after opening that chest, and then
when you see some stairs, head right (even though it looks like there is no
path here) to open that chest you saw behind the fence earlier. The chest
contains an Arcuvas that Avin should equip. Now head back left and down the
stairs.
Walk down another set of stairs, close to the ones you just came down from, and
then you will see two gates. Take the western one to find a new chest
containing Royal Powder, and then go back and take the other gate. Walk north,
down some stairs and you will see the entrance of a room that is much lighter
than the areas you have been walking through just now. Go into that room.
This area has water on both sides, and two chests. One on each side. Open them
to find a Rarest Potion and a Theresia H20. Go straight north through several
similar areas, and walk onto the warp portal at the far northern edge. It is
impossible not to reach this portal if you just walk straight north from the
two chests.
After using the warp portal, go northeast to find a chest with Dashing Boots
in.Do not equip them. Then, go northeast from the portal to find a chest with
an Asura Charm in. Now heal and save your game, and head north from the warp
portal. Walk onto the moving block to transport to the other side of a gap, and
then walk into another warp portal in the northern part of the area. Watch the
scene with Borgeid talking to the water spirit, before he manipulates the
spirit to attack Avin and friends!

| Boss: Scotia |
|--------------------+--------------------+----------------------------------+
| HP: 800 + | Recommended lv: 22 | |
|--------------------+--------------------+ |
| This battle is against Scotia and four Water Spirit servants. A nice |
| strategy to use is to first attack the Water Spirits using the Electro |
| Cube attacks that Avin and Rutice have, since they can hit two enemies |
| each time the spell is used. Lucias should use her spirit jin to damage |
| all the enemies at once. Douglas should just provide backup with melee |
| attacks against the spirits. When you take damage, use Rutice to heal |
| everyone using La Rarer. In the end, it is Scotia's Life Water attack that|
| will damage you, so Rutice will mainly be used for healing in the middle |
| of the battle. Try and take the spirits out without using Deadly Attacks, |
| and once they are all dead, unleash four deadly attacks on Scotia itself! |
| |
| - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -|
| |
| That was what the GOOD strategy sounded like. If you want to be cheap |
| (I have been since 2nd time I played this game too) you can just unleash |
| all four Deadly attacks against Scotia at the beginning of the battle. |
| If your characters are at level 22, this should be enough to win. |
| |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
After Avin wins the battle, the water spirit is set free from the monster's
body, and gives Avin the Dellepied, which is the third sacred treasure after
the kabessa and the kuerupo! Avin will now also be able to use water spirit
magic in battles. Lita now wakes up again, and everyone will head back to
Quitt in order to see Jimmy.
After the scene with Jimmy, Douglas and Lucias are going to fight, to see who's
the strongest one of them. If Douglas wins, Lucias has to help Avin with his
adventures, and if Lucias wins, Douglas has to give her the Thunder Sword.
Douglas wins! After leaving town, go back again and talk to Cerine to get
Swordmaster 7. Chief Godal has 3000 Roze for you to make things even better.
Now head towards Valkd. When you're almost there, you will run into Shannon.
Take her back to town and have her sleep in the cathedral.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Back In Valkd With Shannon [Avin016]

Items To Find
--------------
Swordmaster 8
Swordmaster 9
Manager Note
Shannon will now sleep in the room that Rutice used earlier. Go talk to Sir
Croir to find out that the next shrine is Idun Shrine in Garden Hill. But
first, you need to go to Guia and speak with the Plant Manager there. Well,
head northeast out of Valkd and go to Theta. For now, just walk through Theta
and north to Dorx.
+ Dorx
In Dorx, speak to the villagers. A man will give you Swordmaster 8.
+ Theta
Talk to Jyamane at the inn to get Quick Ravin 6, then talk to Karamus who
is also staying at the very same inn. Karamus has been writing about
Lucias' adventures earlier, just like he does with Avin's adventures now.
After talking to him, head to the pier and talk to the lady there. She says
that your voyage has been paid for already. Just before Avin and friends
leave on the ship, Meister from Valkd comes running. He says that Valkd has
been attacked by monsters. Douglas has to go back to help out, and leaves
the party. After the voyage, you will arrive in Balloa.
+ Balloa
Go to Baron's house and talk to Theresa. After that, head north out of Balloa
and to Anol Highway.
+ Anol Highway
Follow Anol Highway, and do not go south towards the Silver Mine. There's a
long way to run, but you will reach Baron Conrad once you get to the bridge
where you first met him earlier in the game, after leaving Guia. Baron Conrad
is surrounded by masked men from the Octum's Apostles. First, three assassins
will attack you.
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Mini Battle: Three Assassins |
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| |
| Use your first turn to walk a little backwards with all of your characters |
| and then wait for the assassins to move closer to you. Next turn, attack |
| them with Avin and Rutice's Electro Cube and Lucias' Spirit Jin. Now |
| continue using Avin's Electro Cube, and make Lucias do melee attacks. |
| Rutice should heal everyone when needed to, and use Electro Cube when |
| healing is not needed. This battle should no be too hard. |
| |
| After the battle, heal using Rutice's white magic, and refill MP by using |
| potions |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Mini Battle: Sorcerer |
|----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| |
|Use Baron's, Avin's and Lucias' spirit attacks. Let Rutice heal when needed |
|This should make the assassins die after a few turns. As for the sorcerer, |
|you can easily take him out by just using a Deadly Attack or two. |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
After walking back to Baron's house and explaining the situation to him, go see
Meister in the guild to tell him about what has happened, and then walk north
out of Balloa, and walk over the bridge where you saved Baron some minutes ago.
When you reach the fork where you can go north to Koruna, south to the sorcerer
school and east to Guia, go south towards the school.
+ Sorcery School
Southeast of the school building itself, is President Sion's chamber. Talk to
Sion to get the Swordmaster 9 novel. Now you can finally head over to Guia.
+ Guia
Rutice says that she does not deserve to see her brother Rouca yet, so she will
leave the party and go drink beer at the inn while Avin and Lucias do their
thing. Head over to the factory now and go into the plant manager's office. The
manager and Rouca explains that they do not have enough ore to make the sword
that Avin wants. The manager will now give you a letter that is addressed to
Sion over at the sorcerer school south of Guia. Lucias and the manager will now
leave so that Lucias can deal with some monsters inside Guia Mine. Go to the
lower floor of the inn in Guia now and have Rutice join you again. Now go west
out of Guia, then south to the sorcery school. Deliver the letter to president
Sion. Sion says that the letter from the plant manager asked if the school
could assist the factory with magic in order to make the sword that Avin needs.
Sion says that Elenoa would be able to help with this, but that she is
currently in Koruna Village. Well then, head north from the school, past the
entrance to Guia, and then you will arrive in Koruna.
+ Koruna
It appears that Elenoa is not in the village after all, so continue north out
of the village, and go to the Ice Palace. Do not stop until you reach the altar
in the middle of the palace. Rael and Elenoa are here, so speak to them.
Suddenly, the broken artifact on the ground activates, and Avin's three sacred
treasures are pulled into the air. Avin now sees a vision, involving Esperius
(the priest that protected Avin at the beginning of the game), Lemuras,
Bernard and Dominique (the previous Durga's daughter that Madram failed to
protect). And then, Mile appears too. This place makes the dead able to talk to
the living, which means that Mile really died earlier. Well, now Elenoa and
Rael will join your party, so head back to Guia again.
+ Guia
The gatekeeper stops Avin once he has entered town, and says that there has
been an incident in Guia Mine and that Lucias, The Plant Manager and Rouca are
stuck inside. Rutice goes all anxious, but Avin manages to calm her down. Go to
the weapons shop. Buy a Crescent Axe for Rael, a War Hammer for Elenoa, and a
Stiletto for Rutice. Remember to equip them. Now walk to the northeastern part
of the factory and talk to the worker there. Avin's party will now ride a
small cart into Guia Mine to try and find their missing friends.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Guia Mine [Avin017]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There are two carts to choose between at the beginning of the mine. Choose
the left one, since the right one does not lead to anything but plain
monsters. Walk northwest after the second cart has stopped to reach a new
area. Walk east from here to find Lucias and a worker. The worker explains
that Lucias took down lots of monsters, but was then hit unconscious by a
sorcerer wearing a hood and a young man with silver colored hair. After
finishing the conversation with the worker, kill the three monsters north of
your current location. Walk onto the nearby cart after the battle.
Walk west after stepping down from the cart, and then north when you get to a
fork. Keep heading north and read the sign there to find out some info about
Guia mine. After that, head east to meet Rouca and the Plant Manager, being
threatened by a sorcerer with a hood. Use two deadly attacks to kill the
sorcerer, then take down the monsters using spirit magic and melee attacks.
Now everything is ready for the factory to start getting ore and producing the
sword that Avin needs after he has gotten all the sacred treasures. Rutice
decides to keep following Avin on his adventures.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After Dealing With Guia Mine [Avin018]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items To Find
+------------------------------+
|Sp Arcanum 1 |Swear Blade |
|Pearl Amulet |Kukri |
|Mobius Ring |Delta Shield |
|Bind Talisman |Plate Mail |
|Lunch |Swordmaster 10 |
+------------------------------+
Go to the adventurer guild in Guia to get a Sp Arcanum 1, go to the inn to see
Doctor Bandle, then go talk to Oldwoman Rao in her house to get a Pearl Amulet.
Equip it on Rutice. Run east out of Guia and walk until you reach a junction.
Even though it is suggested by Rutice that you go left to Garden Hill, head
east to New Borun if you want to check out the new shop there. Ramicum has
opened his shop now, but hat kind of shop it is, depends on what you
said to him when you talked to him the first time. After shopping around, head
back to the fork from earlier and head west towards Garden Hill.
+ Grand Canyon
Inside this mine, walk straight north, over two bridges, then step on an
elevator after walking a little east. When you have gotten to the upper floor
after taking the elevator, head west and then walk outside. There's lots of fog
waiting for you, but you should be able to find the chest with a Mobius Ring
in. Now walk northeast to enter the mine again using another entrance. Go right
to step on another elevator that takes you up to a higher floor.
Walk southwest and exit the mine once again. Another chest is waiting for you
once you're inside again at the other side. The chest contains a Bind Talisman.
On your right side is another elevator. Blame the developers for this boring
place, allright? Head west after taking the elevator mentioned earlier and then
get out of the mine again. Continue walking like you have done this far, until
you finally reach Garden Hill. Geez, Grand Canyon is a crappy place.
+ Garden Hill
Garden Hill is actually a village where people live, but their houses are
ancient and made of stone. Pretty weird stuff, indeed. Walk straight north to
find two girls talking about a man named Reithol that has forgotten to take his
lunch with him. it turns out that Reithol is a descendant of the shrine
guardians, so you will need to have Reithol with you to get into Idun Shrine
later on. The girls give you the lunch so that you can bring it to Reithol
yourself. Walk over to the weapons shop now.
Buy a Swear Blade for Avin, a Kukri and a Delta Shield for Rutice, and three
plate mails for Avin, Rutice and Lucias. Equip this stuff, as always, and then
head north out of Garden Hill.
+ Follower's Path
Make your way north until you reach a new area, and then continue going north
until you arrive at Idun Shrine itself.
+ Idun Shrine
You will hear Reithol's voice arguing with a silver haired man. The man manages
to get into Idun Shrine, and Reithol is lying on the ground. Avin now brings
Reithol back to Garden Hill, so that they can heal him there. Avin now delivers
the lunch he got from the girls to the elder, so that Reithol can have it
later. Get back to Idun's shrine, to the northern part of the area to be more
exact. Watch the scene where Avin and friends tries to find a way to open the
entrance to the underground part of the shrine. A monster-like creature now
appears, and dashes towards Garden Hill! By reading the nearby tablet, you will
understand that this was most likely the Wind Spirit! Go back to Garden Hill
now to see what the spirit wants to do there.
+ Garden Hill
The spirit from earlier has spread scales all over the town, and the air is all
yellow and foggy. The spirit begs Avin to free it from the monstrous body it
is trapped in, and then flies away. Back in the elder's house, Reithol has
waked up from his sleep. Avin now gets the idea to use the meefa animals from
spirit forest to clean the air and Reithol's body that has been stained in the
scales from the monster. Use the direct service elevator a little south of the
elder's house to get to the bottom of Grand Canyon. No need to walk all the way
down the mountain like when you came here. Thank god. Head over to Spirit
Forest and Archem's house. Northwest in Spirit Forest, as I am sure you know.
+ Spirit Forest
After a small conversation, Archem calls the meefas that are hiding in the
forest, and makes them run over to Garden Hill at once. Now head back to Grand
Canyon, take the direct service elevator, and you will once again arrive at
Garden Hill.
+ Garden Hill
The meefas have now cleaned the air, and all the scales that were making Garden
Hill look like crap, are gone. Walk east of the weapons shop and talk to the
meefa there to recieve the Swordmaster 10 book. The meefa apparently found it
somewhere. Now go talk to the elder in his house. Reithol is there too, and he
takes Avin with him and opens the Idun Shrine's entrance.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Charging Into Idun Shrine [Avin019]
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Items To Find
+------------------------------+
|Sp Arcanum 2 | Frissa |
|Rare Potion | Acinases |
|Shield Orb | Rarest Potion |
|Battle Wrist | Sp Arcanum 3 |
|Theresia H20 | Stimulant |
|Delleboura | Boxed Lunch |
+------------------------------+
Once inside, go into the room on your left side for two Sp Aranum 2. Now you
will notice that there's a stair on the east side of the area, and one to the
north. Go down the eastern ones, and then, you will end up in a room. If you
want 'into' the southern wall from this room, you will find a secret passage.
At the other side of the passage, you can find LOTS of chests. Open them all
and take all the items. Most of them are Rare Potions, but there's also a
shield orb and a Battle Wrist. Let Avin equip the Battle Wrist, and then head
back up the stairs. Now it is time to choose the northern stairs from earlier.
Salk down another set of stairs, and you will reach a large room with two
stairs and some small pillars in the middle of it. First, choose the stairs on
the right side to find a Theresia H20, and then walk down the leftmost stairs.
Down here, walk as far northeast as possible to find a chest with a Frissa in.
The Frissa is a sword that is weaker than your current ones, if you have
followed this walkthrough earlier - so, do not equip it. Ok then, go as far
southwest as possible form the Frissa chest, and walk down the stairs there.
Straight west now, down another set of stairs, and then continue walking the
only way possible, until you see the Frissa chest behind a wall on your right
side. From there, head north, and you will find yourself in a room similar to
the one just before the boss in Scotia Shrine. Walk north, then open the two
blue chests on your left and right sides. This will earn you some Acinases and
a Rarest Potion. Do not equip the Acinases, unless Ru tee has some extremely
weak weapon that you're still using, despite what I have told you earlier.
Now walk a little more north, onto a warp portal. Move onto the nearby moving
block, and the open two chests at the other side to get Sp Arcanum 3 and a
Stimulant. Save, heal and then walk north into the altar room of Idun Shrine.
It's battle now! You know the drill!
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
| Boss: Idun |
|--------------------+--------------------+----------------------------------+
| HP: 800 + | Recommended lv: 27 | |
|--------------------+--------------------+ |
| This battle is much harder than the battle with Scotia, so we will have to |
| be a little cheaper this time around, if you haven't reached level 30 |
| or so, that is. At first, use Avin, Lucias and Rutice's Deadly attacks |
| on Idun. Ignore her spirit helpers, even though they do lots of damage |
| to you. Use Archem to heal using her La Rarer Spell - all the time. |
| When you're out of Deadly attacks start attacking Idun using melee attacks.|
| If Idun paralyzes a character, just heal using La Rarer as usual, and |
| wait for the effect to go away. Do not use time on using items to remove |
| the paralyzis, as this will make it much more hectic to heal the other |
| characters. The key to this battle, is La Rarer! Idun goes down after |
| taking a little more than 800 HP in damage. |
+----------------------------------------------------------------------------+
Idun is now set free from the monster's body, and gives Avin a new sacred
Treasure - the Delleboura. Avin will now be able to use wind spirit magic.
Head back to Garden Hill now.
+ Garden Hill
Sleep by talking to the elder, and then talk to Loretta in the northern part of
the village to get a boxed lunch. Use the direct service elevator to go down
to the bottom of Grand Canyon, and then head over to New Borun, and then head
west from town to the monastery.

Items To Find
+---------------------------------+
| Linde's Note |Briganden |
| Golden Sake |Cowter |
| Swordmaster 11|Rarest Potion |
| Telek |Firefly Mushroom |
| Kirkstein |Jenis Water |
+---------------------------------+
+ Benequia Monastery
A girl comes running towards Avin, followed by some masked men from Octum's
Apostles. Kill them all. Heh, except for the girl, stupid. Head north after
talking to the girl, and then prepare for a battle with another sorcerer. Wipe
the sorcerer and his assassins out with spirit magic and deadly attacks. Heal,
then walk northwest past the girl on the ground to find Borgeid and his guards,
threatening Ollesia and another girl. Suddenly Fatima and the syamseal gang
kills Borgeid's guards, and says that they want nothing more to do with Octum's
Apostles, since they've been treated like shit for a long time. Madram jumps
down from the roof too! Borgeid escapes, Fatima runs off, and so does Madram.
Lucias now has to stay at the monastery as Ollesia's bodyguard, so she leaves
your party. After leaving the monastery, go back to it again and speak to
Sister Line in the northwest corner to get Linde's Note, a note that you need
to take back to her family in Phildin.
+ New Borun
Watch the conversation between Rutice and Archem. When Rutice returns to Avin,
Archem will already have left New Borun and headed back to Spirit Forest. Go
talk to Doctor Bandle at the upper floor of the inn, and then walk east out of
New Borun and walk towards Borun. You will meet General Diren when you get to
the bridge. After the general and his army has left, walk directly to Borun.
+ Borun
Walk to the inn and talk to the bartender to get Golden Sake from him. talk to
Karamus who is also at the inn to give him some ideas. Head east out of town
afterwards, and walk all the way to Phildin.
+ Phildin
Go to Mrs. Zeal's house (straight east of where you just entered) and give her
Linde's Note. When Mrs. Zeal gives Avin his reward the translations seems to
have freaked out, as it actually says that 'Avin was given Linde's Note'. Mrs.
Zeal really gives Avin some Rozes, and not a new note. Head over to the library
to get Swordmaster 11 from the receptionist. Go buy the Telek and the
Kirkstein for Rutice at the weapons shop in southern Phildin. Also get the
Briganden armor for both of you. Now try to exit Phildin by going southeast.
Mile's father comes walking, like in a dream, and does not hear or see Avin at
all. Follow him north to the castle, and then fight the monsters that he
summons. Muse will now appear, and beat Mile's father into the wall.
Afterwards, Avin and friends rests at the castle, and Muse explains that Mile's
father will have to be watched over by the adventurer guild for some time,
until they are sure that he was under a spell or some magic when he attacked
the castle. Martie is here too, and now he's working at the castle as Muse's
aide. Martie and Muse now join Avin's party.
Let Muse and Martie have some accessories, and then walk out of the room. Go
north to talk a little with the king, and then head south to another room. From
here, walk east into a library. Read the books in the two '!' shelves. Head
south out of the
