Announcer : Yeah, he's usually taking a nap. Then, turn left at that spot. Follow that street and you'll get to Wan Chai. Ryo : I got it. Thanks. (Ryo takes a few more steps and sees a woman on a motorcycle speeding towards him.) Joy : Get out of my Way! Ryo : What the...? Joy : Watch where you're going, you punk! Ryo : That goes for you too! Barging into people like that! Joy : You must be Japanese. Ryo : Uh, yeah. Joy : Watch out. Here in Hong Kong, you can easily get run over. Ryo ; Where's Wan Chai? Joy : Huh? Ryo : Wan Chai. Joy : Oh, it's that way (She points in the direction of Wan Chai). Ryo : I see. Joy : Hey, what's your name? Roy : Ryo. Joy : Ryo, I'm Joy. You'd better watch out, there are lots of theives here. Ryo : Take me to them! Wong : They spent all the money gambling! Ryo : What ? Wong : Really! They spent all just like that! (Wong ducks down, fearfully.) Wong : I'm sorry! I'll do anything if you'll forgive me! Ryo : Well then.. (Wong gets up) Wong : Yeah? Ryo : I want to go here. (Ryo passes Wong the letter containing the address of Lishao Tao. Wong examins the map). Wong : I'm not too familiar with Wan Chai. Ask at the Come Over Guest House in the Green Market Quarter. Ryo : Green Market Quarter. Wong : Yeah. They guy there knows a lot. He can help you, I'm sure. I'll draw a map. Do you have a pen? (Ryo gets out a piece of paper and pen from his bag and gives it to Wong.) Ryo : Write it down here. (Wong draws directions to the Come Over Guest House.) Wong : Turn left here and... (Wong finished drawing and hands the map to Ryo). Wong : Here you go. I think it's clear enough. Wan Chai is on the other side of Kings Road. Ryo : Kings Road. Wong : I'll go now. (Wong leaves. Ryo looks at the map and says): Ryo : I should find the Come Over Guest House. (Ryo has another entry in his notepad. Ryo gets to Kings Road, finds a sign and says): Ryo : Wan Chai is ahead of here. (Ryo goes into Wan Chai. Ren Dan : Yeah. it's a special discounted 'Joy' price. Pay it every morning. Got that? Ryo : I understand. Ryo : I should make some money. (This opens the $ command where you can ask people about information to make money. You can ask them about pawnshops, part time jobs, and gambling. There is another entry in Ryo's journal. Ryo now goes to find the South Carmain Quarter. Ryo asks Ren Den for directions to the South Carmain Quarter). Ryo : Excuse me. Ren Dan : Huh? Ryo : Can I ask you something? Ren Dan : What do you want? Ryo : I'm trying to find this place. Could you please tell me where it is? (Ryo hands the letter with the address of Lishao Tao to Ren Dan). Ren Dan : Huh? The Yan Tin Apartments? In the South Carmain Quarter? Red Dan : I don't know any Yan Tin... but go out and turn Left for the South Carmain Quarter. Ryo : Go left, and then... Ren Dan : Fine... Ren Dan : When you reach the end of the road, turn right. Ren Dan : Beyond that, turn right at the Sushi shop corner, and then just follow the street. Ryo : After the Sushi shop, just follow the road, right? Ren Dan : Yeah, go sraight past the Butchers. Ren Dan : If you're looking for that Yan Tin place... Ren Dan : You can ask the guys gambling on the corners in the South Carmain Quarter. Ryo : I see. Thank you. (Ryo has another journal in his notepad. Ryo goes to find the South Carmain Quarter. When Ryo exits the Come Over Guest House, he says : ). Ryo : I'll look for the South Carmain Quarter. (Ryo has another entry in his notepad. On the South Carmain Quarter, some guy asks him to help fix a sign). Green Guy : Why...? It's crooked again. Green Guy : Excuse me! Could you do me a favor? Ryo : Huh? Green Guy : Could you see if this sign is straight? (Ryo has a choice of Yes or No. He selects Yes). Ryo : Ah, All Right. Green Guy : Thanks. Green Guy : I'll move the sign as you say. Tell me if I should move it up or if I should move it down. Ryo : Yeah... Green Guy : When the sign is hanging straight, let me know. Green Guy : All right, I'm ready. (Ryo tells him how to move the sign. After he has finished). Ryo : Okay. Right there. Green Guy : Are you sure? (Ryo has a choice of Yes or No. He chooses Yes). Ryo : Yeah, that's good. Green Guy : (Punching the air) Looks just right. Thank you so much. Ryo : By the way, I'd like to ask you... Green Guy : What is it? Ryo : Which way is it to the South Carmain Quarter? Green Guy : (Pointing in the direction). Turn right there, and as you follow the street, you'll see two Butchers. Follow that Street, and you'll get to the South Carmain Quarter. Ryo : I see. Thanks. Green Guy : Thanks to you too! (Ryo has another entry in his journal. He is about to go into the South Carmain Quarter, but he first visits the Martial Arts School near it. The two guys block his path with swords). Guy : What do you want? Master : He's a guest. Let him through. (The two guys let Ryo past, and bow to the master. When Ryo sees the sign for the South Carmain Quarter : ). Ryo : The South Carmain Quarter is ahead... (Ryo first goes to a Pawnshop to sell his capsule toys. He then goes to Lotus Park, where he sees an old man do tai Chi). Ryo : Tai Chi... Man : Over here. Ryo : Are you talking to me? Man : You are familiar with the martial arts. Ryo : Well, yes, a little. Man : You seem to belong to the Shaolin School. Ryo : No, I... Man : Wait, let me guess. Your movements imply Hawk Style... no, Crane Style. Ryo : Wait, I... Man : Spare with me, then I'll know. (Ryo and Jainmin spare. Ryo can't get a hit on him, and eventually Janimin attacks). Ryo : I didn't know you could attack with Tai Chi. Man : It's Chen Style Tai Chi. Most sytles begin with force, and develop into softness. However, Tai Chi begins with softness, and develops into force. Softness doesn't mean there is no force. You cannot be complete until you attain both. I'm Janmin. And you are? Ryo : Hazuki. Janmin : And what is your style? Ryo : Jujitsu. (Janmin looks surprised). Janmin : Let's spare again if you have the chance. (Ryo leaves the park). Janmin : Jujistu? Never heard of it. (Ryo enters the Yan Tin apartments, and goes over to the draw with Lishao Tao's number on it). Ryo : Here it is. (An old Woman comes out from one of the rooms). Woman : You're back again! You Land Shark! What evil plan do you have now? Ryo : No, I'm... Woman : I'm not leaving this place! Ryo : I'm looking for Lishao Tao. Woman : What would a punk like you want with Lishao Tao? Ryo : Do you know him? Woman : Lishao Tao doesn't meet with Land Sharks! Ryo : I'm not a punk! And I'm not a Land Shark! Wait! Woman : Get out of here! I'm not leaving this place even if I die! (The Woman goes back into here room. Ryo has another entry in his notebook. Ryo goes up to the room of Lishao Tao, and knocks on the door. A man comes out of the door). Man : Whaddya Want? Ryo : Excuse me. Are you Master Lishao Tao? Man : Of course not. Can't you tell? Ryo : Do you know anything about Master Tao? Man : Master Tao's not here anymore. Master Tao moved away. Ryo : Do you know where he moved to? Man : I don't know where, but... Ryo : So you do know something, then? Man : I'm hungry. I haven't eaten all day. Ryo : Huh? Man : You sure are dense. I'm saying, I'll tell you for the right price. (Ryo has a choice of not to pay money, $20, $50 or $100. Ryo pays him $100). Man : See there! You know what I'm talking about! There's a place east of the Wise Mens Quarter called Scarlet Hills. Master Tao's in a place called Man Mo Temple. Ryo : Man Mo Temple in Scarlet Hills, right? Man : Yeah, but Master Tao's a scary person, so mind your manners. Ryo : All right. (Ryo goes to the stairs of Scarlett Hills). Ryo : Scarlet Hills is ahead... (Ryo enters the courtyard and looks around. Ryo : Man Mo Temple... Lishao Tao is here... (Ryo enters the temple, and sees a woman praying. She is about to leave the temple, when Ryo asks her...). Ryo : Um, do you happen to know Lishao Tao? Woman : You are? Ryo : I come from Japan, and I'm looking for Lishao Tao. Woman : From Japan? I'm sorry. but I do not know about Lishao Tao (The Woman leaves the temple, and a man comes in). Man : Do you wish to meet the master? Ryo : You know Lishao Tao? Here is my letter of introduction. Man : Introduction Letter? (He reads the letter.) Man : Yaowen Chen. I've heard the name from Lishao Tao. Ryo : Then? Man : But this letter won't be enough for you to meet the master. Ryo : What? Man : Do you know the four wude? Ryo : Four Wude? Man : I can tell that you know the martial arts. Wude is necessary for those who master the art. Ryo : I don't know. Man : If you understand Wude, then you will have your meeting. Ryo : Four Wude... (The man leaves the temple. Ryo has another entry in his notebook. Ryo goes down the stairs of Scarlet Hills, and meets the Woman he meet in the temple). Ryo : You were... (The woman nods her head). Ryo : Why were you at Man Mo Temple? Womann : I have this single wish... I've been praying everyday to have my wish granted. Seems like you have one too. (There is a slight pause). Ryo : I'd like to ask you something. Woman : What? Ryo : Do you know what Wude is? Woman : Wude is what you learn on your own. Ryo : But, how do I do that? Woman : Any martial artist of true virtue knows. Ryo : Martial artist? Woman : Why don't you ask one? (The woman goes back to the temple). Ryo : Martial artist... (There is another entry in Ryo's notebook. Ryo goes to ask Janmin about the Wude). Ryo : Jainmin. Jainmin : Yes? Ryo : I'd like to ask you... Jainmin : Spar with me. Then we'll talk. (Ryo and Jainmin spar. After a while, Ryo flips Jainmin). Jainmin : What is that move? Ryo : It's called Vortex Throw. As you fall back, you use your opponents force to throw. Jainmin : So you use the rotation to throw. (Ryo and Jainmin resume sparing. After a while, Jainmin attacks using the Iron Palm). Jainmin : So, what was it you wanted to ask me? Ryo : Do you know what Wude is? Jainmin : The Wude. What for? Ryo : To see a man named Lishao Tao. Jainimin : Follow me. (They walk over to a tree). Jainmin : Do you want to see how Tai Chi develops into force? Ryo : Please. Jainmin : Watch Carefullly. For the Iron Palm, you use the power of your whole body. Gather power in your arms and legs at the same time, then strike. (He pretends to do the Iron Palm on the tree). Now, you try. (Ryo does the Iron Palm on the tree) Jainmin : When you cover the ground with leaves I will tell you about the Wude. Ryo : Cover the ground... Jainmin : To know the Wude, you need Kung fo. Kung fo first, and then more. Ryo (interupting) : Uh, yes I understand. Jainmin : Is that so? (Ryo covers the ground with leaves. His last blow is his most powerfull, and make a lot of leaves fall to the ground). Jainmin : You have an appitude for the move. Ryo : Yes. Jainmin : Every day, without neglect, to continue training. That is one of the Wude, GON. Ryo : GON. (Jainmin hits the tree, and apparently no leaves fall, before hundreds of leaves come falling down at once. Ryo finds out to go to the Guang Martial Arts School.) Ryo : Excuse me. Master : May I help you? Ryo : Are you the master here? Master : Yes. My name is Zhousan Xuan. Ryo : Please tell me about Wude. Zhousan : There is a natural order to things. Give me your reason first. Ryo : To meet another master. Zhousan : Your eyes tell me that you are serious in your plight. But I am not qualified to tell you about Wude. 4) Credits G4 Credit goes to : Me - For writing this guide CJayC - For creating and maintaining gamefaqs.com Yu Suzuki - For creating one of my favorite games
